Everything we attempted to cook on this so called non stick pan STUCK! Sent an email to copper chef to ask if i was doing something wrong, or to see if this pan might be defective. No response! Not only is this pan lousy, the customer service is lousy as well! Buy something else, as you will be disappointed with this piece of junk!
This thing is light weight aluminum composite construction (alum = altsiemers). Go solid cast safe iron with a burnish of oil. Old heat old health, every dish gains from the last. Coated crap on aluminum doesn't hold heat it just guarantees that the plastic/ synthetic coating will eventually be in your stomach and the aluminum beneath will imbibe your impending dementia. Please never ever buy this kind of flashy life ending non recyclable crap, designed to kill you slowly
Contrary to "non stick" - eggs stick despite greasing saucepan, bread dipped in to soak butter also sticks to pan. Cost is extremely high but purchased after seeing demo's online. Doesnt live up to advertised video. Cleaning is not as easy as wiping with a cloth. Need to soak it with warm water and detergent for hours before wiping to remove stuck food parts. Havent used the steam basket yet or knife, but the pans were the main reason to make great steak seared and cooked through. Admittedly the steaks came out great. Despite video demo stating can cut steak in the pan, the instruction manual states not to use abrasive instruments. Discolouration occurs. Want to try some of the recipes to check but if simple eggs cause sticking...? Imagine the rest.
I us my pan everyother day. I think it's ok but the lid is horrible.
I've burnt hand on lid handle very dangerous also when you lift lid ro run the condensation in meal the glass leaks all over. Theres no seal between glass and rim. What a mess it makes
I have had these frying pans for 4 months they had been sticking right from the beginning. It does not matter if I use butter, coconut oil or Olive oil. Everything sticks now I have. Hotspots on the frying pan and Brown sticking spots. I only clean my pan with baking soda and nevrr use harsh scourers...It does not wipe clean...I have to soak fryed eggs in water first.
When I originally asked for a refund, they told me they would privately contact me and they didn't so after a month or was unable to get any type of refund because it was already over the period a warranty typical...
I messed up an purchased the whole set. A few months later the induction unit stopped working, they replaced it. After getting it, it stopped working again. All my pans are starting to stick. Forget frying an egg on them or spaghetti in a pot they all stick. Very dissatisfied and for the money it's not worth it. Costumer service is just like the products
I have an electric skillet that I have used 3 times. In the middle of cooking the skillet stopped heating. I tried letting it cool down and it still does not work. Called the customer service line and was told that since it is out of warranty they will not do anything for their product I asked about a replacement thermostat and was told they do not have replacements. I will be throwing this product into the trash and will not use any of their products going forward. Customer service man was polite but not interested in helping me.
My copper top shelf top broke in 100 pieces and ruined my first dinner with friends. I made ribs and was about to take out of oven when I noticed it looked cracked. But when I took it out of oven the top and all the glass broke in many pieces. Well what am going to do now it's after 12:00am and everything is closed. I'm truly without words right now.
I watch the chef on TV and feel you can trust the product he is promoting, (DON"T) was very very disappointed and will not fall for that trick again! Just because you see a face on TV you feel you can trust promoting a product doesn't mean it's a good product. Will look more closely at reviews from now on before buying anything. Now when I see anything with his/her name I will not give it a second chance, and will also change the channel.
Disappointed consumer,
Ana
Purchased 9" skillet at local walmart about 9 months and paid about $25 out the door. Only used for frying eggs over easy or soft scrabble Worked ok for about 3 to 4 months. Now eggs stick and it is troublesome to clean. No longer have receipt. For the money, I suggest tfal which is also sold at walmart.
Thought these were the most wonderful pans for approximately a year. I have a set of 3, I was always careful washing them, never using anything abrasive, they lost their non stick surface. Everything sticks to these horribly now, I've tried using oil, butter and cooking spray and everything sticks still. I contacted copper chef and they will not do anything about it. These are expensive pans, I have other copper chef pans with copper surface that have been wonderful. The blue diamond are junk and I'M sure copper chef company is aware. I will never buy a copper chef product again, a good company would rectify a bad situation. This company is about money only, not a quality product.
Coating beginning to chip off. When I called the company, was told warranty was for 5 yrs. My invoice says "lifetime warranty" not 5 yrs. I purchased the pan in March of 2017 and was told past the 5yrs. I was told they could not replace the product. How the heck am I supposed to know to go on the website to read the detail where it states it's not actually lifetime but 5 yrs? So deceptive! Will never buy this product again and advise others not to. Not worth the $120 I paid for 1 pan.
I purchased a copper chef cookware set and several pieces. Based on the information I had they were backed with a "lifetime " warranty. Well, they aren't. Food sticks, if put in the dishwasher water gets into the handls, heats up and drips boiling water. Contacted the company. They only have a 5 year warranty and no concerns over the liability of burns.
NEVER buy this pan. I have a Copper Chef skillet. It's awful! Everything I cook in it sticks, no matter how much oil, butter, etc is in it (or on the food) before putting food in it. It's so bad it won't even come clean. I'd give it ZERO stars if I could. I've had it long enough I don't have the receipt anymore.
I got these about 5 years ago. As with the other comments, the non stick sucked. These pans are EXTREMELY dangerous. They collect water in the handles and when you start cooking WATCH OUT. The handles create a steam vent and you WILL get burned. Just avoid these alltogeher. If you got em as a gift, throw them right out. The company DOES NOT honor that warranty AT ALL.
Even when cooking at medium heat for meats or vegetables, the pan's bottom burns. It takes a long time to clean out the burnt areas. I am throwing away my Copper Chef pan.
I bought copper chef pans 2 years ago Traveled so was home about 55 days a year so pans got very little use, now even 73/27 ground beef sticks to the damn thing even with all that fat content. Can't get in contact with company for replacement, not sure I even want another pan from them!
Purchased a 10" CopperChef pan from a discount store... glad I paid a low price... the "lifetime ceramic warranty" around the rim of the 10" pan starting to come off... and this pan was hand-washed each time since purchase six months ago... CopperChef online website shows their Warranty: "Procedure for Exercise of Limited Lifetime Warranty Rights (in use after expiration of 60 day Money back guarantee):
If warranty service is necessary, the original purchaser must pack the affected product securely and send it postage paid with a description of the problem and date of receipt, proof of purchase, the purchasers name and mailing address, and a check or money order for $14.99 per pan to the following address: Tristar Products Inc., 500 Returns Road, Wallingford, CT *******. If Tristar elects to refund the purchase price, Tristar will also return to you the above referenced check or money order." WOW! Paying for your own Warranty... stay away!
Purchased a copper chef induction cook top. Using the copper chef pan as provided, the temperature when set at sear mode only went to 141 degrees. The cook top is brand new. I found two phone numbers to contact the company neither of which would do anything but ring busy 4 times then cut off. Don't believe the hype you see on You Tube. There is no one to contact at customer service to obtain a Return Authorization. I have been taken! Don't let that happen to you.
I purchased a copper Chef square electric skillet from Walmart and promptly fell in love with it, so what did I do? I purchased a second one for my daughter, and she loved it, until she didn't. I went to visit her and her 5 month old pan looked like she had it for twenty years. It was burnt on the bottom, the coating was coming off and the heat plate had black spots all over from getting hot spots. Made me sad. My pan is still very nice but hers did not live up to the hype.
Answer: They are not responsive. It would cost too much to replace all the pans we've bought that failed to live up to their guarantee. Notice there are no more commercials...
Answer: Agreed. One time cooking on my gas range scratched the bottom. The coating is not good and I could not get 4 burgers in the pan as advertised. I can go on but I think you get the pictures. Nothing works like they advertise!
