Signed up, deposited money from my normal bank as requested (not a lot but a lot to me) after two weeks tried to withdraw (basically sell my bitcoin) - "user unable" came up. After 2 bot replies obviously not reading emails told to wait 5/6 days then told 2/3 weeks! NO EXPLANATION. Then email came through saying case closed after 3 1/2 weeks - NO EXPLANATION - no idea if its resolved as I'm to scared to put money in again (yes my bank was verified by Coinbase!) My work around this was to send all my bitcoin to my gf who then cashed for me. Yes I could do that (send bitcoin) but not sell and get my GBP in my account. Clear app on the positive side but read around I'm not the only one! Wild West!

I realized that this is not the app i want after i initiated a deposit. I contacted them immediately to stop the deposit. Of course they did not. So my deposit went through and now i cant withdraw it, FOR THE 4TH DAY NOW! They have $4018 of my money that i cannot get out. I have emailed several times they only responded once saying that it takes a while for everything to process. OK how long is a while? I never had this problem on Robinhood. Why dont they respond telling me how long this will take? It should not take 4 days for processing. Ive attached a screenshot showing how the app will not let me withdraw my money. Also, when you call, all you can do is use the automated system to lock your account. There is now way to speak to anyone, despite all the advertisements i saw that claimed they have live agents to speak to. That is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! I SOOO regret getting this account with them. Do not use them. Complete failure in customer service. And i have yet to get my money or get a direct answer as to how long i have to wait. Why would a company hold on to your money? They are drawing interest on it I'm sure. COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED AND VERY ANGRY! About to contact an attorney!

This site is a fraud
December 1, 2020

This site will not let you access your account. Their 2 factor authentication system fails, and they will not correct it. When you try to get it corrected they will not respond. You will have to file a lawsuit to get access to your account

Took over $2500 out of my fiance's account on Thanksgiving without his knowledge. We were planning on Christmas shopping Black Friday, but someone took ALL of his money and put his account down to -$400.

I have been using Coinbase for little wile now. I am extremely upset about all of what they do, and they hide. I have not been able to speak with anyone. Their customer service is horrendous at best.
I don't trade tons of money, and because of that, they eat up all the profits. I have made profits every time I sell, but they eat it up. I honestly don't know where to go that charges reasonable or low fees. If someone knows, please reply here.

Growing pains, but solid.
November 30, 2020

They're a superstar in the digital currency landscape. I think they had some trouble scaling initially and many customer support requests were missed but they seem to have gotten better. And they made a great decision recently by focusing their staff on work, not politics, and offering a major severance pay to workers who only wanted to focus on politics. Great move to cut the problem employees from their team. I sense a bright future for them so long as the legal landscape for digital currency isn't a question mark.

Having always been skeptical of cryptocurrency, I listened to one of my friends who told me, "Just try it and wait for the long term. You might be surprised in a few years, or have a lot of regret if you don't." He recommended CoinBase.

I decided to throw $250 into Ripple (XRP). Why not? I've lost more money in a day at the racetrack or in Las Vegas, so I opened up an account to give it a try.

My identity was verified, I gave them my bank account information for automatic payments AND my bank even acknowledged that I agreed to share my information with them in an email.

So, I bought 770 XRP for 31 cents each, and got confirmation. Over the weekend, I watched XRP go from 31 cents to 54 cents. Hey, I made $177 on "paper" from a $250 investment. Pretty cool, right?

I logged on to my coinbase account the following Monday, expecting to see my balance over $400, only to find out that my "recent purchase of digital assets has failed" and that if I did not pay they would automatically recover the funds in five days. OK, I'll settle, right? I clicked "Make Payment" and they said that it was successful. Why now, and not on Friday? They used the same banking information!

Then, on my recent transactions, it showed that I had just transferred $250 of XRP. To where? I thought I paid for the transaction that I made the previous Friday? So now, XRP had gone up in value almost 75% in four days and my account that should have more than $400 in it, now has $176 in it. So, where did all this money go?

To login to your account, they text you a confirmation number, but if there is an "issue" with your account, they don't tell you - no text, no email. You just get a big surprise the next time you login.

I did supposedly get $10 in Bitcoin for verifying my ID. Let's see how easy it is to get my money out of this scam company.

STAY AWAY!

Riding the XRP wave until CoinBase decided that my crypto purchase did not go through.
My recent purchase of digital assets has failed? WHY?
I paid, but instead it is 462 XRP and not 770? Did I fall for a scam?
My original confirmation. What does "successfully purchased" even mean?

They are up to all sorts of scammy tricks. I'm currently on a "trading suspended" whilst markets rally. Customer support has taken over a day just to respond to an email regarding this. This was a template email. This is just one major scam they get up to. There are too many to write! Get your money off this exchange! They are going to get investigated, they are guising under the premise of being legitimate company now. They pull all sorts of moves on you to take your money but will not pay you when you're successful in the long run. Screenshot everything, emails, balances anything you can for the ombudsman or financial services watch dogs. It will all come out, I'm sure there are plenty disgruntled employees that will say how they were told to thwart and dupe customers. This exchange is a fraudulent ticking time bomb.

This place is what it is, but my account was already verified and once i started throwing money around again what i put in is now locked up for at least 4 days when i literally except and need it right now.
I could be missing out on a few hundred dollars i can get over it but major WTF moment, customer service was only fast for my first message and they didn't give me a real answer. There are probably better fiat accepting exchanges you can go to lots of people seem to have problems with coinbase not what it used to be.

Terrible. Total Con Job.
November 21, 2020

Terrible, this is a total con job. Sold some bit shares.
1) Without my permission they went ahead and Withdraw that exact amount I sold from one bank account.
2) Then deposited that amount in my second bank account
3) Therefore Bitcoin kept my earnings from the sale
While moving my own money around.

4) They even charged me fees for moving my own money!

Insanity would be a better term!

Never got a straight answer, total scripted email. They do not own to their mistakes...
Why would they? Apparently Not need to answer to anyone.

Absolutely appalling!

Caution caution caution!
I had 20,595 xrp I had 1100 xlm and a few other smaller currencies in my coinbase account. November 3rd I was talking on the phone and my phone went dead I couldn't get a signal I went to T-Mobile they said my phone had been hacked. After they were able to retrieve my network I got a message from coinbase saying thank you for your purchase. I immediately went to my account and found that it had been drained dry. I sent an email immediately to them and changed my password. No word back from them until late in the evening and said that they would look into it. Following morning I wake up with an email from my bank saying that I was overdrawn by $200 I immediately go to the bank and it was coinbase transactions over $5,300 worth they completely emptied my bank account bought more cryptocurrency and then withdrew it. Coinbase could have told me at the time to unlink your credit card from their platform. After sending them numerous emails they said they were having an expert look into it. Well their expert was able to tell me how much crypto was taken from my account and that was it and there's nothing that they could do about it. I'm very sad with their response. I had been planning on putting my crypto in a hard wallet a nano x and I wish I would have done that but that still would have left my bank account vulnerable. They need a disclaimer same to unlink your bank account and credit cards right after purchase and to remove all of your tokens and place in a hard wallet. I felt so comfortable with them holding my crypto I never put it in the hard wallet. They should have warning labels I am filing it a lawsuit and the FBI cyber crime unit is involved. Don't learn the hard way like I did they're cold storage doesn't mean crap!

BEWARE
November 16, 2020

The owners of Coinbase should be thrown in Effing Jail. A little over a year ago I had an issue with my account. At the time I had a little over 1 bitcoin and some altcoins. I contacted customer service and for safety purposes they locked my account until the issue was cleared. Not long afterwards I contacted customer service about gaining access to my account again. Each time I called the customer service person said it was still being reviewed by their tech support team. This went on for OVER A YEAR. Finally I was granted access only to find that I had half the amount of Bitcoin that I had before. To make it even worse, there is no access to customer service. They remove more than a half of a bitcoin which is currently about $8000 from my account. These are the biggest effing criminals I have ever dealt with.

Locked out of my account
November 15, 2020

Do not use Coinbase ever to buy or sell cryptocurrency! I purchased a new iPhone and when I got home I was no longer able to log into my account. There is no way to communicate with them except by email I'm which they state that they have 15 days to respond to you while your investments can crash and you can lose everything that you have invested.
