I am building a large clock and had some basic questions about space requirements for various movements. Tried to call dozens of times but always got the answering machine and was always directed to email customer support with my questions. Customer support replies were not timely and did not answer my specific questions. Lots of excuses on the answering machine for not answering... covid? Weather? Come on, that's pretty lame. I do not recommend ordering from this company if you expect any kind of customer support.
Beware! I purchased a quartz clock movement from this place and found that the threaded shaft length was incorrect. Their return policy is an absolute scam intended to extort more money from you. Shop elsewhere! I purchased what I needed on eBay for 1/4 the price.
I bought a 2inch clock insert. It was 29.99; with shipping it was $41.16. It could have been sent in a first class envelop instead over almost 12 for shipping. It is a piece of plastic junk. It may look okay in a picture, but don't be fooled. The poor quality is nowhere near what I paid for it. I don't even care if it keeps good time. I was trying to replace a really cool brass insert and was willing to pay for something decent. Not at clockparts.com,. I definitely do not recommend.
It was impossible to actually talk to someone to figure out the exact part that I needed. They have NO phone number. I ordered what I thought was correct but it was not. I returned it and asked for a refund, but received no response. They took my money and delivered nothing!
I ordered a C cell movement and received an AA cell movement. After I contacted ClockParts, they asked for pictures, which I sent. No response. I returned the part and requested a refund. I have not received a response or a refund. All sales final—even when they send the wrong parts. ClockParts is a rip-off.
ClockParts agreed to replace a defective clock insert...but never seemed able to get around to shipping the replacement part, even after asking over several weeks.
Update: After posting this review, my part was shipped.
Just bought the mini quartz pendulum movement and it runs 4+ hours slow. The movement shows a Final Adjustment feature on the back. However, buyer beware! Their is no working speed adjustment option on this movement!
Waist of money. Amazon has replacement for 1/3 rd the cost.
Stupid me for not checking first! And... Amazon has a 100% return policy. Clockparts.com does not.
I ordered a replacement part for our clock. Over $100. It was packed poorly and the plastic encasement was chipped. The chime sounds terribly unpleasant and garbled. They told me all sales are final. They do not care if you're unhappy with the quality of their overpriced products. I thought it would be best to order from them over Amazon but NO. You can make returns through Amazon. Out $110. Disappointing
Missing parts. Missing instructions. Contacted customer support four times via email and once via webform with no response for over two weeks.
I wish I had read these reviews before ordering from them. They sent the wrong movement. They asked for pictures which I sent to confirm and they said the correct item was sent although the pictures clearly proved otherwise then nothing. No responses to my emails and they do not accept phone calls.
You cannot give minus stars otherwise I would!
Clockparts.com is a complete rip off and a total scam. I myself, like many other people who have reviewed on Google and Sitejabber.com, paid money to receive exactly nothing from this company. Allegedly in Culver City, California, this innocuous business website features a kindly old grandfather-like chap in its simply-explained videos which show you how to disassemble and reassemble clocks. It's just that he doesn't really exist! Whoever answers the phone will tell you "he died".
Bottom line: You receive absolutely nothing but they take your money, stop calling you stop emailing you and tell you that the USPS has lost it, because they picked it up, it has a label and a tracking number and therefore it must really be in the mail. It is not! Oh how they lie! (Notice the multitude of reviews like this on Google and Sitejabber!)
I bought the same exact clock parts I ordered for $46 from this rip off company from Amazon for $16!
Really badly designed web site led me to order a part I needed to repair a customers wall clock. Then when the order arrived I learned that some of the pieces in the photos - specifically the hanger piece to hang the wall clock - is OPTIONAL. Attempting to reorder I got socked for a $6.00 s&h for a $2.90 a half-ounce piece of metal that could be dropped in an envelope and mailed for.50 cents.
Terrible customer service (email only, wait for days and hope you get a response).
A company that is more focused on the legalese that is the multitude of fine print points and a total lack of customer focus all yields a poor customer experience.
If this company focused on their web design as much as they do on their fine print they could avoid a lot of misunderstandings for the customer. But that's not their focus. Their focus is on nickel and diming their customers. Too bad because they just don't get the basic premis that if you focus on your customers the profits will follow.
And I am obviously not the only one who feels this way as evidenced by their overall poor, sub-two-star rating on this site.
Gave measurements and they sent wrong part. Sent info to them and they responded slowly. Sent info they requested and they never have responded. You needed to find another supplier. Don't do business with Clockparts
The battery motor I received is now working in my clock. However, the hands I had did not work with the motor and so I ordered hands from Clock Parts and they arrived promptly but were too big. Even though they could be cut down, they were still too big. I couldn't find a phone number for the company so sent two emails. They do not answer. I finally found the perfect hands to work with the motor on Amazon and got the clock working. The hands I purchased on Amazon were also half the price of the ones on Clock parts that were put in the trash. Poor customer service and no refunds.
I tried multiple times to speak to and/or email with customer service at this place and they refused to accept phone calls or reply to emails about a product that was destroyed because of shipping (Fedex). Their product was delivered and placed behind our garaged vehicle wheels without notification to us (we were home when it was delivered) and when we left home, it was obviously crushed. They refuse to answer my calls and emails to even let me file a claim with Fedex.
I unfortunately dealt with Clock Parts for replacement mechanism for my Howard Miller clock. I watched the video, and took measurements as directed. I tried calling the company to make sure there were no additional issues, however the answering machine message only told me to look at the video. The clock parts came and unlike what was suggested in their promo material the parts were clearly stamped Meade in China. If I wanted Chinese parts I would have ordered off of Amazon at 1/4 the price. In any event I installed the parts only to find out that the hand from my original clock were not compatible with the movement I was shipped. I then tried to return the parts, and was told they don't accept returns for non defective parts, but in my case they would accept the return with a 20% restocking fee. I had to mail the parts back with a a restocking number on the outside of the package, and a USPS tracking number. I was required to e mail them when the parts arrived at their facility. All this was done, and as I look at my credit card statement today, 30 days after the parts arrived at their facility I did not receive the promised credit. I have since voided the charge on my credit card, but I can say without hesitation this is the WORST company I have EVER dealt with. Do not under any circumstances order from these people!
Be aware their clock mechanisms are made in China, not the USA. They sent me the wrong clock, but since "sales are final" I was told I would have to pay the return shipping and the restocking fee before they'd send me the correct item. Their customer service rep responded to my initial email, but then ignored follow up inquiries. Now I have a clock I did not order and can not use. I wouldn't be so upset if they would have at least responded to me. Don't take the chance.
We found what we thought was the perfect clock, electrical with a back-up battery and auto-time changer. We ordered it, but that is NOT what we got. We notified the company by email, because there is no other way to contact them (which should have been our first clue) and they sent us another clock, instructing us to not return the first clock yet. Upon receiving the 2nd clock, it was the identical erroneous model as the first clock, only in different colors. We again emailed the company and they advised that their shipping department would send us shipping label. We never got it, nor have we heard a word back from the company. So here we sit with TWO $5 cheap plastic clocks, one of which was broken when we received it and having to pursue this dishonest company by other means to get our $73 back!
BEWARE! Their products are super cheap, not what they advertise, and can't even hold up to shipping! Unable to show picture of 2nd clock with the second-hand broken off because we've already packed both clocks in their boxes. VERY CHEAP PRODUCTS.
Ordered parts 2 weeks later nothing. Order says "processing". Sent multiple emails and got incoherent copy and paste replies. Emails are a complete waste of time. Calling is equally useless. Filing a charge back with my bank tonight.
In order number ******* I ordered and paid $29.99 for a so-called DIY Clock Software program which is supposed to provide a means of importing a graphic image onto a clock face with your choice of several dials to superimpose over it. Then you print it out and use it to make custom clocks for gifts, etc. The software was shipped on a generic CD with no label, came with no instructions at all, printed or soft-copy, and no install file. I do have some computer experience so I found the simple application file and clicked on it. Up came several screens at the same time with very limited manipulation capabilities and nothing to help you understand what to do, etc. I finally played around with it until I was able to import some clipart files to experiment with. You cannot reduce or enlarge the image to make it fit within the dial. You cannot round off the edges (corners) of the image to make it symmetrical with a round clock dial. If you want it reduced you have to first make a copy and try reducing it with some third party graphics software, and you can only guess as to the necessary file attributes to make it fit. The software has no licensing capability, or anything. It is less than junk, and way over rated by the seller. But then again, what can one really expect for $29.99. I should have known better to start with. In a previous order (number *******), I ordered (1) clock movement (Item #MVTQCP14) at $49.95 and one heavy duty pendulum movement, (Item #PHDPDK4) at $108.99 for conversion of a grandmother clock from mechanical to electric. I later found out that the exact same RHYTHM quad chime movement (which, by the way, is made in China) is sold on eBay under the model number for $62.77 (that's $46.22 less). The Pendulum drive was $49.95 and comes with an unenclosed 3" pm speaker. I found the same unit on eBay for $19.95 under the item number MPD-80. Exact Same Unit! I would check around before I ordered anything from these people. I definately will not be ordering anything else from them. And there is no need to call them because it is clearly printed on the invoice: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Of course any defective item will be replaced.

Answer: It is A SCAM, no doubt. There's no refund policy! There's no service! There is NO VALUE! There's no return policy! There's no Customer Service! There's just them, your money, and then nothing! That's it! I don't know how many ways to say that! Nothing! We received nothing from these people!
Answer: Their videos were helpful, and the prices (before shipping) seemed in line with other sites. The shipping is killer though...$10.95 for USPS first class.
Answer: IMPOSSIBLE THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO MULTIPLE EMAILS
