Not only is this site useless it tried to take money with several transaction but thank god my bank blocked the card and transaction. I usually get an OTP request page for even small amounts. It's a scam please be careful!
I would give this company/site zero stars if I could. They are a greedy, toxic, disgusting company who preys on peoples money and need for help on homework/studying. Bought this and tried to use the features but it suspended me after claiming that I had too many accounts open/devices. IT WAS MY PHONE. Useless piece of crap company. Good for absolutely nothing! Save your money folks.
Textbooks are way expensive and honestly, it feels like university bookstores totally overcharge even with their rentals. Chegg.com has excellent prices for rentals. They are less then half of what the bookstore provides. The only weird thing I found was the samples they offered along with the book rentals. Maybe it's because I'm female, but they added some press on fake nails in the box. Needless to say, while their sponsors may be a bit weird, the amount of savings is awesome.
They offer 4 weeks of free Chegg Study when renting an ebook. Nope, not if you have had it before. Yet says nothing about it in the terms and conditions. Cancelled ebook, got my money back and rented from the bookstore. Last time I ever consider using Chegg.
Chegg renewed an annual $75 fee last night, the problem is I haven't used Chegg in about two years. I called customer support and the man I spoke with was so nice and helpful! Once he found my information, he saw there was no activity on my account for over a year, so he just cancelled my membership and refunded my money! Easy as that! Normally to get refunds like this you have to yell, get mad and throw a fit. I didn't even really have to ask, he just did it for me! It was such a breathe of fresh air compared to how these calls typically go. Well done Chegg!
I ordered a textbook from chegg with an "guaranteed" delivery about a week later. The textbook failed to show up and there was no delivery date when I looked in the delivery information. I did the online chat with a customer service person who responded slowly and with no solution for my issue, just suggesting that I return the book when it gets there. She informed me that it was going to be over a week late, and refused to offer me an ebook until the physical book arrived. Overall frustrating experience with no offer of recourse when they obviously messed up.
Ordered my daughter's textbooks through Chegg. They sent her multiple copies of one textbook and did not send the other. Called customer service and they said they will send the correct one out and a return label for the extra. Oh, wait... just got an email. Book is out of stock.
So, now have to try and track a copy down. And she needs to study. What did they offer me for my troubles a 15% off my next order coupon. Yeah right, there will not be a next time. Do yourself a favor and buy your textbooks directly from the school bookstore. Chegg uses all types of fly by night partner companies and they cannot be trusted to deliver.

I will never use Chegg again. I sold 3 books over a month ago, and still haven't received my payment and they can't find one of my books. This is odd, considering that all three were shipped in the same box. Customer service is terrible. Beware...

One fraud person as part of money scam, contacted me through Whatsapp and I found that they got my number form Chegg.
I understood that its a scam and on right time I blocked and reported.
I've been using Chegg for three years; the first year, it provided excellent tutoring services; however, in the last year, their services have deteriorated significantly; writers provide plagiarized answers, and all they do is copy and paste content from online sources; I'm truly dissatisfied with their services as a whole.
In three days of subscription, I already noticed Chegg was taking a lot of money from students and might not deliver the service as promised. In my experience, first, they gave a totally wrong answer. The second question, they responded, "need more information". I already gave everything, so I just asked "what info do you need". Until now, I have received any response from them. It was disappointing service. On the third day, I called them and asked for my money back. They said it's already passed 3 business days, but Matt the Customer Service Supervisor told me Chegg subscription is non-refundable. Two different people responded differently.
Bought a textbook in 01/2020 and just noticed that I have been being charged $16 per month on a credit card i never use that has automatic payments set up. Apparently this subscription started automatically (i did NOT enroll), however customer service said their policy was only to refund the past 90 days of charges and nothing further back. $512 dollars that Chegg has charged me for a subscription that I never used once (i don't even have an account) and did not know I had. Absolutely outrageous.
ORIGINAL REVIEW - The company is not safe. I sent in an order with two identical books. They checked in one. I called and spoke to a rep who left a message for the warehouse to check in the other book. I have left multiple emails that have gone unanswered. Now they closed out the sale and never processed my second book. They basically stole the book from me. Will never deal with the company again.
UPDATE - after numerous phone calls and emails, I finally reached someone that admitted they don't know what happened. Two books arrived but only one got checked in. I'm leaving the rating since I am only getting paid because I persisted. The check is going to take a couple more weeks, but at least I'll get paid.
Customer Service on this site is absolutely amazing. I literally love being respected over the phone and given all the care plus extra I didn't even think I would get. I saved much money on my college textbooks, half in one case this semester, and my order was shipped within a couple of days, in time for class. I know, from previous experience that if I have an issue, I can get it resolved in no time by one phone call to this wonderful company.
I discovered I've been charged for the past 4 years on an account and email I never use anymore as it was so long ago. I created it in high school to use it one time and thought it was just for one month. When I explained my situation, the "best" they could do is refund me for the last 3 months due to their policy. A refund of $30 doesn't really do me any good when I've paid them over $400. Chegg should be more understanding in these situations and review their policies since it seems to only be helping themselves and hurting their customers.
I have cancelled their service several times over the last few years and they keep renewing and charging me. When you call expect them to ask for credit card information and argue with you if you refuse to give it as they say your account does not show up.
Do not buy anything from this scam site, i bought it to have some hints about a problem therefore i posted it 20 times on chegg because every time the answer is the same and unrelated. So the result is that i spent 15 dollars for nothing in return.
Was told my question would be answered "sooner or later" and provide info. I do and they delete it for breach of some sort. Total disappointment. Tried numerous times to get refund but could never get through. They debit me AGAIN today... but after an hour I finally got thru and overall the lady was kind and is refunding my money. Chegg, states (on its website) that you could purchase your rental. When I could not purchase my e-book rental through the website, I contacted the customer service supervisor who reports that e-books are subject to the publisher's contract with Chegg. If anyone would like to rent an e-book with a plan to buy later, please confirm before renting it from Chegg. There are other websites where you could buy the same e-book during or after rental.
Seriously, Chegg has saved me so much money on books. Every quarter I look around for the books I need and I always wind up going back to Chegg because they have the absolute best rental prices. They've saved my credit card 2 quarters in a row now.

Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
