I received my book today. I am in shock that i paid for new book but received USED one. This is a 2 volume set. They first sent me volume 1 which is new, missing volume 2. I called and now they send me used book. Would someone please explain to me why they cant mange their business and we as customer has to suffer again and again.
I texted the customer service few months ago to cancel my payment and deleted my account but then I just checked my bank account today and I found out that I was charged for every single months after I talked to them.
I contacted them to cancel my account late last year.
I called in today about the problem and they kept on saying they don't know why and will look into it just giving me sht excuses.

Unless you have a substantial amount of time to attempt to cancel this service, find another service. I have attempted to cancel this subscription for one year, and was forced to file disputes through my credit card. This is my third attempt to cancel this service. If anyone has the amount needed to cancel this service directly through Chegg, you're doing something wrong with your life and have entirely to much free time.
Can't have your browser clear cookies but if your computer keeps registering as a new device they ask you clear cookies.
Shouldn't try searching for your answer through Google and click on their link could register as a new device.
Don't use multiple tabs, or different browsers.
Way too many things you shouldn't do because it registers as a new device. Including travel because going onto different internets could register as new device.
Too many new devices they will suspend your account and when you ask about it, they can't even give you the actual day or issue.
I was told my account got locked on 4/5/24 around noon. While it was still 4/4/24 in the afternoon. There is no place in the world that it would be noon on 4/5/24 at the time I called. It would just be early am on 4/5/24 for most of the eastern world. Had to look it up later and the latest time I could find was 10am on 4/5/24 in I think Suva. Doubt they are based there.
Ask way they go through all the possible reason an account can get lock. With advice how to prevent it in the future. So, hope you are not a student who travels or has to use public computers for your homework.
In the past when I used Chegg, their prices were cheaper than other options and they delivered the textbooks on time. Now they claim books were unreceived (upon further review by customer service, it was simply not logged in by receiving), and take over a week longer for shipping than what you pay for (which isnt the quickest shipping time, and I chose an expedited shipping method). It's become a headache and not worth dealing with.
This app is totally useless and a waste of time and money I subscribed to the app last week and now when I log in to my account they are saying to log in again and waste the money again I had chosen a plan of 1 month not for one week. Guys do not waste money on such foolish applications they are totally useless and fraud.
Chegg is the anti-christ they purchased Quizlet which at the time owned Slader, a free resource for students to aid them with their homework. Chegg then proceeded to make it a paid service entirely ruining it.
Literally one minute after placing my order, I tried to cancel as it was the wrong edition. You can't. They had not yet sent the book - but they said they had to send the book and then I could return it.
I sent in two good conditioned books for buy back. I received a check for one of the books, and zero communication about the other book. After several months, I contacted Chegg, and they stated that my other book was in poor condition. When I sent the books, they were both in good condition. The only resolve is for Chegg to send the poor condition book back, and will receive zero compensation for my book that was originally in good condition. How about just send back my original good conditioned book? How will I be able to prove if the book sent back was not my original book, and they profited off my original good condition book. Sounds a little shady, and will not be doing business with Chegg again, especially since I buy books for four kids!
I'm giving Chegg one star because half a star is not available. I bought a book, they sent me the wrong book. I informed them of the issue, they supposedly sent me back the right book. I did this 6 times, so I have 6 wrong books. I called to complain and found out they charged me for all 6 books that they won't refund me for. These people are useless, don't waste your time. Go to Amazon. F@%$ Chegg.
I bought this as I was looking for study help for my university exams. It was utterly useless and had no answers to what I was looking for. They also did not answer my questions within a few days. I would not recommend
Scammers stay away!. This website is all lies just to keep your money. Tried to use it and it didnt work. I told customer service and Ivan refused to refund my money. He said is due to usage when I didnt even have a chance to use it. What a scammers!.
Most of the solutions are wrong. Most of text book homework help does not match the book purchased. Everytime I log in I have to verify myself by email, EVERYTIME, using the same exact phone. I do not recommend anyone to use this service. They deserve to fail, I have emailed repeatedly about my concerns they do not give a crap.
Don't bother trying to sell back a book there - unless it' brand new you won't get a penny for it. They will sell poor condition books but if you try to sell the book back to them they won't give you one cent even if its in the exact same condition as it was when you received it.
I could never find answers to questions, get answers to posted questions or all I get is a list of unrelated questions, I recommend to stay away from this Q&A paid web service. I would give 0 stars but it won't let me.

Worst experience ever I ordered a book for my daughter. The textbook changed so I proceeded to contact them and because it was over the 21 day return policy I couldn't return it which is fine but they told me I had to try to sell it on my own and couldn't even give me a credit so I can purchase something down the road and I would return this so this way I don't lose and they wouldn't lose. I wasted 28cad, thinking this as reliable site and had to lose it, with not even using for 10 mins. So becareful, their policies are crazy and contents are not reliable as shown before subscription. Never trust.

I havent been a student in 2 years and figured my subscription lapsed when I didnt update my billing or renew. BUT they bill "your bank" so they have access to allllll your renewed credit cards and do not notify you when they update the payment. I was billed for 2 YEARS without a single notification or email. Yes i know a lesson learned to check your statements, but $15 a month just slipped below my radar. I checked the last confirmation I ever received from them was my initial subscription over 3 years. They are unethical for the sneaky autosubscriptions and access to your bank and credit cards!
Today, November 9,2017, I find out from my mother that Chegg charged her credit card $16 this month and she assumes I ordered a book. I have not ordered a book, so I asked her to open her statement so we could find out if this was a monthly charge. Found out it was and has been occurring since February. I called to find out what it was and to stop it, and was told it was a tutor service that apparently I signed up for when I ordered books in January. I didn't know I had signed up for this and have never used it so I asked for a refund. I was told all they could refund was 3 months, the previous 7 months were not refundable. I asked to speak with this person's manager and was told he didn't have a manager. He was as high up as the ladder went and there was nobody else to deal with. I told him that I would be reporting negatively about Chegg and that they had lost a customer!
College costs enough. We spend thousands of dollars a year to get an education, and when subpar professors can't teach us the material, we turn to the internet. We shouldn't be expected to pay more. It shouldn't be this dang hard to get help in figuring out how to do homework problems. Thanks for absolutely nothing.

Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
