CheckPeople.com presents a mixed reputation among its users. On the positive side, many customers appreciate the quality and accuracy of the background checks, citing detailed reports and useful information that can be difficult to find elsewhere. However, significant concerns arise regarding deceptive billing practices, with numerous complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and difficulties in canceling services. Customer service experiences are often criticized for being unresponsive or overly focused on upselling rather than addressing issues. Overall, while some users find value in the service, the prevalent negative feedback highlights a need for greater transparency and improved customer support.

This is a scam site...These "people" charged my card back to back with over 40.00 of "fees" when I have never heard of them or signed up for anything they have, After searching the "company" online and trying to contact customer support, I quickly discovered they are non-existent, The number they have as CS online line kept telling me their server was unavailable, something I've never seen before.
BEWARE, CANCEL YOUR CARD IF THEY CHARGE YOU BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT STOP... Even days after this they are still trying to hit my card for 1.00, the typical way scammers see if any funds are in the account, if that goes through they keep increasing the amount they hit your account for until they drain every penny you have.
Thank GOD I blocked them, canceled my card, and took all the steps to ensure they no longer have my information. Good luck if you encounter them, Take all the steps needed to get a new card, because they do not stop once they have your card number.
SCAM, 1 dollar for sign up, 6.99 that I did not approve. And in 2 more days they was going to charge me 22 dollars more and I couldn't even find myself on there after giving all the correct information.
This website is a complete scam. I used the website for one day for one background check on myself and did not receive any information I was looking for. I unsubscribed from the website that day using the website. Just for them to take money out of my accountI two months after later because they said that I had not unsubscribed when I did. Now the company does not want to refund my money back even thought I haven't used the website since I got the background check.
I strongly advise against using CheckPeople.com. This company employs highly deceptive billing practices to lure unsuspecting customers into unauthorized subscriptions and fees.
I initially signed up for a seemingly simple, one-time background check, which was advertised as costing only $1. However, upon reviewing my credit card statement, I discovered multiple unauthorized charges:
Deceptive $1 Charge: A misleading initial charge of $1, which was used to bait and switch customers into a subscription.
Unauthorized Monthly Subscription Fees: Two charges of $29.16 each, totaling $58.32, for a subscription I never authorized.
Unauthorized Report Printing Fees: Two charges of $6.95 each, totaling $13.90, for reports I did not request or receive.
This fraudulent activity resulted in a total of $73.22 in unauthorized charges. I had to dispute these charges with my bank, which was a time-consuming and frustrating process.
I urge you to exercise extreme caution when dealing with CheckPeople.com. Their deceptive tactics and dishonest business practices are unacceptable. Please share this review to warn others and help prevent them from falling victim to this scam.

They charge you a dollar for a trial that gives you absolutely nothing and at the same time they charge your card 6.95 they did this two weeks in a.
Then the monthly charge is supposed to be like 27.95
If you don't have it all in your account they'll take whatever's there like 9.95
When you call to dispute the charges there is no disputing they they say oh we'll cancel you out now and the only way we charge the $695 is if you okay it will know I okayed a dollar then they charged me $695 right behind the dollar I did not okay the $6.95 and I closed everything out I canceled it but yet they continued to take money out of my account every two weeks tolding up to $36.
Refuse to refund anything even though they can tell that you never used their site not one minute.
After doing the dollar for the free trial and then charging $695 right behind the dollar without authorization I knew it was some kind of scam BS then and then they wanted more money to give me any kind of information it was is ridiculous do not use them they're no good use Ben verified they are excellent they are right on the money they can tell you the last place a person was seen time date and everything use Ben verified
You guys already got your stupid money quit stealing money out of my checking account every freaking month it is kind of rude
Checkpeople.com is a scam. I wish I would have read the reviews before I used their site. I signed up because it advertised it was only $1. They charged me $6.99, $3.99, $1, and $29.99 all on the same day! The information on the site is very generic and not updated or very close to being right. The person I was searching was standing right by me. There were people he had no idea who they were that it said he was associated with. There were vehicles this person has never owned. The criminal history was from over 20 years and not updated. When I called to cancel and ask for a refund the lady kept trying to upsale me and wouldn't listen. She tried to make excuses and failed to apologize or take accountability. The $29.99 is the full price and what they will charge you after 3 days. Only they charged me that right away. She couldn't give me an explanation on the $3.99 and $6.99 charge. I then went on to call them out on the generic, false, and outdated information. She tried to say it updates every so often during the day. I said so the outdated information from over 20 years ago will update just like that in an hour? Lol...I did get refunded and I know I'm lucky because other people on here have said they didn't get one. I did call that very next morning so maybe that is why. Money is super tight for me and i had to wait a few days to get my momey back even though I never gave them permission to take anything else out besides the $1 I agreed to. I am warning people not to sign up. Th3 information they give you can find on your own with a simple Google search. Don't waste your time or hard earned money on this trash!
Doesn't give any valid info. Payed the 5$ to sign up and i didn't realize you have to cancel after three days or they'll start automatically charging your card on file 30$ monthly. Tried to cancel the account for a refund, but they don't accept refund after they've already charged your card and has been processed. Making y'all aware to cancel the account within 3 days because even paying the 30$$ they still don't give you valid information. They don't keep the site updated at all!
I thought I was getting a PDF report of the person I was looking into. The website said the person had a criminal background, but when I paid there wasn't one. I thought I was only paying $1 for a trial, I opted for a PDF and that charged me $6.99 extra--IT WAS NOT CLEAR to me that was going to be an extra cost. Slimey business practices. Look elsewhere. I cancelled my trial subscription immediately.
As most websites on the internet they advertised as free. At the very end, these folks ask for money too don't waste your company be alive by the small things the Bible says the lie by anything they just want your money
Do NOT sign up. Terrible customer service. They charge 30 dollars a month in a nefarious manner. Terrible company.
To my experience is a scam they let you know how much for their services and you add your card information and they end up overcharged you until they exhaust your account I advise subscribers to beware luckily to me I didn't add my basic bank account card
They say they will charge you a certain amount and then they charge for other things. Then they don't bother to tell you it's a subscription and take $24.99 off of your card the next month and don't reimburse you when you call them to let them know you didn't know they were going to charge you monthly for a subscription. It's a scam!
CheckPeople. Com helped me avoid a potential scam. Always verify a phone number before you call it back! I would have lost thousands if i hadn't looked it up.
I love how CheckPeople. Com aggregates information from various sources. Saves me time and keeps me from having to dive into dozens of results on Google.
CheckPeople. Com is an excellent resource for anyone seeking trustworthy information about new people they meet, their neighbors, or even their relatives. Valuable, and really helps you stay safe.
I found inaccuries in other reports, so I had given up on online background checks. But my friend told me to give checkpoeple a try, and I'm really glad I did. I ran it on myself first and everything was dead on!.
I had doubts, but CheckPeople. Com delivered quality background checks. Reliable service, and totally worth the subscription price if you have several people to look up or date a lot, especially online.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
