Awful experience and I'm still paying for it. I wanted info on a particular person. Found them and intel said they had two criminal charges - or whatever the wording was. So I took the bait and signed up for the $1 intro offer. After signing up and opening all their info there were NO criminal charges on this person. What?! The old bait and switch - I fell for it! Then my card was charged $27 and not the $1. Plus an additional $6.99 for wanting a PDF of the report.
BUT to top it off I started receiving spam mail within hours after giving Check People my info. I haven't received this type of disgusting spam mail in years. I've reached out to Check People about removing my email from their list and stopping selling my info. It's been over a month and I'm still receiving spam mail.
Background reports are definitely not updated regularly and there is more recent and readily available information doing a free search engine of a name than their "database" which is multiple years out of date and didn't even include court records I was already aware of...
Some people complain about having to pay for services like this but I really don't understand why because you're getting really useful, accurate information. You can't get these details for free and it's totally worth the cost in my opinion.
Honestly, best money I've spent in a while. The fees are totally worth it because the information you get is incredibly detailed. Nothing like I've seen before anywhere online. I urge you to use Check People for all your background checks!
I went on this site to check to see if a current business associate is a felon. I paid $4.99 on my CC for this and received whatever was available, whether it is legit, who knows, since obviously they fraudulently bill your CC for unauthorized charges!
The following day I was alerted by my CC for a possible fraudulent international charge. I spent almost an hour trying to reach their CSR department. After reading them the riot act, the girl actually had the audacity to ask me if she could offer me a discount off what they billed me fraudulently! WTH? How about you refund that $49.99 before I have you arrested on theft by taking charges? My credit card company was notified of what occurred, my account closed. If that charge isn't reversed within a couple of days, I will be filing fraud charges. I am so over the internet crooks!
Completely worthless site.
-Completely worthless report
-Charged more than was listed
-Charged an aditional amount without permission
-Sold my card data
+$400 other charges due that
*Thankfully my bank is smart and caught these ASAP.
+customer service leaves much to be desired.
Do not use this service at all.
Rock solid information from an easy to use website with great support staff should you have any questions. What more can you ask for? I've been using Check People for a while now and have recommended it to many friends who do similar business!
I first made a purchase on this site thinking it was a $1.00 charge. After noticing the $29.17 charge during the first month: November 01,2021, i quickly called to figure out why i was being charged that much and to cancel that exact day for all future payments. I was told a refund would be processed. Since then, I have been charged FOUR additional charges since cancelling my subscription.
$29.17: December 02,2021
$29.17: January 03,2022
$29.17: February 01,2022
$29.17: March 02,2022
I've also noticed a $6.99 charge which was also never mentioned on October 25,2021.
Only refunded one but said they did 3 then said they couldn't do the other two because of policy?
I own a building in the city and I'm always worried when looking for new tenants. A friend of mine suggested I look up a website to do back ground checks on prospects and I came across Check People! What an amazing tool, would highly suggest it to anyone.
Some alright info. But pretty outdated. And too expensive for what's offered. I called and got a discount for 6 months. Also I do in it can be wrong or misleading I looked myself up and things said we're not right
I tried this site, but the link they sent me is broken or something is wrong. I use Windows 10 and Android. I tried to open it from four different browsers, two different devices, multiple different settings, etc and all I got is either a white blank page or a grey one. If I try to reload either it would do nothing or cannot be reloaded at all. I ran out of ideas. Why would I pay for their "services" if I cannot even see what they could offer? What I could see in the "preview" or whatever you call it was a load of certainly outdated information.
I'm in the process of trying to find an apartment and roommate on campus and it's very hard to trust who you're speaking to on the phone or over the internet. Check People is great to go through possible prospects ahead of time. I find results to be very detailed and gives me exactly what I'm looking for. Then when I meet with these people, I can verify that they're telling me the truth and I have the reassurance I need to make my decision. Another student I know suggested I use this site and I'm really happy I did. I'll use it again in the future for sure.
Roommate hunting is the worst! You can read a good letter or check someone out on Facebook as much as you can and still they end up weird. I use Check People to really understand who is contacting me before having to meet them. I can learn so much information about them first and then filter through their applications.
I purchased the $1.00 trial to look up someone. Service indicated individual was in area requested. Did not pull anyone there. Charged me $6.99 for pdf version which I didn't understand I was authorizing. Seems a little scammy. Cancelled easily.
My fiance and I are planning on sending our wedding invitations out soon and we didn't want to bother everyone for their addresses so we signed up for Check People which I had read about on a wedding blog. We're so happy we did! Their website is so easy to use and once you simply search a person's name and enter a bit of information you have on them, you can really find everything you need to know! This just simplified our lives sooo much because who has time to message everyone by text or messenger and wait for them to get back to you with their address and stuff?! We just sat down one night and looked everyone up and were able to mail out our invitations the very next day! All brides and grooms should use this site to simplify your wedding planning process.
Information is wrong, it shows things that aren't so. It didn't show legal issues which there are, it showed past addresses which were wrong, the person never lived at some of them that were listed. After seeing these mistakes I figured why go any further it's as if they make things up.
I used check people for one month and it was really helpful in locating old friends. I was able to mail many invitations out because of the detailed information that I received. I was hoping that the trial would have been longer before the full charge.
Check people is absolutey a dam scam!
I was offered a free people check on there website so I decided to check myself after giving them all my info they then wanted a credit card for there deceptive offer I declined it.
I now receive messages saying I have just been arrested & hurry up and pay up
Absolutely FN RUBBISH
What a joke so beware and give them no payment info for there scam.so far they claim I have been arrested 25 times in 14 days.
Never happened
I'm going to send em one of my $13 dollar bills
Everytime I'm allegedly arrested.
People check nerds should be shutdown ¿
I have no problems with the service. I got all the information I needed, and decided to cancel the subscription. Just before finalizing it says I will be charged $37 for a cancelation fee. Why? I never had a fee before to cancel any subscription. Definitely don't remember seeing that when I signed up. Thanks, Checkpeople.com.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
