CheckPeople.com presents a mixed reputation among its users. On the positive side, many customers appreciate the quality and accuracy of the background checks, citing detailed reports and useful information that can be difficult to find elsewhere. However, significant concerns arise regarding deceptive billing practices, with numerous complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and difficulties in canceling services. Customer service experiences are often criticized for being unresponsive or overly focused on upselling rather than addressing issues. Overall, while some users find value in the service, the prevalent negative feedback highlights a need for greater transparency and improved customer support.

Was on the phone with the call agent to discuss my subscription. The agent was friendly and assisted me the whole time with my questions.
The website said I had 10 minutes (with the clock counting down) to use coupon to view the full background check for only $1 after I'd just spent 5 minutes waiting for it to load. So I scrolled up and down to try to see the fine print or the catch and/or terms. I didn't see anything. So I assumed it was probably for the first month only, so I'd do just make sure I cancelled it before it renewed at full price. So I pressed okay and gave my card info. I was instantly charged $29.17 and then when I looked at the PDF to view the actual report I wanted to see, it charged me another $6.99. I called a few days later when I got a chance to cancel the account (because you can't just cancel online, you have to call and sit on hold for 10 minutes to be able to cancel the subscription) and was told that it clearly told me I had 3 days to cancel it or I'd be charged the full amount and then was told if I wanted to view the PDF of the report I had to pay for that convenience also, because I could've just gone to the courthouse and got that information if I wanted to.
I just wanted to do one background check to find out what convictions were on my boyfriends record so he knew what to inform his employer of. Which if you want to discuss that, the charges that this website showed on his background check were false, half of them were charges that had nothing to do with him. They said these reports are an educated guess based on computer algorithms when provided a name and date of birth. So the whole thing was a waste of time and money. They didn't refund me any of my money, all they did was try to talk me into keeping my subscription but for a lower monthly rate. I would never use this site again. There's plenty of other websites that provide the same service and clearly tell you what you're going to be charged and why. It's the sneakiness that pisses me off. Tell me what you're going to charge me up front and let me decide if I want to spend that.
After clicking on all information needed. This website denied me access to the information after I gave valid card information. They said something about abuse which is not true. I have never abused anyone or anything. This is not an accurate website. It is not a good company.
I wanted to catch up with an old friend. Jocelyn said it was a $1 but then they took $29 out of my account for 3 months. I called peoplecheck.com and Jocelyn said do to company policy we can only give you %50 back for this month. So out of my $90 they only gave me back $14.95. I hate when companies steal your money. The information I got wasn't even right and then I did not use it for 3 months and got charged. Do not use this program unless you like throwing a away money.
I am working with this tool since they started. I have a great experience with them. I am giving them 5 stars.
I run background checks on potential new tenants for my property. It avoids potential pitfalls of letting the wrong person in your house.
I typically use check people 2-3 times a week and am pleased with the information that I receive from the website. I have tried a few other websites and they are not as up to date.
The website is very easy to use and my results were pretty up to date. Good product. They deserve five star rating.
I buy and sell lots of personal goods around my neighborhood and continue to use check people to filter out potential stolen goods from untrustworthy people.
Got my free trial after paying 1$ and my report was exactly as it should be. The fine print said that it would continue to charge me 30$/month afterwards so I called and cancelled when I was finished.
Signed up for free trial, got overcharged by about 30 bucks and when I called to ask what happened they said it was because my trial was over and that what I was seeing in my bank account would actually be the bill for the end of the month. Took the l and told them to cancel the subscription and they agreed. Now I have another charge to my account and the never cancelled my subscription.
Sometime dealing with facebook markerplace users can be scary. I always run checks on anyone I am nervous about meeting up with.
Very easy to use site. No problem and very satisfied. I have nothing but good things to say about checkpeople.
Customer care was exceptional during my request! Thank you checkpeople. I am giving five stars for their support.
Many websites claim to have updated data but checkpeople was pretty accurate for my needs. So it is useful for everyone.
Good product and will continue to use it moving forward for my own personal use. Very faithful for me and my relatives too.
Very nice looking website and thorough report when I have used the reverse phone number lookup tool.
I specifically use the background checker when I meet with baby sitters for my kids. It has been very useful narrowing down the right person.
Make sure you call if you are looking to cancel when you are done. They will help you stop the recurring payments after the trial.
Super easy to use website! I have nothing but good things to say about checkpeople. Will definitely use their services again.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
