I want to share my extremely disappointing experience with Check24, Auto Europe, and Alamo regarding my recent car rental at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. I booked a rental car through Check24, arranged through Auto Europe, with the actual rental by Alamo. Everything seemed fine at booking, and I provided my flight information ahead of time. However, on the pickup day (August 04,2025), my flight was delayed by just 30 minutes. Despite this minor delay, Alamo did not hold my reserved vehicle and instead gave it away to another customer. I was left without a car, yet was charged the full rental price for a service I never received. I immediately contacted Auto Europe requesting a refund, but they declined, stating that Alamo charged the full amount and therefore they cannot reimburse me. They also suggested I seek compensation from the airline, which makes no sense since this is a rental car issue, not an airline problem.Check24 also closed my complaint with a message that Auto Europe refused the refund because Alamo billed the full price, and they cannot do more to help. This entire process has been frustrating, unfair, and poorly handled by all parties. It's unacceptable to lose a reservation due to a short flight delay and then be denied any refund. The lack of coordination between Check24, Auto Europe, and Alamo has resulted in me being charged for a service I did not receive, with no resolution in sight. I strongly warn anyone considering rental bookings through Check24 and Auto Europe to be cautious, and I urge these companies to improve their customer service and refund policies, especially regarding minor flight delays
We booked a rental car through Check24 one month before our trip. Upon arrival at the Europcar location in Aachen, we were informed that they could not provide us with the car because my husband's German driver's license was less than one year old, despite him holding a driving license for over 12 years. As a result, we had to rent another car at twice the price of our original booking. We subsequently requested a refund from Check24 for the car we were unable to rent, but our request was denied. We paid for a service that we did not receive, and I strongly advise against using either Check24 or Europcar.
I rented a car through this site for 10 days in Germany. Even though I paid the full amount in advance, when I came to the counter of rental company at the airport, they did not want to give me the car without any explanation. I went to another company and rented and paid for another car. Rental24h didn't even want to pay me back the full amount of the payment, even though they didn't give me the car, but gave me less than 50% back! The case will end up in court and you should think carefully about whether to ever pay the amount to this "company" and use their services ever.
This site is sneaky. They boast having very low rental fees, however there are many added fees that the actual rental car companies that you pick the car up from can add on. I unfortunately ended up paying 75 EUR extra in fees which were not mentioned as valid fees to be charged in the booking document. I tried to argue this from a lawyer's perspective, stating that the terms and conditions did not allow for any of these fees, but the customer service I received from check24 was horrible and I unfortunately didn't get my money back. Luckily in retrospect the amount was so little. But watch out and definitely don't book with this company! It will cost you more than booking from a respected company!
