The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

I called and the first person hung up on me because i was calling the wrong department. On the second call a lady said she could not help me and transferred me and i was on hold for 30 minutes. Finally I gave up and hung up. I called back for the third time and A guy named Omar answered. The only thing I could understand when he spoke was his name. I asked him to repeat himself 3 times and all 3 times I could only understand him name and nothing else. The 4th call finally I got someone willing to help me and gave me yet a number to call. That number has a busy signal and as Im writing this I am still trying to get through to the number that I was given so I can resolve my issues. This is by far the worst customer resolution I have ever been through.
I have booked a long flight with these guys around 3 months ago - for a flight this long and with multiple connections, this one looked more convenient than the ones I could get elsewhere.
As a frequent flyer, I had thoroughly checked the fare rules and took a note of the date change penalty (CAD 50 + cheapoair service fees).
However they won't tell you what these service fees are when booking.
When I called to change date, first the agent took more than half an hour to let me know the penalty for the date change. Every few minutes, he would tell me that the process "is very complicated" and there might be "big penalties" (!). As a frequent flyer I found this very unconvincing, that the process of date change is complicated and costly.
Finally the agent let me know the total charge for the new ticket including penalty - I pointed out the fact that new ticket costs less than the old one (no fare difference) but the total charge includes a penalty of $470, which is absolutely ridiculous for a date change!
For the first time I had to bargain with an agent for a reduction in the penalty! The agent proceeded to charge me $200, saying Cheapoair decided to offer discount on the date change penalty!
I was being completely held hostage to them because they would not refund my fees if I cancelled, instead would keep the money as future credit.
When I insisted that the original ticket be cancelled to get future credit, the agent informed that there would be a penalty of $50 for the cancellation. After keeping me on hold for a really long time, he further informed me they would still have to charge an additional $200 as "exchange fee"! Which is comes to a total of $250, more than "discounted" penalty of $200!
In all, he charged me USD $200 (for me it's more than CAD 260 at current exchange rate) as 'post-booking fee'!
Later in the day I called them again and asked to talk to a supervisor. After three transfers and 40 minutes, I was able to get hold of a supervisor. Half an hour of heated exchange with the supervisor, including putting the blame on me for agreeing to get charged by the agent, and with the supervisor finally acknowledging (earlier disagreed without taking a look at Cathay Pacific fare rules) that THE PENALTY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY CAD 50 INSTEAD OF USD 200 (i. E. more than CAD 260).
However, they refused to return the extra unfair amount charged and said as a gesture of "good will" they will return only $USD 50 - in words, nothing in writing/email and it's supposed to take a few business days. Better than nothing, but a very expensive lesson learned!
I hope the review helps fellow travelers make an informed choice before purchasing tickets through their site.
I booked my husband a flight and paid 865$
Called back to make a change for a week earlier.
The first representatives told me that it will be 150$ charger for the change, as I'm giving my info the phone got disconnected for the first time (I was shore it was mistake at this point)
Called back and ask to speak to him and a different representatives told me I can't tell who was he and told me its 375$ now to change, at that point I was asking to speak to a supervisor. Which answer after 40 min and said now it's 475$ and transfer me agin to the #2nd representatives agin
Which answered me and said after I checked agin this flight can not been changed, we will refaun you 410$ and you can buy a new flight.
I told her if thy are salesman company that the price keep going higher ang higher so she start screaming that I don't understand anything and that she just "found " a coupon to help me so I'll pay only 370$ now. I said I want the supervisor agin so she just hang up the phone. This company need to be a shame that's this their costumes service!
I'm still overwhelmed
Terrible service, thick accents, untrained staff, unreliable pricing, fees, horrible wait times. Spents 6 1/2 hours on phone with 3 different employees to change a flight (that's the short version of the story). Got into a near screaming match to get a credit that in the end took 15 minutes to complete. Now in trying to turn the credit into new tickets. I was just off the phone... 1 hour 15 minutes. And got no where! This is no lie. They said they would call me tomorrow, I am not holding my breath. Worst experience ever!
You will lose your time, patience, and a lot of $$$
I've used this site twice now. I had an issue buying a ticket for my first trip but the customer service rep who assisted me was able to straighten everything out for me. I automatically check here first before I look for tickets anywhere else. On my second booking it was smooth sailing.
I used ChepoAir to purchase tickets on Alaaska. The agent told me the prices I had found earlier had gone up, later I checked and the had not gone up. He told me I needed to pay $15 per ticket in order to have our seats together. Alaska Air says I didn't. He did not tell me they charged $30 per ticket service fee! I know it's not the end of the world, but a large family on a tight budget, I over paid with ChepoAir by about $150. Chepo Air is not CHEAP, Just a RIP-off!
My sister had a baby sooner that planned and I had to change my ticket from a weekend to the weekend before. The customer service guys were so rude to me, One even used the F word with me and hanged up on me. Mind you I paid for insurance and needed the best possible way to go about changing my ticket. The second person also was s rude to me and put me on hold for 20 mins and eventually hanged up. The third and final person who i thought was helpful was even worse. After deciding that I will cancel my reservation with them, he didn't ask me for any payment information for the cancellation of my ticket and went ahead to charge a card that had a low balance and over drafted my account. Honestly I will never advice anyone to use cheapoair, the ticket prices might be cheap but google flights are much better. I will NEVER ever buy a ticket from these guys ever again. Lesson learned. PS. Cheapoair should stop hiring people who have no regards for their customers.
Customer was not agreeing to the terms and conditions of the ticket she purchased, The fares are non refundable, and there was an airline penalty that goes with the exchanging of a ticket, she was not agreeing to it. Insurance did not cover her reason for the changes therefore was irate. All of the calls reviewed by our staff found that our agents did not use coarse language, and in fact was the other way around. We do not tolerate rudeness to our customer's, and all complaints pertaining to such are handled within the guidelines set by our company.
They charged me cancellation fee (CAN $524.00) plus they did the partial refund for the price of ticket booked. Can you imagine who in this world does that? Even scammer on internet have better explanation than this site. Run away from this site. Repeated chat online resulted in one conclusion, send your question to support team...
I am 60 and I have travelled around the world for most of my life, therefore I have used many different booking agents.
NEVER, in my entire life have I encountered such appalling service as your company.
I had to cancel and reschedule my flight 3 times, and each time it was a complete nightmare.
1. Calls repeatedly dropped out, sometimes up to 10 times
2. Requests to call me back each time before the call dropped out never happened
3. Customer service representatives found it almost impossible to understand what I was requesting (a simple rescheduling of a previously booked and paid for flight) and it would take so much explaining to get it through to them
4. Each time they FINALLY understood my simple request, they would either take so long to enact it, or, the call would drop out again and I'd have start the entire procedure all over again!
5. Most times it would take 7-10 calls over a period of 1-1 ½ hours to finally re-book
I have since spoken to quite a few people who have had the same horrendous experience with you.
I will NEVER book through you again, and I will make sure everyone I know for the next 20 years hears about my experience, including on social media and business colleagues and companies.

As the name says Cheap airlines are available always compared to other web sites
I PURCHASED A TICKET FOR 10/12/15, INSTEAD GOT ONE FOR 10/15/15, I CALLED TO CHANGE OR CANCEL AND AGENT REFUSED TO CANCEL OR CHANGE.
Booked a Flight with them. The flight was cancelled due to aircraft malfunction. Had to cancel planned trip because next available flight was two days later. The airline refunded my money but Chepo air refused to refund their $75.00 fee. Chepo is RIGHT.
I booked a flight online for early evening, I didn't get a booking confirmation to my email, due to a typing error on my part, so I used the online chat service to speak to someone. I didn't have my booking reference or a valid email for them just my name and the flight details I had booked, the guy was friendly and said he would forward it me. This was very late evening so I didn't check until the morning in which I found the flight times were very different to what I had booked. I rang customer services only to be told 'no you are wrong' and saying they had a 'screen grab' of me purchasing the later flight time, this picture only showed the price of the flight and time, none of my details or how many passengers or a confirmation, it was merely a pre booking page unrelated to myself. During the time frame of 1-7pm I spent nearly 4hours on the phone, being spoken over, referred, put on hold endless times and sometimes the phone would say 'the number you have dialled is not in service' after being put on hold for 40 minutes. I asked the first man I spoke to, to provide me with an email address that will be responded to promptly to address the problem within 24hours, I later found out the email provided (*******@cheapoair.co.uk) was an 'not urgent' query email. When someone did speak to me they didn't offer a solution just that I would have to pay $200 per ticket to change the flight to the earlier time. My ticket only cost £118pp and both flights cost the same, the flight is also for 7/8 months time, so the company would be at no loss to put it back to my original flight that I discussed online with someone. I even said I'd pay the difference is price changes that had happen since I booked it less that 24 hours ago. In my concluding phone call a supervisor called Irene was very rude and even ignored more for long periods of time, which I pointed out to her and she still did not reply. I expressed I had not once received an apology for the incident in the first place, being told I'd get called back within an hour, or for rude behaviour. Customer service training has obviously not been provided to any staff members at CheapOair. I will be escalating this further as the service I have received has been disgusting.
This is without a doubt the worst most incompetent company I have used. They make Comcast look like a outstanding company. I booked the reservation to Vegas( flight, Hotel and car) to later find out that there is over seven hours of wait time between arrival and car pick up, and 8 hours between dropoff and departure. I called them to fix this and I was transferred 4 times back and forth between different agents (In India by the way) and when I got to the right agent the rental fees increased from &50 to $88 which $15 was for reservation change even thought it was their mistake. Then I had to call again since I did not received a flight conformation three hours after booking and again multiple agents.
I made the mistake of checking the reviews after I booked, mistake. I would have saved my self a lot of trouble. So far I have been dealing with this for 3 hours and I have not finalized my reservation and have no conformation of flight. I at the point were they will force me to cancel my reservation
My elderly parents make a mistake a falling in the "Cheapo" zone. They paid roughly twice as much as they would haveif they just booked Southwest AND the Southwest flight was DIRECT. The "Cheapo" flight has a LAYOVER... between Los Angeles and Oakland!
It's obscene. The company is called "Cheapo" and the flights are twice as expensive. This sounds like false advertising and deceptive trade to me. My parents definitely fell for it.
And of course, the tickets are non-refundable. The flight is not for three months.
Never, ever ever ever ever make the mistake of working with this nasty, criminal ripoff of a company.
I also looked this company up on the Better Business Bureau, I found out there's been 696 complaints filed against their parent company (Fareportal) in the last three years.
No other company in the category even has 100 complaints.
I assume most of the positive reviews are fake by the company.
The customer's were offered the lowest fare that we provide. Southwest is not one of those carriers that we have published on our website. Insurance coverage was offered along with the terms of the coverage, they accepted, and later canceled it with a full refund.
I booked a flight through cheapoair for $360 for a round trip ticket from Ontario, CA to Portland, OR. Soon after a New York #(*******943) called me, it was a cheapoair agent with an Indian accent who lied to me by telling me the transaction did not go through due to a price increase. She then said that for $ 100 more the transaction will go through. I was obviously in disbelief and upset. So then the agent tried to persuade me into purchasing by telling me she was going to reduce the price by $50. I was even more furious because she was playing around with the pricing. I said no thank you and since the purchase did not go through I went to head and purchased through United Airlines which was $10 cheaper. The same day I looked at my bank statement and I saw a transaction from CheapOair and realized the agent that called me from New York was lying to get me to pay more. To make things worse, I called CheapOair to try to get a refund and they sent me on a wild goose chase. I have wasted a whole day and will need to continue tomorrow to try to get my refund. They should change their name to expensive air and if you want to save money do not use this company. Trust me stay away they will lie to you to get you to pay more.
They can screw your happiness when you try to book you flight with them. They try to charge you almost $100-300 more than the real airfare.
Sick freaks. I didn't book and decided never to book in my life
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket

Customer continued to call back several times and speaking with other agents. The change fee is standard so there is not "negotiation" regarding the airline penalty, however, each agent may of been reviewing different flight options, and routes. Airfares change constantly and each flight can be more expensive than the other, so depending on the availability, the fares will fluctuate. The customer finally accepted a flight after speaking with 4 different people that met with their approval. We also review our phone calls, and will certainly address the situation with any agent who is not providing excellent customer service, and not acting in a professional manner.
