The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

I purchased checked baggage with my ticket for an extra 36 dollars through their website. When I checked the airline confirmation they didn't add any checked baggage to my booking at all.
When I contacted their customer support they claimed they never charged me this fee. Funny, since the charge is on my credit card statement and on their own booking receipt.
They also told me I needed to purchase checked baggage through the airline, not through them. Again, this is strange since they will include the option on their order form and also take your money for checked baggage.
This is a very unethical company. They will charge your card and not deliver what they promised.
I am currently in the process of claiming a chargeback through my card provider.
Avoid them at all costs.

CheapOair
Horrible experience. I couldn't get on my fight due to an emergency last minute surgery... I had insurance, cancelled almost a month in advance (Feb, 2018). I have yet to receive my refund or a reason as to why it's taking months. Horrible HORRIBLE booking agency. It's a scam. They've hung up on me multiple times, or "the department that can help me is ALWAYS closed or unavailable". American airlines has already refunded the money to them that they're refusing to give me.
This has been resolved, our apologies for any inconvenience.
CheapOair
I bought my tickets and my rental car reservation from CheapOAir on Mar14/2018, by that time I didn't bought the car insurance but I was getting emails from CheapOAir to buy insurance for TPP ( Travel Protection Plan), TAC ( Traveler Assist Classic), BP ( Baggage Protection) and CPP ( Car Protection Plan) everything for a fee.
I will talk about my experience with CPP. Always, I purchases it from the rental car at the counter but after couple emails from CheapOAir, I decided purchased from them on March 16/2018 for my trip on April 03/2018
I reserved the car for 7 days but I used from 6 days so what the car company charged me was for 6 days but when I call TripMate for the refund of the extra day, they didn't want to do it. I asked him ( the representative from TripMate) to tell me where it same in the booklet about a standard fee but it didn't said.
And then, I called CheapOAir because they charged me for the third party service fee ( TripMate) but he told that the only thing the he can do is to give the feedback which I know that phone called was getting in the recording call from training purposes like they always tell you.
Why am I doing this?
How about if, I do a rental for 3 weeks but I use it for 2 weeks and I get insurance for the 3 weeks, it will be right for them to keep my money for some services I didn't use.
I want someone else to know that if you purchase your insurance protection from CheapOAir.com you won't get your money back for services you won't be using. I don't recommend to buy services from them.
CheapOair actually charge higher than direct airlines price. Also their cancellation policy is not helpful even if you buy protection plan. So I recommend not to purchase tickets from them and you will be upset
The trip insurance does not over a change of plans, as well as most travel insurance don't. It is to cover unforseen circumstances such as medical emergencies, admitted to the hospital, and each customer is provided a complete description of the coverage. This booking didn't qualify for a refund on a non refundable ticket due to the terms of insurance was not met.
I have cancelled my tickets within 24hours because of change of plans beyond my control. While they agreed to cancel my booking, they are charging me a cancellation fee of $75/person - total of $300. This is against the "24-hour reservation requirement policy by department of transportation. (https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/notice-24hour-reservation). I have submitted my complaint via telephone and in their survey. I will continue my follow up with all parties that can potentially make a difference.
This has been resolved with the customer, and the cancellation policy has been explained to the customer.
STAY AWAY FROM CHEAPOAIR!
The car rental company they provided me with (Hertz, a good brand in the US, apparently a really bad one in Israel) changed their rates, charged my card 3 times for amounts I have never signed or agreed to! CheapOAir are not willing to explain the charges or handle the rental car company. You are left alone, cheapoair refunded me back the amount they agreed to pay the rental company and saved their own commission as if to declare to the credit card company that they are not a part of the deal. They charged me $140 just to book the car? Are you insane? STAY AWAY FROM CHEAPOAIR!
Hertz made an error with the rate on the booking and was not honoring the booked price. After speaking with Hertz corporate office, they have processed a refund in the amount of $528.36. As a travel agency we do not control outside vendors and the policies, or their employees at the counter, we can only file a complaint on behalf of the customer, and in this case we did, and resolved it.
They will be so sweet to you, they will sell you on their amazing prices and great insurance. But the moment something goes wrong? You are on your own! They will not help, they will jerk you around, they will send you to the airline or rental car to solve the issue but neither will be willing to help as you baught your package from cheapoair. Try canceling! I dare you! They will charge you half of the price and claim (and I quote) due to a company policy we can not return the full amount, ask what policy! They just repeat the same line as they dont know. This is a scam! A commercial size scam! Find their reviews online! Every customer review will tell you they are 2-3 Star which means 1 as they tried to push fake reviews but were overwhelmed with bad ones. Stay away from them, the price is too good to be real!
CheapOair is SCAM they LIE, for international tickets you can't check-in two bags as you would normally if you buy elsewhere, and the reason is that they book your tickets and stops separately thus they wont fall into the same reservation... DON'T BUY from them AND THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU or PAY FOR YOUR EXTRA BAG and if your flight delays you have to BUY ANOTHER TICKET if you miss your connection AND their support doesn't give a damn if you call...
Don't forget to dispute the cancellation charges with your credit card company. Mine said they get this dispute from Cheapoair all the time. They had no problem reversing them. Don't let them scam you!
This company is a complete joke. First of all, you're definitely calling out of the country. Pretty sure it's India. These people have no interest, what-so-ever, in your travel plans or your budget. They just want to make as much money as they can off the cheapest flight they can get you. They will ALWAYS say, after you agree on a flight, that they made an error and the price will be a little higher. Even if you agree to that higher price, they, again, will ALWAYS say it might be $5 or so more or less than quoted. (Never less). I cancelled my flight with them within 1 hour after booking just because I wasn't confident that my flight, through them, would even be reserved when I got to the airport. I did not trust them. They then made me wait almost 30 minutes on hold for the cancellation department only to find out that there is a $50 charge to cancel. Not only that, there was a $50 charge to cancel 'each way'. Of course, I'll be disputing these charges with my credit card company, but BUYER BEWARE. This company is the epitome of disgusting and possibly illegal business practices.
You guys are despicable you sold my phone number to marketers, everything on my ticket you confirmed was not you did not give Alaska air special instructions for my invalid mother I will give as many bad reviews as I find places to do so worst company I ever found

This has been resolved, and our apologies for any inconvenience.
I booked via CheapOair (booking #*******) a pair of round-trip coach tickets between SFO and CHS. I later asked CheapOair to upgrade the tickets from coach to first class. I verified with the airlines (American and United) that they charge no penalties for such an upgrade. CheapOair should have charged only for the cost of the ticket upgrades and a second booking but instead it charged the full cost of both the coach tickets and the first-class tickets. Thus, I was overcharged for the full cost of the coach tickets ($1,392.20.) CheapOair adamantly refused to refund this overcharge. My credit card company (Capital One Visa) was useless in moderating this dispute--they merely accepted whatever CheapOair charged. Now CheapOair does not respond to my online correspondence. My only recourse for this grossly fraudulent overcharge seems to be a lawsuit but the overcharge ($1,392.20) is not enough to warrant such action. CheapOair must realize this. Are there any regulatory agencies that could influence this situation?
If you think that you pay some extra money, so in case your flight ticket needs to be cancelled, NO you are wrong. If there it's says that you pay 95 extra you get cancellation! They will tell you that they can't make a refund and call the insurance or Air company. Good luck to yourself to work with the insurance company! If you ask them where did I buy the ticket? However, the answer is call the Air company. Where did I buy the tickets from the Air company or CHEAPOAIR? They are LIARS! I lost 1300 because indeed my mom couldn't make this flight happened because she didn't get visa.
Due to the customer not having valid documents to travel she was denied boarding. The customer was not agreeing to the rules of the non refundable ticket therefore she was instructed to check with the airline to verify that the ticket is non refundable even if documents were not sufficient. Insurance usually does not cover this because it is the travelers responsibility to make sure all government documents are in order. We did not charge a $95.-00 processing fee.
Do not use this company. Avoid CheapOAir at all costs! They are by far the worst booking experience I ever had.
I purchased the ticket. When i was trying to see the travel information they have a page where they change my fly for a different day. I call then they can even speak english. And they want to carme more money to give me the original day. I request the cancellation and they charge me $30 for cancellation. When i check my account i have and extra charge for $76 that i don't know what is for. My problem was that they took the money and i didnt have money to purchase another ticket. I will never use this page again. The worst experience ever. I do not recommend to anyone
Angela, after reviewing the reservation we found that you booked the flight online and chose the wrong outbound flight, or later changed your mind. When we spoke with you, it was determined that the fare was too expensive for the date you needed, therefore just requested to cancel. We do have a processing fee of $15.00 per person on this reservation, and you accepted the fee. As for the $76.00 that is taxes and fees, and was included in your original total cost of the trip, and we do advise you that you will be billed in separate transactions but will not be more than the agreed upon price. The $76.00 has been refunded, along with the cost of the plane tickets. We do apologies for any inconvenience.
I've put in numerous calls to customer service already and no one can give me an answer. On March 13th, I booked our flight on AeroMexico from ORD to GDL for March 27- April 05. When I booked the flight, I opted to add our seats and reserve our AM Plus seats FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. The price difference was about $200. I called the airline to confirm our seating and I was told we have basic seating (not the AM Plus that I paid for in the initial booking). I then called CheapOair and after many transfers and hours on hold I spoke to supervisor who still could not tell me why our seats are not reserved. The supervisor was rude and insisted that we did not pay extra for the AM Plus seating. The invoice does not break down the costs of charges. I was transferred again when I attempted to cancel everything, was on hold for a long while then the line disconnected. I then emailed customer service and I still have yet to hear back from the company.
Searched and booked three itineraries with CheapOAir (all three had same first leg). One ticket issued. The other two: a supposed problem with credit card verification requiring phone calls and emails. With assurances that things were fine, but then no forward progress. Called to see why tickets were not issued. The answer: "We didn't issue the ticket because the airline raised the price significantly (over a few hours? Ok, possible). Why were we not informed? No reason, but they were ready to propose other solutions. No thanks, I'd heard about this. Went through the cancelation process: again, several calls; no response to email. Finally was able to cancel. Note that this scheme repeated for two independent bookings with different people, addresses, credit cards. Starting to see the same pattern here.
Found the same itineraries on a different web service, a few dollars cheaper, no problems.
If I had read all the other reviews before attempting to use CheapOAir, I'd avoid them. Now, I'm writing another one of those reviews to warn others.
Everyone reading this please do not use this company to book a flight. I book a flight and when I got to the counter the ticket was invalid. I was stranded in another country and I had to book another ticket with another airline to get home which costed me over $1200 more. What's more disturbing when I got back to the states I called them to get refund for the invalid ticket but they keep hanging up on me. So I called my CC company to get my money back. If you don't want to be stranded somewhere you don't know anything about please don't use this company.
I purchased two first class round trip tickets for almost $4000 and had to change the date. When I received my confirmation Cheapoair had not only change my trip date and charged me and additional $800 but they downgraded my first class ticket to coach! Really? This was done after I made it perfectly clear nothing was to change except the date. These tickets are for my daughter and her husband that has been deployed for 10 months to they can celebrate a missed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year Birthday and Anniversary. I have submitted a request that this be corrected immediately... so far NOTHING. Lets see what happens. I will take this all the way to CEO Sam S Jain if I have to. This is in my opinion a practice of no integrity dishonesty taking advantage and fraud.
Lisa, the flight was always in first class, our automation system reverted to coach class just on the email confirmation which was a glitch. But your family is and always was in first class, and that's what you paid for. Sorry for the inconvenience, and confusion,
They tell you lies to sell the ticket however. They cheated me saying that i can cancel my ticket within 24 hrs of the booking without any additional fees. I was trying to cancel my ticket within 12 hrs of booking but they say there is a 75$ cancellation fee
My Father who is 80 by mistake forgot to add a syllable to a name by mistake and they wanted to charge $50 dollars for fixing that or charge $400 to cancel our flights. They are a scam beware, they are the worst on the net. STAY AWAY!
Farid, our apologies for the inconvenience, but once tickets get issued and it's past the 24 hours from purchase you cannot change or correct the name. Rules of the ticket is mandated by the individual airlines. We have to request a waiver from the airline, and by doing so, they charge us $50.00 fee to provide the exchange, normal ticket exchange is 200.00 + so 50.00 is not a bad price. Your father did good for being 80, he made reservations for what 8 people, and to cancel everyone has a 50.00 fee. I'm sorry you felt that we are a scam, but going forward reviewing the reservation details on the screen before submitting for purchase will eliminate the need to call, and make a change if it's accurate in the beginning. We do appreciate your business, and it should be a piece of mind knowing your ticket is correct, and the $50.00 is cheap compared to what may of happened at the airport.
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket

When your credit card is declined, and we forward an email advising of the situation, we provide you with the options. You can either update the card information via a link we provided authorizing us to retry your card once again, or contact us and let us know you want to cancel. Unfortunately in this reservation, the credit card was updated and it did go through. A few days later when customer called to cancel or make a change the ticket was no longer within the 24 hour grace period, but non refundable. The airline penalty is $200.00 for this specific carrier, and the value of the ticket was $188.00,. Therefore it was a "use it or lose it".
