The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

I am trying to cancel the ticket and you made it very difficult to cancel
After you pick the dates and they gave you prices and you select the price & date you're comfortable with. They let you pick your seat but there's extra charges for almost every seat. Once you put your information and ready to make a payment it says the price have been changed to $50 to $100 more, and if you say decided not to book a flight with them your phone will ring within 2 minutes and they try to negotiate prices with you over the phone.
Booked a flight on CheapoAir last night. As the booking was finishing, I got a message that the transaction had timed out, please try again. I "tried again" but nothing worked. I called their customer service and was told "Our systems are down, please call back in 3 hours". So I went to the airline's site and booked my tickets. Two hours later I got an email from CheapoAir telling me that my booking had, in fact gone through - here are your tickets. So I called CheapoAir customer service again and was told, essentially "too bad, so sad". Told me I had booked the tickets. I told them their web site had timed out. They said that's not their problem - I can't get a refund.
I booked and hours later got an email that said my booking FAILED and was not confirmed. So I made other arrangements. Then they charged my cared. They will not honor their own email and will not give me a refund. Total Scam. My credit card company issued a credit and then took it back due to Cheapo air giving them false info about what happened. So Im totally screwed and out $700. Unless I want to hire an attorney. Unbelievable.
Just bought ticket, price was added with unwanted service. Also when I change date they charge my card twice. But now they are telling me it will take weeks for refund. At time of sale never told me that my card will be charged again. All sales person working unprofessional manners and not giving up front clear information. Absolutely unhappy and completely disappointed.
Why would anyone use these guys!? The change fee to change our travel in Tahiti to one day later was $454 and the original cost for two one way tickets was $301. I had to go to Travelgenio and buy 2 new tickets for a total of $327 instead. Their fee to change is $55.07 per ticket.
They will try and pressure you to purchase tickets and will over talk you, interrupt you and try to over charge you. They will call you back and keep trying. Worst experience I have had dealing with such a company. I will never use them again.
Horrible agency, I don't suggest anyone use this company for booking anything. This is the garbage company at all!
Don't accept a booking with cheapoair at face value. Was left stranded 300km from my final destination because the car I was assured was waiting for me was never booked. When you call there customer service, they really could care less about the inconvenience or the loss of a customer
They have a zero support for their customers and it should be called expersiveoair NOT cheappp.
1-I booked a flight with them and everything was ok and they were just very respectful over the phone...
2- the problem started when I was denied to get into return flight and they started to ignore me, imagine I was in the airport for two days. I called them and ask them for a help.
3- after one week, person from cheapaoair called me about customer satisfaction, so funny and I told her the story... she offered me $100 gift card, I told her that booking another ticket cost me $1475,
4- their manger called me and asked me to sent receipt of the ticket for the reimbursement. I sent them the receipt and again no response.
I think they just play a game and trick the customers. I won't never ever again book any flight with them...
After over an hour this site would not honor the travel insurance I purchased. I had to pay more fees to cancel my trip due to a death in the family. What good is their travel insurance as it obviously did not cover the cancellation I had to do. I also was only refunded 30% not the full cost of booking. What a scam. Stay away!
This is absolutely the worst "suppoed" booking company.
My itinerary was from Bangkok to Montreal connecting through Shanghai...
Well, it was not a "connecting" flight and i had to clear customs in Shanghai and emergency travel document doesn't work.
Asked for a refund as this was not displayed, got yelled at from a bunch of Indians scammers, talked to supervisor and argued it was a connecting flight.
I was at the airport directly in front of Air China staff for two hours and they even asked Chinese Immigration to authorize but couldn't do anything.
Supervisor said it will process my refund... (ticket was 8xx$ USD), got an email for a refund of 16$!... called again... on hold for. Wait... 50 minutes!
Complete nightmare... DON'T USE THIS SCAM ORGANIZATION.
THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM CHANGED OUR BOOKING DATES! We booked a flight to Lyon Leaving on Aug 10, and returning on August 26th 2019. We both had to go back to work the following day on August 27. The confirmation of our flight arrived by email showing a return date 2 months later! (October 26!) We didn't notice the date change until the night before our return August 25th. That night, we spent 2 hours on the phone (at $2 per minute from France!) with an agent who insisted there is no way to change the date back, since it was a non-changeable ticket. They made us buy a brand new one-way ticket to come back home for $1700. Going through our browser history confirmed that we entered the correct dates, so we know it wasn't OUR mistake It could be that their system changes the dates intentionally to generate revenues from re-bookings. We have applied for compensation. Still waiting.
I see many of these kinds of situations and stories from other customers. If anyone out there knows what the best way would be to get action in terms of refunds and compensation from these people, please let us know. Something needs to be done to shut down this scam.
Researching a round-trip flight on specific dates I chose to purchase through CheapOair because they were $50 cheaper then the airlines website. Immediately after the purchase I checked the itinerary only to find the dates had changed and I had to call to fix that. 2 revert the schedule to my original request would have cost an additional $130 which is $70 more than what the airline itself would have charged. I am angry and frustrated that I had to pay another $25 to cancel the flight and it's going to take me 7 to 14 days before my money is refunded. The only thing that was good about the whole terrible experience was the customer service rep was sensitive to my requests but the heavy accent was very difficult to understand what he was saying. CheapOair is a total scam!
Because of the hurricane Dorian we tried to cancel our flight next week When the hurricane is supposed to hit. But to no avail wouldn't even give us credit for a future flight
I have had several issues buying from ChapoAir. The latest was purchasing "insurance", a hurricane headed towards my destination and being told the insurance only covered if the Airline cancels the flight! Why did I purchase insurance. I am an idiot. There is a reason these flights are less expensive. From now on I will go through reputable bookings.
While the booking experience was certainly a trying learning experience with the company, the company did contact yesterday to confirm they will reimburse the one night hotel stay as they originally offered that we both agreed to during my booking a couple of months ago.
So even though I haven't officially received confirmation of the credit reimbursement on my card as yet (they advised it will take up to two weeks to receive it), I do give them credit and some kudos for hopefully sticking to their word on the reimbursement and their customer service staff was actually quite prompt and pleasant to deal with in this situation.
Just spent pretty well the whole day with several of their customer service reps from where-ever ( I think Philippines, India) and could barely understand one of them whose English was so bad, you had ask him twice what he said.
The situation was I had booked a one way flight from Canada thinking I could save some coins by using one of these smaller aggregate sites for savings as suggested by a friend who had used this site but obviously, it didn't turn out well for me. Because I had a booked a flight at 11:00 pm and thinking a 24 hour cancellation policy was in effect, i could cancel this flight in the morning if needed but I woke up and realized I had booked the wrong flight which turned out to be over 29 hours in duration (holy smokes) instead another flight that was half that time. So my bad, called them to cancel the flight in the morning and they offered to cancel the flight for $100 which I then informed of the 24 hour cancellation policy but they informed that only applied to US citizens so I was SOL, then I complained and was forwarded to another agent who suggested they can book me on a different more expensive flight and charge me a cancellation charge and the difference in flight costs. So here on the second turn, the offer was the cancellation charge and the up-sell charge which would have amounted to a cost of several hundred dollars more which I declined, finally on the third attempt, they forwarded to me to another agent who as I noted I could barely understand (but seemed like a nice enough chap) who said he could cancel the flight but had to charge me the trip cancellation policy and refund me my initial payment which I agreed. But after all my calls and time, I get a final call from this last agent who tells me he can't cancel the flight because its nonrefundable and that he would refund my policy payment that I agreed to and that I was SOL again.
What a bloody nightmare of an experience! I learned a valuable (terrible) lesson here that when its cheaper, it most often means crappy service and warn others to just book the flights from the airlines instead.
Update: Just received a call from customer service where they apologized for the experience, however, couldn't provide a refund but offered as a partial compensation to pay for a hotel stay for the long overnight layover which was accepted (still remains to be seen if they fulfill this compensation) but still an ordeal.
Update - Thank you SiteJabber for yr assistance - Posting here has resulted in CheapOAir making good and refunding the extra costs incurred.
The booking process to book the flight was absolutely easy and very pleasant within the 24 hours where it says you can call if you need any help to make changes with the time or if you have any issues it would be for free with certain issues. I wanted to change the time on my flight and arrive earlier it was not even 24 hours later when I called them back. They charged me $200 so I paid it and understood what they said. Well now here's the 2 mistakes that happened, originally my boyfriend paid the ticket so his card is on file so when I was paying the $200 switching fee I said please do not charge my boyfriends card here's my debit card & read it to them, well customer service comes back to me and says oh my gosh we have a problem I accidentally submitted it to your boyfriends card the card on file. I don't believe this I think he just wasn't allowed to charge a new card and he purposely charged my boyfriends card, (maybe not) but even so he made the mistake and I was not permitted to charge my boyfriends card, I was not authorized, so I hang up the phone I get my flight details they email to my boyfriend email come on I'm the 1 flying I told them email it to me which they originally did the first time so then a few days later we noticed it's not the proper time it's going to get me to the concert late so I call back 8 times now even talk to supervisors a few times they want another $200 switching fee and I have to buy a new ticket which would bring it up to another $430 I don't have it so now I'm going to miss my trip and miss a concert and my bf paid over $500 plus switching fee because after Vegas I'm going off to Arizona for a family visit. I paid $300 to meet and greet the artist before the concert. Now what do I do were out a lot of money and a beautiful plan trip coming up in September no family no concert! You mean to tell me they can not just put me on an earlier flight and have a heart? This is disgusting when I already paid a $200 switching fee and they made a mistake and charged my boyfriends card and sent the email with the flight details to the wrong person's email address. I'm going to put this review on every website to help others learn what they're doing. I've now read awful reviews on many other websites. Never again! I will book right through the airline.
When I called cheapo air for changing my booking date, they put me on hold to check with the air lines policy and they said that I have to pay $450. For changing the booking date. I told them to cancel it.
I got full refund from the airline but cheapo charged me$149.00
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket
