The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

I tried cancel my flight. I was on hold 7 hours. It's easy to bay ticket, bat if you need additional service
You stay alone with the problem
My flight I booked last week has now dropped to 50% off per flight which adds up quickly when you have 5 passengers. I sat on hold for 40 minutes and the lady told me they should be able to help me with my request. They i sat on hold for 30 more minutes where I was asked to do a survey they disconnected. I emailed and was never called just a quick brush off email. Very disappointed since we have always had such a positive experience with this company.
1) i search for s flight on sunday. 2) in fine prints they offer a flight on saturday. 3) i book the flight 4) now i am bad becuse i did not read the fine print 4) i call to change the flight. 5) i am put on hold for over 3 hours 6) i am told sorry please be on hold i am trying 7) its almost 3.5 hours and i am still on hold :(
The company does nothing but sell you a ticket at the same price as the airline. Then they hit you with all sorts of useless add ones and insurance. I tried to make a name correction on my ticket and they wanted to charge me $100 on top of what the airline wanted to actually do the change. If you want to use them to search for different flights go ahead but don't book through them. There is no advantage and will probably costs you more.
They charge for 2 check in bags ($100), even though we had only one. And and on top of that we needed to pay for the returning flight! So we overplayed $80. I was trying to call the company, but they said they can't help me.
Very upset and disappointed!
Truly terrible. I booked through cheapoair.com because of the good reviews and also their "Best Price Guarantee". BPG is when you find a cheaper flight within 24 hours, they price match. Nowhere on the website in plain site, does it say the price match has to be with one of 4 competitors. I found a cheaper flight through kayak.com. I went to the website and they provide simple directions to get your price match. Email screenshots of the better deal (again no mention that it had to be 1 of 4 competitors to qualify) within 24 hours. So I did this within 24 hours. I even called customer service (waited 34 minutes on hold to speak with someone) to make sure I was following proper procedure. Once I spoke to someone, I told them I found a cheaper flight on kayak. She told me the same instructions as the website... submit claim online. She did not mention that kayak wasn't a 1 of 4 competitors. So I submitted my claim. They emailed me back a few days later, saying I wasn't using a 1 of 4 competitor and that I'd need to submit before 5 pm that same day! I'm a doctor and I don't have time to check my email throughout the day. I missed this very small window of time they gave me. So I submitted the next day when I actually read the email, through orbitz.com (a competitor) and now it's too late. False advertising. Poor customer service. Never again. So disappointed.
Their customer service is horrible! I know we go the whole "Coronavirus" thing going on. My flight with them was involuntarily changed. I see a better option on their website. I have been trying ALL DAY to connect through chat and I either get disconnected or thrown off to someone else who I literally wait hours to chat with and conveniently get disconnected. I even used ALL my international minutes (added more minutes to plan, I'm in Thailand) and used all my added minutes trying to call them. THEY JUST DON'T CARE. I AM JUST ANOTHER NUMBER TO THEM. I need a booking site that is more reliable, especially during busy times. It's a shame, cause I liked them now more then Orbitz/Expedia.
We booked through them because we heard great things about their customer service. We could not have had a worse experience. First, our inbound leg was cancelled by the airline (air canada) with no explanation (not Cheepo's fault) and we called to get it fixed. It has been an absolute nightmare! I have been on hold for hours at a time and each time they say, "wait longer. We'll call you back." But they never do. I have to call again and wait on hold. For hours. Then we were told by an agent that we should call the airline to fix it. Why did i book through an agent if im calling myself to fix a problem that the airline won't talk to me about?
Now our departure date is fast approaching with no resolution. Save yourself the aggravation and book through the airlines directly. At least they will try to help.
On the 4th flight I booked with CheapOair, my name appeared on my ticket not showing my full middle name. There is a warning on the ticket that your name must match EXACTLY your government issued identification. I went on Live chat to ask if this would be a problem at the airport. I was told I would need to fill out a waiver and show 3 forms of i.d. Having only my passport with me, I called CheapOair on the phone for guidance. I was told the only way to fix it would be to make a new reservation. The price? Double what I had already paid! I said I would contact the airline directly first. I was assured they would be unable to do anything and there were only 2 seats left so I should book it right away. Instead, I called the airline directly and they said there would not be a problem at check in. The next day, the day of my flight, I did receive an email from CheapOair letting me know the airline would accept my ticket. So, was it just that particular employee who felt he had to use intimidation tactics to try to convince me I had to purchase a new ticket? Not a way to build customer loyalty. I will just book with airlines directly in the future.
I plan my first family trip and it went totally wrong and I had no refunds even tho I had bought a " insurance" for protection worst service and made my experiences really bad
Too bad for cheapoair customer service during the Corona season, I wanted to cancel the flight, but all the staff didn't support it, they just responded carelessly and not enthusiastically. I really regret buying tickets through Cheapoair. Never use again
We use CheapOair quite frequently with my family and my business but this trip I screwed up and put Dayton Ohio for the airport instead of Daytona Beach and submitted it by mistake I called the customer support number and was on hold for an hour then got hung up on and was on hold for 45 minutes got through they said there's nothing they could do. I was not asking to cancel the trip I was still going to use everything but they would not help me so I used another third-party air travel agent. I did not choose trip insurance because I have no way out of this trip and did not expect to need their help. Terrible customer service I will not be using them again and I will be letting everybody know how I was treated
Cheapoair has very poor and frustrating customer support. Put on hold for 41 minutes. The recording says estimated holding time is about 15 minutes. It counts down every minute. After 15 minutes it say estimated holding time is 15 seconds. It keeps saying the estimated holding time is 15 seconds for the next 26 minutes. I finally gave up.
Very bad agents and upper management. Very long hold times. Agents don't bother to even hear the customer out and just keep transferring to departments. They also call back late night even after customer requesting them to call back at a specific time, reasons like meetings are given. Later when I call next day they just change the process and change the conversation. All of the agents and managers sound disinterested and rude. The company is looting by charging the customer high rates. Very insensitive to customer needs and requests. Don't ever use this website for booking. They are the worst in the market.
They are Horriable in every category. Customer service stinks. Spent hours on the phone with them to book my flight. Their customer service doesn't speak good English. They are Horriable
I booked a business class ticket on Singapore Airlines through this site. Singapore Airlines allows you to easily change your schedule, etc. when you book through them. When the airline changed their schedule, which disrupted my trip, I had to pay over $1500 dollars to work around the airline's schedule change. And it took in total about 16 Hours of time on hold with the Cheapo "customer service" bots. And I still haven't received confirmation of a new itinerary.
Save yourself a great deal of grief and book with the airline, or anywhere else.
I selected flights from kayak, they directed me to three three third party brokers. Cheapo being one of the three evils. Never booked through cheapo and never will again. I went through the process and booked flights that worked with my schedule and cost 230. I decided to check my confirmation to find they had booked me on completely different flights with one being a different carrier, different times and charged me more, 310. I contacted them through chat and was jerked around. Their person acknowledged the flights I had booked and the cost yet told me one or both flights were not available. I told them that their system should not have allowed me to book and even if this did happen, they had no authority to book me on different flights and times and charge me more. I asked that they cancel the flights. They placated me by saying they couldn't do that without a supervisor permission and they would have a supervisor call me in 24 hours. Yeah, they called two days later and left a message saying they would change the flights for a cost. REALLY! Your going to charge me to change flights I never booked? What the did cost me more than the cost differential on the flights. I had to pay someone to pick me up at the airport at 11:45pm and my dog sitter to visit my home additional to take care of my dog. All told they cost me over 200 dollars when they took it upon themselves to change my booking. I told them up front if they did not do the right thing I'd make sure the public would know about their practices. I advise you not to book with cheapo or any of their sister companies found at fareportal. Scammer alert.
My experiences with CheapOAir are:
Miserable operator and email service!
By rebooking operator charged 50 $ more then the original price was while informed not about a ticket upgrade, this is a clear case of fraud!
On multiple request to delete my credit card details from their data bank comes no reaction, so this will become a case for the attorney of New York!
Original review (update below): My flight booking experience was smooth, but my subsequent interactions with CheapOair have been very disappointing. This May, I am flying to Phuket with a friend. We depart from different US cities, but planned to meet in Toronto where we would take the same flights to Seoul and then Phuket. I was confused when my friend's booking began showing that her flight from Toronto to Seoul would no longer be possible - especially because my booking for that same flight showed no changes. My friend called CheapOair as instructed in an email. That call took over two hours and involved her speaking with five different CheapOair representatives. Obviously, that is unacceptable. Eventually, a representative determined that I would need to change my flight, too (my booking through CheapOair still does not show this). Now, my friend and I need to coordinate our trip again, despite thinking we had accomplished this in December. The process has been far too time-intensive and I don't expect to purchase using CheapOair again.
UPDATE: CheapOair addressed our situation and helped us come to a resolution. The CheapOair booking agent with whom I later spoke was very helpful and easy to work with. The process took longer than I would've liked, but CheapOair did a great job of helping after I posted the review above. I appreciate their willingness to address and alleviate my earlier dissatisfaction.

Very Great experience. I am so excited to have a good price for my flight. I might likely recommend this site to family or friends.
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket
