My checking account was hacked and the bank had to close my account and open a new one, but the bank failed to notify me and my monthly billing by carshild was kicked back. I received an email by Car Shield advising of the issue. Thats how I found out what my bank had done. It was a mess having to call everyone of my accounts to straighten my billing. The lady at Car Shield was so gracious and had total empathy for me and advise me to call back with my new bank information. She said not to worry. That was peace of mind for me. And, I asked her to please send me what is covered under Car Shield. Also, I'm a past General Motors service manager I I know about mechanical failures and about extended mechanical policies. When our car broke down we had to call Car Shield but! We first pulled out our contract to see the suggestions it tells us to do it made everything efficient and effortlessly. We used one of their preferred repair facilities and we were on our way to being able to get the issue at least handled. The repair shop then talked with Carshields claims department and let them know what the problem was with our vehicle. The repair facility assistant manager then let us know that we will be getting a call from Carshields claims examiner to speak with us about how we wanted to proceed with the repair i. E. meaning do we want to pay more for the repair facilities parts or use Carshields parts that will be shipped to the repair shop this was the information from the repair facility. We waited for the call and waited and the day was drawing to a close so we called Carshield back and let them know we had not heard from the claims examiner for a repair to be approved. We were immediately put in contact with the claims department and to our surprise to claim it already been approved they had talked with the repair facility and the facility was trying to put their parts on saying that this was what it needed without talking to us to see if we wanted their parts or the parts from car Shield, this would have made the out of pocket expensive for the repair facility. After learning this we let Carshield know that we are willing to get the parts shipped from them and just have our $100 deductible and our claim was approved again but with our decision wether to use the facilities parts or Carshields. If you require a diagnostic ran on your vehicle you are responsible for the diagnostic which is in our opinion better than marked up repair parts. Our experience with Carshield was reliable, efficient and transparency was definitely a part of the situation we had. Thanks again and we implore you to read your contract it's self explained.

At my age money is tight. I'm alone $1000 isn't easy to get. Please think about it I took this to help me. Not to keep paying out of my pocket an pay the monthly payment

1.) My Experience with Car Shield was okay, but it could have been better. I had a compressor replaced on my 2002 CAMARO SS at Wentworth Tire. Because Wentworth Tire was not an approved Vender by Car Shield, you guys made me pay more than the $250.00 Deductible for this repair. 2.) It should not take 3 to 5 Business Days for Car Shield to give out any REFUNDS, like they did in my REFUND case. The minute that a REFUND(S) are approved by Car Shield, then they should be back in your Bank Account within seconds...

Upon further review, it appears there were discrepancies between the part prices provided by the repair facility and those listed in a nationally recognized labor guide, which resulted in costs beyond your $250 deductible.
Regarding the refund timing, we understand that waiting 3 to 5 business days can be frustrating. While we process refunds as quickly as possible once approved, the actual timing can depend on bank processing times, which are unfortunately outside our control.
