Thank you Auto Max! The first time Ive ever had a good experience buying a car! This dealership is amazing... NO pressure buying, helpful, friendly sales team! I highly recommend Clarence Smith in sales, he was very patient and knowledgeable. Dan in finance was very personable and went above and beyond to help us. All around good guys with a moral compass...
I get that a lot of dealers out there have issues with cargurus but as a car buyer I had a good experience. I especially enjoy seeing car listings like you would see Home listings on Zillow, price drops and all. The app on Android could use some updating though.
My family have been using DARE for 35 years. They are the best! They have the ability to make sure that the customers needs always come first.
They (Jonathon JT, Laura and their great team) are extremely diversified as they do auto mechanical work, body work and have an outstanding component called Jonathan's Auto Outlet. The outlet simply is stocked very well with cars. I have purchased, sold to Dare and sold on consignment with the auto outlet several times. Each time has been a pleasure. Again, DARE is an outstanding option that I use and highly recommend to anyone if they have car problems or are in need to sell or buy a used car.
We had an excellent experience with Donald at The Auto Factory in Peabody. Our daughter was able to buy her first car with no hassle. Donald was so nice to work with. She got 4 new tires and, a replacement part in the trunk, and it was sparking clean. Definitely will go back again when our son is ready to buy!
Great experience. I have now bought two cars through Scottsdale Auto Group! Best Dealership I have ever dealt with. They are honest and very straightforward. They are here to make you happy! The General Manager Adam has a very ethical drive to find what you need and want. They are not pushy and wont sell you something you don't want. I will continue to buy ALL my cars through SAG!
Thanks Car Gurus
To be short and to the point... I received the best offer from them(like other reviews, almost to good to be true); even though I was a little nervous about the process & with concerns from my family I followed through. The paperwork arrived; the vehicle was picked up; documents signed; payment deposited & loan repaid. Highly recommend Cargurus/Caroffer if you're trying to sell your vehicle.
The filters work, but. If I filter results not to include cars over a certain price and mileage none are shown. Even the sponsored listings are filtered unlike autotrader and cars.com. Annoyances are the full screen popup banner asking to login with Google account and the homepage lands on "sell my car". Also you can't search multiple specific makes. So if I search Camry, blue, under 50,000 miles, under $30,000, no accidents then I want to look at an Accord with the same filters, too bad. When Toyota is changed to Honda all filters reset and you have to start from scratch. Other sites do multi car searches better.
Car Gurus provided useful info for my purchase, as far as it went. They have no way of knowing that a vehicle has been wrecked while the dealership still owns it, and uses it as a lease, loaner, or demo. In my case I bought an "executive demonstrator" with some 6k mi. It had been damaged involving extensive bodywork to the rear of the vehicle including the lift gate, rear window and bumper. The dealer was able to repair the damage without having to disclose it to anyone.
Very shady business at least in San Diego. Tried to change agreed upon price for my car at last minute. Gave reasons that were untrue and fabricated. Wasted my time and I passed on two other offers based on price they gave me. Dishonest.
Placed two private ads on CarGurus. Went to check on them a few days later and when I attempted to sign in I received a message saying the account was disabled. No reason given. Both were normal, straightforward ads. Very disappointed and will not be using them again and will let others know about this as well. I would give them a zero if possible.
Was offered a price for my car. Went through the entire process of scanning and uploading docs, their inspection process and all of other hoops.
Once I did that, I got an email that 'The buyer that put the offer in on your car backed out'. Their new offer is $5,000 less than the original offer.
Without documentation proving this actually happened, this smells like a bait and switch situation going on here. They can put any price they want initially, and then if you bite on there offer, oops...
Their offer was way off the mark as I sold my car to another dealer owned by a well-known company, for $5000 more than CarGurus $8,850 offer, and the next lower offers I got were 2 at $11,000 and one at 12,500 before selling it for almost $14,000
I also noted that it was offered for sale by that dealer a few days later at double your offer and sold in less than 1 week.
It would pay your to check other places that buy cars and compare. My sale went very smoothly at a price I was expecting compared to what my car was retailing for.
I was looking for an inexpensive vehicle and found one on their site. I contacted the dealership, test drove the car and bought it. The car broke the very next day, the dealership won't return my call and the dealership has at best a 1 star rating with MANY people reporting similar or worse experiences, but cargurus.com highly recommends this dealership! Find another site when looking for cars as you can't trust their recommendations.
They are scamming businesses and customer by supposably advertising your vehicle until you find out that vehicle is pulling on CarGurus website.
On our inventory list (CarGurus backend) vehicle listed but when we search its not pulling up and we called CarGurus and they said vehicle removed because there was too many leads. Point is you can price your car good price because vehicle will be removed and we think its listed.
Terrible website UX and even worse customer service. The practice of not allowing users to leave reviews for dealers who they haven't had a communication from is shady at best. Clearly they only car about the dealer relationship. You really can't trust dealer ratings/reviews from this site.
No advance search available so you can narrow your search down to exactly what you're looking for. Sorry but I'm far too busy to look at 200 cars instead of 8 or 9. Get with the times! Auto Trader has an excellent search engine if you need ideas...
Forces body type, set max price no option to keep unlisted prices from showing up. Also many deals are scams. Looks like no one really selling the car, by appointment only no one answers. They should kick them off the site.
In all fairness, these thoughts are mine and mine alone. I have purchased a car from a dealer off cars guru and was pleased. Great search tool. However, as a private party seller, I found the website to be very un-intuitive, quite difficult to navigate, and just unfriendly to an "occasional" user such as myself. There seemed to be a delay in response time and out of 5 questions asked of me, mostly "is this car still available", after responding yes it is, not once did I get any response leading me to think, Are the messages getting delivered? I do recognize that a great many folks are shopping a great many vehicles and most may not respond, but none? Anyway, I will probably use carsguru for buying from dealers but will not consider this site a tool for selling. Again, just my personal experience in selling has been a zero.
So my first complaint as a seller is the supposed ranking of listings determined by an arbitrary value. Moving your listing to the bottom because your price doesn't fit their algorithm is poor! If you have a more specialized vehicle, collectors vehicle, extra low mileage, etc., you will be discriminated against. I have a plethora of examples from other sites where my car has sold for more than my listing, but you have no recourse. It seems they are more about forcing you into their price lines, forcing you to purchase "premium listings", or other methods of gouging.
My recommendation, go somewhere else, especially if your vehicle doesn't fit their neat and tidy little parameters!
I found a car on here i wanted. I used their contact process. I get a response "I can show today". Tried to respond. Not possible. What kind of freaking idiots build a site like that? You can't respond back? When software pisses you off so bad you do not want to buy the car anymore just avoid entirely. These guys should be put in prison.
Answer: Everyone I contacted wanted me to purchase in full price
