Scared
October 13, 2018

I have not signed up for Care Credit yet, but I am getting scared. I have so much dental work that needs to be done, and I have no other way of getting it down besides signing up for Care Credit or getting a loan. I really need dental work done and I no longer want to walk around with messed up teeth. I'm only 26 and shouldn't be having my teeth look the way that they do. I go to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed next Friday, but I am paying out of pocket. Everything else that I need to get fixed I don't have the money for. But at this point I don't care. I would rather have my teeth fixed and then deal with the money issues later.

Horrible Customer Service
September 10, 2023

I wish I could have given 0 stars. The customer service I received on 9/10/23 was the worst customer service I have ever experienced to the point I cried. They will lie to you and they are not willing to help you with your problem.

HORRIBLE
October 6, 2016

I am the epitome of a solid citizen. I own my own home, I have worked for the same company for 26 years. I am never late on any of my bills. I pay Care Credit on time every single month. I always pay more than the minimum balance. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my initial credit limit of 3K was downgraded to 1800. No explanation was given. I tried to on line chat with one of the "customer service people." Total joke. No one could answer what happened. I will pay off my balance, close the account and never use these jerks again. Let's see what happens to their business when they lose all the customers that actually pay their bills. Hope they go out of business.

Worst of the worst

Even if you pay way over the minimum limit it is NEVER enough. This is modern day medical loan sharking. YOUr balance just grows like a weed. Paid them off and done. Please don't get 4454. 00 dollar interest charge I got on a 8909. 00 med bill. FIND A DIFFERENT SOURCE

After taking 4 months and multiple discussions with customer service to make the necessary adjustments, and me paying off the entire correct balance, I was left with a zero balance on the subsequent statement. Now as a result of their accounting mistakes, they are holding me responsible for the initial discrepancy which took 4 months to "resolve". They now take no responsibility for the error and tell me I should get an outside resource to explain the error as there was nothing more they could do for me! I do NOT recommend this company AT ALL! STAY AWAY!

Predatory sneaky tactics
February 11, 2019

Preying on people with absurd interest rates and policies that go unnoticed until its too late. If you do not pay off your ENTIRE loan within the "promotional time limit" they will charge you 27% interest (maximum allowed by law) on your ORIGINAL LOAN AMOUNT. Not your current balance... This means that you could have only $10 remaining on your account and if it isn't paid by the time the promotion expires, they will charge you hundreds upon hundreds of dollars. I borrowed $2,500 for an emergency dental operation. Had only $300 remaining and suddenly they charged me $530 in interest Driving my balance to over $800 when I only had $300 left to pay... This should be illegal...

I make numerous payments a month to pay off "promotional periods" quicker, however care credit allocates your payments where they see fit, causing you to believe promotional periods are paid off - when they aren't, and they they charge you outrageous on interest. I ended up paying close to $500 in interest that I shouldn't have since I paid off my promotional periods, but care credit allotted my money elsewhere. Company sucks, customer service is even worse.

Don't Do It!
November 9, 2016

Terrrrible! You open a card with no fees or interest. What they don't mention is that if you don't have the balance paid off by a certain day, they charge you all the back interest. They don't even set your payments up to have the card paid by said mysterious date. Its a terrible scam! And their customer service is horrendous!

I dont even know how what this company does is legal. They add the back interest, which on mine was $700 and now they charge 26.99% interest on top of the interest. Two months later $300 interest so now Im paying interest on 1K of interest. Its a joke. Dont do it!

First impression
April 10, 2023

I tried to pre-qualify 3X online - almost at the end, the site said "expired" & kicked me out -3X. So I called & tried 2X on the phone. Both times,in the middle of the process, I was kicked to representatives who had no clue why I was there & offered no solution. If this bank is a mess to deal with at application, what can it be when you owe them money? Maybe it's going under?

Now my wife has to have a ultra sound and just found out its not accepted there either. Just not worth the time

Pathetic... talk about getting screwed but unfortunately there is no other choice! Why can't a bank realize how much money they could make being ethical and competing with the multiple Sued care credit!

Have had 2 bad experiences with this card. My mother, 86 yrs. Old, 5 years ago got $7000 "coverage" at her dentist in Bt. Utah. And after have very little work done was socked with a huge bill. The dentist probably did about 3500 work of worth, but because they are paid up front, ( he was pd. The $7000) had NO incentive to do the rest of the job, or do it well. She has had nothing but pain and decay since. My husband recently, June 2019, signed up with this company, thinking it wasn't a credit card! Now we are already having problems with them. Fees and interest, even through he has paid 2500 towards the bill already. Its a SCAM. Im calling Utahs Consumers Protection Agency on Monday and discussing how this company practices.

Predatory fraud
August 23, 2018

I used $2000 of credit to hospitalize our dog (parvovirus infection). The minimum payments were dwarfed by the fees. When I did not pay fast enough they closed my account and sent a $3500 balance to a debt collection firm. I pay my mortgage faithfully, paid an entire car loan without a single missed payment, pay home insurance, car insurance, and paid off my reatail credit... all that work to build my credit and this terrible company destroyed it. After several attemptes to request correction of negative credit reports, they refused. If you know ANY business who does business with these folks, ask them to stop or threaten to boycott.

Used this for major dental work. If I could've thought about it instead of needing emergency work for pain I would not recommend. Recieved 1st bill with late fee already on it. Recieved 2and bill with late fee even tho I made 3 payment 10 days before due date. Called and customer service was very helpful I hope. Also if it is not paid during the "interest free time limits" my total DDS bill will be 8k instead of the original 2k. Was also informed my bill would be 70. Per month minimum, this is deceiving. It's based on a percentage of balance. Seems like this is legal loan sharking to me. Oh and I can use it for my dogs veterinarian bills. Yeah right

Unhelpful support
November 3, 2020

I am also very disappointed with the customer service at carecredit. I called twice about questions with my credit card statement and both times I didn't get the help I needed. The agents I talked to seem so unknowlegeable. They also talked down on me as I was trying to get assistance related to financial hardship from covid. The first agent told me they weren't even offering help, when it clearly says that on their website. Come armed with cold facts if you have to call them. They will just make up something to get you off the phone. So unhappy! Would not use them again after I manage to close these accounts!

I rather have hot poker stuck up my butt then deal with these Indians on the phone. They are stupid, ignorant, and rude. When you ask for a supervisor they leave you on hold. They called me on a Saturday and I could hear a baby crying and a cow going moo! He clearly wasn't calling me from an office. Then again he might have been. I paid off 11K in full for 7K procedure and they are still calling with balance I don't owe! Using this carecredit was the worst mistake of my life so I warn you against them because they will ruin your credit for no good reason.

I called to get my account number. The first guy hung up on me. The second time I called the girl told me they don't release that information over the phone. She said I had to wait 7-10 days when my card came in the mail. I set the account up onsite at the provider and I did not screen shot my approval with the account number. I needed to get a credit for services provided when I picked up my dog from the provider. The provider couldn't find me in their system. Terrible. This was clearly a mistake.

This is this worst credit place I allowed my dentist to talk me to enrolling. I paid for 6 months before I knew I had credit protection which I didn't ask for. Then noone ever explained if I did not pay the dental bill in 12 months that I would be assessed interest on the total bill and then interest & penalties would continue to be assessed. Look for interested ones for Class Action Suit

Got interrest free loan from CareCredit for 18 month. After 18 month my balance was around 3800 bucks. Now I got statement and balance is over 5000 bcs CareCredit charged me interrest since day I've been making payments for around 200 a month but that's been wiped out and I feel like the money I payed so far had been stolen from me. If I knew how crappy this deal is I would have not accept the loan. If I did something like this I would have end up in prison. How can this be even legal and what can I do about it?
