Want to warn everyone about care.com. I paid $100 something for the year and then an extra $240 for unlimited background checks. They did their background check on ME and emailed and stated they canceled my account due to findings on my background check. Only thing on there is a dismissed charge from YEARS ago. Then when I tried to get ahold of someone to either have them fix this bs or get all of my money back... they say the only way to contact someone is if I upgrade to a premium membership. It. Is.A. Scam! I would give it 0 stars if I could.

The process of applying was simple enough at the start; however, there were several points at which the site would reload, and my application started to look more like a babysitter application than the tutor application I had been filling out. Whatever, technical difficulties, right? Well, I get to the part where it says I need a background check. I put in my info, and it said my payment didn't go through. The next day, I saw not one, not two, but three charges on my account. Thankfully I was able to fix it through my bank, but support was 1) difficult to find contact info for and 2) super unhelpful. Not even a response to indicate they received my message. Do not attempt to work for Care.com. If you need to use their services, I completely understand. But seriously, try to look elsewhere. They are sketchy and honestly not worth the time or effort.

I purchased the premium membership and background check on 3/17/2023. My phone was stolen later that afternoon which has all of the information for this service. I checked my email on 3/19/2023 to request a refund and cancel the membership as there are no links to my subscription to access the account on the confirmation emails. There isn't a cancel subscription link on either of the emails as well. I sent them an email (3/19/2023) stating please refund me my money. They have charged me again (04/17//2023) for a recurring fee ($58.95) in which they refuse to refund me my money from the card. I am being charged for a service I never used and requested a cancellation by the best means I could. In doing this review they are asking for an order id; it is not in any email for the premium membership or background check..

Active duty military currently deployed with two special needs children. My Wife is home and needs the extra help so I tried to make a profile and reach out for a nanny that has a medical background and can work with the children's routines and my Wife who is a Registered Nurse. After my card was charged, I was told my account was shut down and I was not eligible to be on the sight, which took me by surprise. When I asked for a reason, they emailed back stating they were unable to disclose that information. (Really? Information assumably about myself that I am not authorized to see) Without the info, I don't know if there is false information about me, or even if my identity was stolen? Not sure. Just trying to take care of the Wife and kids while keeping my head down over here and Karen from the HOA's smugly letting me know she has a secret and I have to guess what it is. Thank you for your service, Karen. After searching care.com's reviews I'm starting to understand why they're held in such low regard. I'll be searching elsewhere and glad to have dodged working with a company that in a brief 5 minute interaction left me with a distinct impression that they are a clown show. They charge outrageous fees before you can actually get in contact with anyone, and I would be very surprised if most of these people they advertise are real considering the prices they charge. On top of that they keep rejecting my photo for who knows what reason. Perhaps if I were to pay them money to be a vip account I might be more sucessful. Just put an ad on gumtree. You will get real people and plenty of them. Don't get diddles by the scam artists.

Never active your credit card for any subscription. If you subscribe once they will charge you every month for no reason. They just charged me the 3rd transaction and this is not acceptable. I am changing my credit card to get rid of this ridiculous website and their random transactions.

Care.com USED to be a great site for connecting with potential clients. They changed their format and no longer allow direct contact with potential jobs. You have to either accept or decline a job without having a conversation regarding the details of the position unless you upgrade to a "Premium" membership. I already pay a yearly fee to even be on the site. You also can not contact Care.com via phone or email unless you have the "Premium" membership. This is ridiculous. When did this become a country club membership?
We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.

I like the program, however there is no place to write comments. I am going between my house in Denton, and my daughters house in Caddo Mills in Texas. I also am going back and forth to California so I need a caregiver who is flexible.
I have contacted you numerous times. I am a Premium Member CAREGIVER. My job lead list is frozen. Chat bots and customer service continue to bounce back ideas to generate more traffic. The problem is NOT on my end. We did some detective work and set up an account searching for someone with all the services I list. Including the hourly and price range parameters and MY ZIPCODE. We were able to find my work profile 3 pages in, 45 Profiles later, even with all the exact parameters. Then we opened my Profile, and it clearly states that I am "NOT AVAILABLE to book right now" We logged back out, and back into my Profile to comb through all of the areas. Nowhere does it suggest that I'm not available. It's a glitch in your system that was never updated after I re-signed up to be a Premium Member. Also, the job postings from families are frozen. They are not populating at all. I live in the Metro Denver area and it's almost 3 million people. My Profile used to get tons of traffic. Now, zilch. Zero. Please don't bounce back with ideas on how I can increase traffic to my Profile. Really have an IT person fix my Public Profile and update this matter so it goes back to how this platform is supposed to work for a paying member. No explanation. Just have them fix it. No apology needed. Just let me know (somehow) that someone read this, understands, and can prompt an IT fix. This back and forth with no resolution is exhausting. The Chatbot Help Center is lackluster and not good customer service. Bouncing back ways to drive more traffic to my profile and even telling me to upgrade to a Premium Membership when I ALREADY HAVE ONE means something in the background software of your subscription service is NOT working.

I have been on care.com for 2 years now and I'm just fed up with it. They have designed the site so that you it's very difficult to reach support and there is not enough protection for caregivers. Potential clients can not respond to you or stop responding all they want and they don't get docked on their profile for response time. Caregivers do and we're the ones paying for this service. So if someone is having a convo with you and drops off there are no repercussions for them. Also, if you meet with someone in person and the conversation ended with their last response, your profile gets a negative rating on response time. They also sell a premium membership with the promise that you can see who has viewed your profile, which is not true. Premium is also supposed to bump you up to first in line but it does not. Also, the site/app works intermittently with letting you know when you get a message and in the past year, I've had messages not show up for weeks or show in the inbox out of order by date. Just so many things wrong with their interface it's ridiculous. In the 6 months, I've had 2 people message. Messaged countless people myself with no response back. It's a waste of money. Post on facebook or nextdoor instead for jobs.

I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)

They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
