It seems like you can do a lot without a subscription but you can't do anything. You can search and find for people but once you find the ones you like, you can't contact them. I went back to the basic vs premium features and it said that I could post a job listing so I did that but when people applied to it, I actually couldn't respond unless I paid for the subscription.
Don't go through it unless you are willing to pay for it or else you'll just waste so much time.

This company is very dishonest. When you sign up to look for caregivers they sneak and put you on a premium account and charge you MONTHLY for using their site, even if you did not sign up or request. You chat and request, they say we cancelled and then you get another large charge on your card. OH, they have a no refund policy on top of that. You go online to find their steps to delete account. This is the biggest joke of all. They do not exist. Care.com is just a dirty as can be on dishonest charges. Several employees we tried to hire did a not show 3 or more times. Flaky as can be and we fired them. We never hired from this site but they still charge you a premium membership charge and YOU NEVER SIGNED UP for such services. DO NOT USE THEM.

Our paralyzed son was visiting for 4th of July and my wife was trying to arrange for care for him. She reached a dead end on the website and needed to talk to someone. The only way to reach a live person was to sign up for premium. She talked to someone and they couldn't help us. They billed us $67 and after several calls and e-mails refused to remove the charge. All they cared about was the $67 and provided nothing for it. Scam

I did get some leads and hired someone from the site who turned out to be very unprofessional. I was very disappointed. I also had accidentally opened two accounts and forgot to cancel one so I was charged for two months I didn't use. I asked them as a courtesy to refund one month but they would not.

I searched for a dog sitter, spoke with one of Care.com's dog sitters, never settled on an actual date. After I came back from trip, found Care.com had charged me the full amount for the dog sitting service. I filed a complaint, but only recieved a partial repayment. My wife and I used Care.com to find a dog walker as part of free trial. Low and behold, that free trial was not free after all! My wife reminded me to cancel the premium service before the trial expired, which I am certain I did. BUT, apparently this wasn't the case and we unknowingly paid for the service for nearly 2 years.
Like seriously we had no idea Care.com even existed until 2 weeks ago when my wife was looking at your credit card statement.
Now the issue is that my cancellation of service occurred nearly 2 years ago so I've already purged my inbox so I have not record. To make matters worse, I've received ZERO emails from Care.com over the last 2 years. Conveniently all receipts are just archived on their site and no notifications are sent via email confirm the purchase.

Watch out if you want to use this service for a month ONLY for childcare purposes. They state that "Care.com membership is a subscription service and is non-refundable stated in terms and conditions". Therefore, if you do not intent to let Care.com to keep taking payments from your bank account after a month, do NOT sign up for this service at all. There is no telephone number in their website and/or when you try to cancel your "after a month paid off", they just change your plan but do not cancel it. I had to cancel my card and open a dispute with them as they kept charging me for four months. I have not logged in to this service at all after a month paid off. I thought I had cancel it in their website and clicked on update membership before the 30 days expiry but they did NOT cancel it. I had no email and no notification from this service about the status of the membership at all. It just kept charging with the highest level of the plan (premium). I never paid or signed up for the "premium" level.

They will charge your credit card even after you cancel. I caught it 4 months later after I used it one time and the woman I supposedly hired to watch my mom for 4 days never showed up. I cancelled my account but they continued to bill my card. They then informed their policy is not to refund anything (even if it's fraudelent.) I finally found their phone number, but option 1 (billing questions did not work.) I had to push option 2 to get a hold of someone. They told me their supervisor would contact me in 48 hours, and again they lied.

Save your money! While on vacation we needed a babysitter for 1 day and after looking online care.com showed serval possible sitters at reasonable prices. I paid the monthly fee only to find out just 1 sitter was in the town we needed. Care.com was giving names of sitters 1-2 hours away from where we were staying for $50 per hour. When I tried to contact them for help, it said I needed to upgrade my membership. Care.com was not helpful and we never got a babysitter. What a waste of money! Zero stars!

99% of candidates on the site are stale - they do not log in, nor do they reply, nor are they available for work. For families looking for caregivers - i would recommend NOT using this website. There are plenty of others that have more active members. The Service Platform is good but the company employes a hook and bait strategy to lure you with a good deal to sign up and get your CC information. Then they keep billing you even when you try to cancelled. When I realized this I called and they told me they will not refund me even FOR THE UNUSED MONTHS in the future.
Customer service does not and will not help. The best they can do is to cancel for the next 3 months in the following quarter. I understand they will not refund me for the current month but there is no reason why they cannot refund me for the future unused months, except they try to make a few quick bucks.
So I do not recommend this site for anyone.

Tried a few caregivers from site. All had issues. Many lied about vaccination status and only one of the many applicants had an actual background check (though Care.com states this typically is only an issue for new providers many had been on the site for some time).
The site did not protect information and applicants mainly seemed interested in assets on site or information that could be gleaned from patients.

There is no free basic subscription. To respond to applicants you must have the so-called premium version. I was supposed to get a discount, but it was not applied. I mistakenly did an add-on, but the system would not let me remove it. There is no last check of total before buying. The biggest scam there is. I purchased the membership and found out that they charge for leads so I decided to cancel my membership. I called their number, it directs you to a their help website to chat with a representative and hangs up on you. You can chat with a relresentative only if you uograde your membership. Now I am stuck paying my membership even though I never once and never will use them. Tell me this is not theft.

This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
