I am so $#*!ing angry at this app. It used to be so simple and they changed it with the change I lost all my reviews and validations from people I've worked with for 10 years. It's way harder to navigate the app now and I get FALSE $#*!ING AD TEXTS with misinformation about the actual job listing. It's very frustrating and it's harder to find a job and communicate with people on it since they've changed the app. I'd give it a negative 5 stars. No help with customer service either. They've ruined the experience for me.
Do not use, they will charge you even when you aren't using their services. No monthly receipts are sent

I subscribed for a monthly subscription & they charged me over $130.00 for an annual membership. When I contacted customer service and explained the problem, they were not willing to do anything to fix the problem. They have the worst customer service!

I spent a great deal of time creating an excellent and accurate profile, on the paid level of premium service, throughout my busy days as I run an 22-year old Medical Engineering company. As a single father, with 100% custody of two 4-year old twin girls, it is critical that I am both efficient and find dependable services and people. I had several interviews setup when suddenly I could nolonger access my account. They deleted it and made no mention of a full refund until I pushed them to either restore my meticulously created account or immediately return my funds. There was no customer service number. And left with A.I chat replies I missed my critical interviews. This site treated me, in my moment of authentic need, as if I were some type of fraud. (Note: It took 2-days to get a profile photo of my daughters posted as the profile avatar. I was rejected due to being too big, then too small, then because it had "other" people--MY DAUGHTERS...then finally they accepted one of our professional modeling shots that had me in it with them.) Very difficult site. Unnecessarily so in this sense, where it really shows that they do not understand the time constraints, the stress, and the important of patience and understanding for the Parents using their service. What I ran into was radical intolerance, non-user friendly interface, and lack of customer service. Do yourself and your family a favor and find another service. I am going to try Nannylane and Sittercity or Urbansitter. Note: only many tries to contact them in email replies and chats did I receive a notice of my requested refund which finally has a phone number to call. (But at this point I will not be calling and will just move on.)

I signed up for the website after it was recommended to me by a neighbor. There are lots of kids in the area and I was looking to pick up a few jobs every once in a while. I was fine with the background check, I get it.
I'm a certified teacher and have a degree in education so I was highly qualified, and had great experience with all ages. I had lots of families reach out looking to hire me at my set rates ($20/hour) but they were all nanny jobs, not something I was interested in. I accepted some one-time jobs but the parents never responded or would just randomly cancel on me. I don't understand how they send the offer, I accept, and then they have to accept it or just ignore me?
On top of that, why are they taking almost 7% of the money that I am supposed to be getting? I hate having to set up a banking system through them, I'd rather get cash or Venmo like all my other babysitting jobs. Honestly, you have better luck as a sitter or parent checking your local Facebook group. I had great luck there and no one touches my money besides me.

Do not use these services, my aunt hired a guy from this site for my grandparents and he stole $******* from there bank accounts and opened a bunch off stuff in there name, and there is no way of contacting this company to alert them to removing the guys job listing without paying for a subscription to the site

I used care.com in July. The applicants they sent me had no references or relevant experience. After 1 week I downgraded my account in the settings so I would not be billed for another month. In November I saw they had been billing me $49/month, despite my downgrade. I contacted them several times and they refused to issue a refund, hiding behind terms in a user agreement. I understand recurring charges. What I do not understand is a company that does not downgrade the account when the user hits the big orange downgrade button. To lock a user in this way is known as dark pattens and is illegal. Stay away from care.com

I DO NOT RECOMMEND CARE.COM. It does not deserve a star. It is not a reliable source that provides the service you need; whether you are looking for someone to care for your loved ones, to care for you home, including job seekers.
DO TRUST A BUSINESS where you can communicate with professionals in person regarding your needs and concerns. A business that screens both who are looking for assistance and for professionals who can provide care. When it comes to your health, safety, well-being overall, please do your research and speak to professionals in person. Protect yourself from harm. Prevent and save yourself from financial grief.

Care closed my account for no apparent reasons. Why would I have to pay for the background screening if the account is closed? I want a refund, but it is impossible to reach anyone for assistance. I should not have to pay for this if I can't use their services. If I can't get the refund, I want to at least get my report.

We are part of the business side of care.com. I have called 100 families and have only had 2 enroll. We were guaranteed at least 1 out of every 20 I believe it was, clearly those numbers are falsified. We have done everything we were told to do, call, text, email, etc and most families never responded even still. I attempted to contact Tim, one of the sales managers over the course of October. I was told he had been out of work sick and he would give me a call back by Karen one of the sales people we worked with. That was on October 19. I received a call from him on October 20 but was in a classroom and interviews and couldn't take his call. Since then I have called and left 4-5 messages and still no response. I contacted Karen and she said she would have him call me this past Friday, I never got a call. I texted her letting her know and attempted to call her and her answer was that she was on a conference call and she would call me back shortly. I waited about 20 min and didn't receive a call and so I tried again. She told me she still had an hour and a half left in her work day and she would give me a call. In the mean time I could call or email the support team. Obviously I am not trusting them to respond to me in any proper amount of time if I email because, well to date they have failed to call me back (Tim the manager and the support team that I left 2 messages with). Well at 3:51 pm az time, nearing the end of her shift I tried calling, what a shock no answer. I called 26 times and no answer. Now she has blocked my number, Tim will not call me back, and surprise I haven't received any sort of communication from the support team after 2 messages and an email. They have no problem charging my card though still. I attempted to delete my debit card info so they couldn't charge us, because at this point they have failed to uphold their end of the deal, but I can't delete it from the file. There is no way to cancel unless I speak with someone, yet I have to leave a voicemail and never get a live person. I have reported them to the BBB, I am going to have to contact my bank to claim fraudulent charges so they can't charge me any further. This is insane and not how a company should be doing business.

Really disappointed with the responses to potential tutors. I had multiple follow up and two responded. One said she moved but her personal information was not updated. The second responded she was not taking anymore students which was greatly appreciate. The remaining never responded with multiple follow up. This should be a requirement to show some integrity. I should have been more cautious before acting on this recommendation to use your app. Will never recommend anyone to use this app.
I was wrongfully charged $155 from this site never used the services at all. I promised by a supervisor name Arvin and Adrian who stated I would get my money back in September. Here we are now in October and I have not received a refund and Arvin has stopped responding back to me! I would not recommend this company or services!
Stephany is an amazing caregiver as she does what she can do to make everybody feel at home or comfortable. Stephanie goes the extra length to make sure everybody's taken care of and everybody is OK. I would recommend Stephany any day.
Thanks for sharing the love!
Thank you,

BEWARE THEIR SITE DOESN'T WORK
I signed up few hours ago today and paid approx. $100 for 3 month service thinking that I can post an job to get senior care help. The job posted but their system doesn't let me communicate with the applicants. The applicants submitted their profile with contact details but no contact details are visible. I contacted their flimsy chat support only for the incompetent support to tell me sorry the feature doesn't work we know this is a problem with the site and has been for days. We don't know when it will be fixed. Upon asking for refund, they refused saying sorry its a non-refundable purchase. THIS IS FRAUD. Their system doesn't work but they still want to steal my money.

We signed up for a subscription service to Care.com for $38.95 a month. After using the service for roughly 10 days, we canceled the service but continued to be charged. We were given no notice that charges were continuing on a monthly basis and that our cancelation request had failed. We received no emails each month alerting us to the recurring charges. We did not login and use the service for 11 of the 12 months we were charged. When we discovered the charges on 8/18/2023, we immediately went to the company website to contact them. We could not immediately find a phone number, and after much searching, found a phone number on their website. Upon calling this number, we listened to a recording; there was no support techs available. Then we had to resort to a hard-to-find chat option on their website, where the customer service rep was extremely unhelpful.
We were charged $38.95 for 12 months beginning August 2022, for a total of $467.40, where we only used the service for 1 month, leaving us overcharged by $428.45. To add insult to injury, the cost of an annual plan is only $120, nearly 75% cheaper than what we paid with this recurring charge, even though we canceled. Given that the monthly charge is nearly 4x the annual charge, and given that no communications are sent by the company, it's clear they are acting in a VERY fraudulent manner. There's simply no other way to explain how they can have a system that fails to cancel a subscription, and fails to send you monthly invoices, while offering no phone support in any manner. And of course, they have a no refunds policy.
I have tried to make an account and I am told that I cannot make an account, neither could my husband. I contacted the company and got the oh so helpful response of "we can refuse anyone". No reason for THEIR refusal, nothing helpful whatsoever. The reps from the company are not helpful at all.

We were automatically renewed year to year without realizing it. It was a one time use and we ended up paying more than $1000. (Bills totaled $1436.36). When I realized we were still getting charged and the cancel email did not work I called and searched for other ways to cancel. I only got a response from the email AFTER I had my credit card company stop paying them monthly. Then they canceled (FINALLY) and sent me an outstanding balance. I asked if we can they would void my bill (from refunded amount from bank) as I've paid over $1000 in unused services already it was a no. I asked if they would work with me on it and I did not get a response for 3 more emails. Then my response was: " At this time, there is nothing more for us to go around about. I've provided your agreement and our terms of service." I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. CAUTION. They care about money - not people.

It costs about $40 just to find out that no one actually read your job description. Not one of the applicants were looking for a live-in position, which was the title of the job description. Upon further look into the candidates, it appears that about 90% of them are no where near as skilled as they would like to believe I'm sorry, but no teenager out of high school is a "specialist" and because you have younger siblings does not give you "years of experience." There is a no refund policy and that stands even if you request a refund within the first 10 minutes. Oh, and that goes for their tacky ad-on advertisements where if you click, you may find yourself adding another $20 for background checking the already checked applicants. I feel foolish for having taken the risk.

Care.com I have used for a few months with no luck, and today (9/22/2023) I was charged AGAIN for a service that we did not use (as the site can see). Because their service is so inconveniencing, you cannot even call to speak to a live rep. I waited as number 10 in line for 35-45 minutes for a rep who disconnected the chat when I asked for a refund, he declined, and I asked for a supervisor. Went back and waited another 45 minutes for a second rep who told me the same thing of no refund (regardless of not utilizing these services) and abruply ended the chat. Very unprofessional, classless, and I would NEVER recommend them. Go to UrbanSitter.

Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
