My wife purchased a Cardpool Gift Card for me, and when I tried to use it I was denied (the reason was that their risk assessment team denied the order). I can't use my own Cardpool Gift Card. I have a $200 gift card that I cannot use. Customer Service has refused to assist in any way, only responding to my requests for help with generic statements about gift card refunds. They will not even answer the questions or address the issue that I have! They have stolen and refuse to help fix the situation. This is a terrible business, and I hope people stop using their services.
Bought a subway gift card and tried to add it the the subway app and says the card is not valid. Trying to get my money back but haven't heard anything so far (and based on other reviews, don't think I will). Will update my rating/review of these crooks rectify the situation.
We got a notice from cardpool saying "Our risk assessment team has determined that we aren't able to process your order at this time. We've gone ahead and cancelled order..."
We've purchased cards before without much hassle before. Getting a hold of a live person with the company is next to impossible. Anyway this all delayed our purchase and we decided to buy directly from the store and save the hassle dealing with cardpool. We wont be using cardpool.com ever again.
I sold a 210 dollar best buy gift card to them. I read a bunch of horrible reviews and a few good ones. So I decided to trust that most people only review for a bad experience.
I had a great experience. They were running a deal where you could get 5% if you opted for an amazing gift card instead of cash. That is exactly what I wanted anyways so I pulled the trigger. Did it at 7:30pm and by the time I woke up the next morning the amazon gift card was in my inbox.
I was given confirmation through email that my check has been mailed on 7/25 stating that it will take 3-7 business days. Do the math, it's been more than that and yet no check has ever made it to me... I am more displeased with the email responses than anything and their statement of 3-7 business days that they clearly do not honor. I received an email where I was told it can take up to several months due to the mail carrier which really pissed me off simply because this company already told me 3-7 business days. I'm a reasonable person, if someone gives me a specific deadline I expect it to be met. Unfortunately it wasn't but like I said the review can change depending on how they handle me as a customer. I did what I was suppose to and sold 100+$ worth of giftcards (haven't even looked at the physical cards sense but I do have them secured) on top of providing my card information to my personal account... while this company has not provided me with any of their promised services
Sent in one of my gift cards to Cardpool via mail with their free shipping label on a Friday. Received my check by mail the following Friday. Overall easy and simple experience. I recommend selling your gift cards to them.
I sold them ThnkGeek gift card and was supposed to get an amazon card back instantly. Never got one. Attempted to email many times and called the support line. Talked to a shady operator who started that this was the retail Dept. Good thing this was only 25$. I ended up spending it. If they charge me I will report it to the fraud department associated with my credit card.
I purchased an electronic gift certificate for Lowe's Home Improvement. The site promises that electronic gift cards are emailed within 24 hours. It's been 48 hours, I've emailed support, and I haven't heard a thing. So much for that whopping 6% discount! Avoid the hassle and try one of the other gift card sites!
I sold them a gift card and NEVER received a check for it, even though they said a check would be in the mail within 1-3 days. They will not return emails and no one ever answer the phone. There is virtually no customer service for this company. They basically stole my gift card.
Original owner of gift card sold it to Cardpool then used it after I purchased the card from Cardpool. No response. Cardpool sucks. Horrible customer service. Sounds like we need to file a lawsuit to get action based on all the poor reviews I see here
I read the reviews of Cardpool *after* I'd sent them the gift card info (we had a $50 Target card and they offered $44). So I was pretty leery of sending it off to them, but a few days ago I got an email saying a check was on the way, and today we got the $44, no hassles, and very prompt. I would use Cardpool again, for sure.
I purchased a $100 Chili's card only to be embarrassed when the server tells me that the card was declined because the account was closed. Tried to call customer service, left a message multiple times, no call back. Let's just say never again!
I submitted my 3 gift cards and was suppose to receive a $49.29 Amazon Credit. Received 1 email saying Thanks for using Cardpool and I will receive Amazon gift card email within 1 business day and have heard no replies back to any follow up emails or numerous phone calls. I wish i wouldve seen these reviews before i used them. I think i might try the Better Business Bureau to see if that spurs them on to assist.
SCAM SCAM SCAM. They stole my giftcards. Got a phone call saying the received them. Went on their website and logged in and still says they did not. No check nobody answering emails. Total scam. Stay away. I just want my check or my cards back.
I used cardpool five times in the past, but this time my card never arrived. Its said 7-10 business days but I waited an extra week just in case. I emailed them and got no responses (even when they claim to get back to you in 2-3 days). Called their number and it goes straight to a voicemail. I paid $104 and got nothing. No card, no response. Extremely disappointed. No idea what has happened to this business, if I can even call it that... Buyers Beware!
I've tried to call them at least 5 times as well as written emails. I bought a Starbucks card for $90 and was told by the barista that there was no money on that card. Since I have used them for 3 years with no problems I assumed they would make good on the card. I have even recommended them in the past to others. Something is definitely wrong here. I suspect that business is not good for them right now. Buyer beware. These other bad reviews are, most likely, accurate.
BBB has no authority. They are basically another review site. You need to file complaints of this type of fraud with the groups that have teeth, such as the police, FBI for interstate transactions/fraud, Attorney General of the state the business is located.
You should also register with the card company when you get the cards as an added security measure.
This entire process shouldn't take long. The physical mailing of the cards to cardpool should be most timely part of the process. Unfortunately, it was not. Receipt confirmation was sent to me within a reasonable amount of time, though a little on the long side, to tell me that they were going to notify me when it was processed.
I waited 3 weeks from mail-in date to inquire about the lack of timeliness. I received an automated response that told me the holiday-caused high volume and that it would take some time. Ok, I waited.
A week later I decided to call them to make sure my inquiry had even been read by a real person, the customer service rep told me that there was no priority given to my inquiry at all.
Then, after waiting 6 weeks, I received a very rude email from cardpool notifying me that they were sending my cards back to me so that I would no longer have to "exert patience".
Needless to say, I came here to leave this review after this outcome.
I have been trying to contact them every way possible without ANY response. They have $350 of my cards, no check, no confirmation, nothing. Do Not Use. I used them ears ago and fine, no longer stay away! I filed a BBB report this morning
They held onto my cards until I asked for the status and then said that "Our risk assessment team has determined that we aren't able to accept the transaction at this time" which means they were trying to sell the cards and pay me with the proceeds. Bad company, no customer service. Do not do business with them.
Answer: They cheated me out of 75 dollars in gift cards they need to pay up
Answer: DON'T DO IT! You're just rolling the dice with this company, if there is a problem, you ave no recourse.
Answer: Hi Justin I would not use there service they scammed me out of a 400 Home Depot gift card then the block your account ignore emails and leave you with nothing I hope you look to another service it will save you headaches
