I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad. I purchased gift cards from cardpool on 2 deferent occasions. Last year I purchased an Applebee's giftcard for a gift, it arrived within a week. Today I purchased New York & co electronic giftcard, which was emailed to me within 5 minutes from purchase. I had no issues at all using it. Will definitely use this website again!
Wow, after reading these reviews I am so relieved Cardpool canceled my order due to a "failed risk assessment." Initially I was pissed, wondering why they would just cancel my order with no explanation and refuse to give me any additional information about why they canceled. I was just trying to buy some discounted gift cards to include in a raffle basket I'm donating to a local animal shelter. Now I'm relieved (but still going to watch my VISA statement for any shenanigans from these people). Note to self- read reviews before clicking purchase next time!
Sold me a card that didn't work. Wouldn't refund money. I had to go through my credit card and deny the charges just to get my money back. After three weeks customer service responds: Oh, sorry. That's all. Dud company.
My debit card was stolen and someone charged 3 separate charges totaling almost $2,000! I called while the charges were still pending, hoping I could get them to stop before they were actually processed. There is no hold option; only an option to leave your name and phone number and "they'll get back to you" because your business is so very important to them. I called and left 3 messages, I wrote through facebook and 3 separate times I responded to their emails asking if my issue had been resolved. I didn't get one single reply to any of my inquiries and the charges have now gone through. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will never use this company for anything!
I have tried to use 5 different kiosks in the Houston area. Every one has said that accepted the gift card I had and took me through the whole process only to tell me sorry can't take the card at this time. When you call customer service they have no idea why it's not working and tell you to mail it in, absolutely not doing that after reading the reviews and knowing non of their $#*! works I wouldn't dare risk mailing my money to them!
I have used this company now for several months and have been very satisfied with the service. My physical cards come within 6 days of ordering and I verified the amounts. There has never been a problem using them. Saves a lot of money!
I went through the purchase process on CardPool's website of a gift card. The cash was pulled from my account and CardPool waited until the last minute of their own deadline to inform me they didn't actually have that gift card. The money I used to buy the gift card got stuck in limbo for 5 days. Since, I gave them the benefit of the doubt I purchased a different gift card and had the same response, They didn't have that gift card either.
I have used CardPool in the past and had no problems. I'm waiting on the return of over $500 the largest purchase yet for me. CardPool says they buy all the gift cards before they post them on the website, so I don't know what is going on over their, however I caution anyone buying gift cards from them right now.
I have tried two orders with this company, both of which were canceled. When I followed their instructions to seek clarification, they refused to give any information at all. They are apparently just running a scam to collect names, email addresses and credit card information from innocent, unsuspecting members of the public. I fear they will use this information for criminal purposes. DO NOT USE!
I have been purchasing from them for over 1 year - A LOT. I hate to buy anything now without buying gift cards at a discount first. I have NEVER had a problem with them yet - that was their fault. I made a mistake once and they promptly fixed it for me via emailing them. So far nothing has been wrong with any physical or e gift cards/ I buy both. I have never sold a gift card to them. I LOVE doing business with them and I feel confident that if something went wrong in the future - they will fix it.
This company appears to be a scam. I sent them gift cards to sell but they just took the cards and left me high-and-dry. My order #: ******* has been listed "In Review" for over a month. I have tried to contact their customer service multiple times without any response. I have sold cards on CardKangaroo and ClipKard with no problems. I don't want anyone to get ripped off like I have so I'm posting a review to let you know -- this company has zero customer service and you will most likely get ripped off of your money.
I was a little worried about using cardpool but they offered the best value compared to other companies and I figured even if it caused a hassle its not like I was going to ever use the gift card as it was. Cardpool was really fast and I got the money as an amazon credit in less than 24 hours. I may use them again if I find myself in this situation.
Sold 6 Nike gift cards, entered all the info online and they were accepted and sent them in. A week later I get a call to verify address, etc. and ask where I got the cards (directly from Nike store). All perfectly valid cards. They said thank you and a few days later I get an email saying their "risk assessment" team deemed the cards to risky. Wth? They were perfectly fine. No third party, nothing. So why did they tell me to send them in in the first place? And of course they will not tell you why they deem them risky. Very infuriating. Now I have to wait probably a couple more weeks just to get the cards back with the additional risk of getting them lost in the mail. I will NEVER do business with these guys again. Why would you send in cards to these guys not knowing if they'll arbitrarily deem them too "risky" and just send them back to you again wasting all your time shipping them and waiting.
Spread the word. These guys suck.
I spent 2 months calling and emailing. I finally got a response from an overwhelmed person who apologized. I requested that the entire transaction be canceled and they complied. I would not use cardpool again but I was happy to get my cards back as it was a lot of money.
I tried to sell 2 Lululemon gift cards worth about $200 for an Amazon card in return. It said 1-3 days turn around time that I'd receive the amazon card. I've emailed twice. I've tried calling and have only gotten 2 automated responses by email. I may file a police report if I don't get a response soon. I'm so upset.
I recently sold a Tiffany & Co. Gift card for a large amount - weeks and weeks later I still have not received my payment. I emailed and no response! I checked my account and it just says "In Review". I have had no other communication with Cardpool explaining to me what is happening or what is going on. This HAS to be a scam - I advise you to not use this company!
When I tried to use my GC that I purchased it had a $0 balance. I have been trying to get a response to my emails. They said it could take 3 business days to respond but I'm on 3 weeks with no response. Good luck to you if you do business with them. The money I was suppose to save is not worth this hassle.
I wish I could give no stars. Seriously before selling cards to companies look up reviews. I regret not doing my research. I recently sold my Target giftcard to Cardpool for an Amazon card and I received nothing. I have constantly called them only to keep getting an automated message. I have learned my lesson. I will give a gift card away or just keep it.
I bought a Michaels gift card from CardPool and it had zero balance. They won't refund. Now I have to go to bank to get my money back. What a waste of time.
Bought a gift card, and received email says it's delivered to my account. Logged in, nothing in my account, under "orders" nothing. Under "transactions" nothing. I contacted customer support, all I got is redundant emails, keep saying is delivered, I screenshot my Cardpool account to show them there is nothing in my account, then never get replied. I am calling my card company to report it as a fraud transaction. STAY AWAY from this website. All they do is collection your cc info. And your personal info.
I purchased 2 Starbucks paper gift cards for $250 each from Cardpool.com on 2/18/13. I loaded them on my account and now Starbucks has closed that particular card that I transferred the money to, because they said the gift cards were bought with a stolen credit card. There is no phone number to call Cardpool.com only an email address and it took about 2 hours for a response. They did respond though an gave me an immediate refund in full for what I paid for the cards ($430), and they even sent me a $50 Cardpool.com Gift Card for the trouble to use in the future.
I have used Card Pool for a few years now. I used to receive my electronic gift card within minutes now it takes days. My last purchase was Regal Entertainment. I wanted to take my grand daughter and 2 of her friends to see a movie. Three days later I am still waiting for the email. I received the confirmation and the Thank You email within minutes but not the electronic cards as yet It's been 3 days. I will be looking for another company to do business with. Same problem last time I used Card Pool. I purchase Longhorn Steaks and never received the card in time.
Answer: They cheated me out of 75 dollars in gift cards they need to pay up
Answer: DON'T DO IT! You're just rolling the dice with this company, if there is a problem, you ave no recourse.
Answer: Hi Justin I would not use there service they scammed me out of a 400 Home Depot gift card then the block your account ignore emails and leave you with nothing I hope you look to another service it will save you headaches
