I live in Southern California. This is not their credit card. I'm happy with that. I created a Capital One CHECKING & SAVINGS account. It's been going on for over two-3 weeks now and I still don't have access to my money! If I had the strength to write everything that has happened to me since I opened the account, I would be on here forever. I activated a debit card which 2 were sent to me because the 1st one was going to arrive towards the end of the month. I complained and all they could do was expedite it and the soonest would be 5 days. Well it arrives, I activate it, I go to Albertsons market to get a money order and the card could not go through. Capital One said I used the wrong card. After a half hour speaking with CS, the supervisor couldn't even help me. I went home and activated the other card which arrived today. I try to activate it and it won't work either. I have to wait for approximately 5 more days for them to correct the activation. Seriously, what bank does this?! I'm so disappointed. People who work for this bank end doesn't know what's going on either. It's been a total nightmare.
Was waiting for a bill as promised 2 months ago on a recoded line in July, still have not received a bill as of now, and now I have to pay another late fee because someone didn't do their job. It is one way to make money off people, on purpose. ⁸
I currently lost my job and have less than $10K left to pay on my auto loan but Capital One will NOT NEGOTIATE a payoff! With EVERYTHING going on in the world, they would rather reposse my vehicle than to give me a chance to pay it off!
I have been calling and calling and I can only speak to representatives that sound like they are oversees and to me could careless about my issue.
I will NEVER EVER finance another auto through them and will be closing ALL Accounts down through them!
They solicited me for a $50K line of credit card, with 7% cash back if I spent $50K in 6 months. I joined, went to use card for a large purchase, denied it, said I had to build up a spending history. So how do you spend 50K in 6 months? Impossible. Closed account. Account was setup as estatement and autopay/full balance. Never received one statement, assumed paid in full. Notified by creditwatch they filed a past due report on me after 4 months. No statements, no call, nothing. They acknowledge external account for Autopay says too bad I didn't get statements. Offered to send them email and spam logs to prove no statements sent, didn't care. Would not do anything to rectify report. THIS KNOCKED MY CREDIT SCORE DOWN 170 POINTS. IF YOU VALUE YOUR CREDIT SCORE STAY AWAY, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
Fell on hard times, divorced with a new baby, inpatient and could not work. I had other cards and they all worked with me. Capital one wanted 1000 up front with no job and did not help with the rate. My other cards helped with a low monthly payment and they are over 3x what they were ok with. They will give you a card without credit, but they will not help you get back on track if your life goes down. There are better offers
I have been with Capital One for over 2 years. The past 4 months been a living hell with them. My account got restricted after sending info that they requested theres still no resolve of me account. Customer Service doesnt know what they are talking about half the time.
If your looking for a credit card choose a Different company!

My boss wanted me to ask them a silly question (if there are any limits on the amount of virtual cards?). Can you tell me why the only thing he was able to say is "I am sorry I need to speak only to the account owner". I never had this with any other place (they are all ok with verification from the account owner, and that is too for more serious and personal info).
Fine... so now my boss who is extremally busy was on the phone with them for over an hour only to hear that "you need to send us an email."
Fine... So we sent them an email. Now what?

New card holder low credit limit charged an item and paid for it in full on time I was rewarded by a 10 day hold on my account because they can't verify my checking account when they just took money out of my checking account to pay my bill they are very happy to take the money out of my account put a 10 day hold on my account for paying my bill on time and making me go through hoops took me a couple hours out of my day to go to my bank and get a letter from my bank saying that I have a legitimate account and they took money out of don't use them it's not worth it
This bank allowed my ex husband to open an account in my name and somehow screw it and they claim they talked to me but didn't so now I can't ever have an account there so I hate this bank because they DONT have very good security at all my ex has now screwed me and they aren't willing to work with me total bs
I already have two credit cards with capital one, so I was going to open up a checking account. I was tossed around to multiple departments, put on hold, and hung up on a couple times. When I finally got through, I found out they had the wrong information on file for years, including my birthday. This company is a MESS! Confirmed my social and took multiple pictures of my ID. After 4 hours playing the toss around game, still no solution. Customer service is non existent. Bank elsewhere!
Capital One makes it very difficult for a small business to use their card. They require verification for online purchases like airline tickets, and only the main point person for the account can do this verification. So if you are a small business with numerous cards, this one person has to be available to verify any purchase for all of the cards - very inconvenient. And trying to get a knowledgeable customer service rep on the phone to help is a waste of time! Avoid Coleen (agent ID ITR057) at all costs! She can read you quotes from the Company's policy manual - but that is as far as her help goes...
Warning about a capital one credit card. My husband recently passed away and he had a capital one credit card. It was in his name only and he was the only one charging on it. I didn't even know there was one. According to Law only the person with the name on the credit card is responsible as I found to be true with all of the bank institutions. Except for Cap One. They not only made me responsible for the payment but also charged interest on a dead person for a year and a half. I even had to hire an attorney to try and negotiate the price. Maybe this will help others to not be in the same position that I've been in.
Had to call back to get the issue corrected and the person helping me was so much better. If you have issues the first time, call back and speak to someone else, they probably know what they're doing.
I contacted Capital One customer service to dispute a charge on my credit card. The item I purchase was not as expected and the seller was not responding. The lady who answered my phone call was clearly "not American" and probably working in a call center in India or one of those places. The background noise was extremely loud and her accent was so thick, I could barely hear and understand what she was saying, especially when she says anything outside her "script". She said to dispute the charge, I would need to provide evidence and I said I could provide evidence needed right away. She said Capital One is going to send me a letter where I will need fill out questions and provide the evidence. I will receive the letter in 7-11 business days. What kind of backward technology is Capital One working with? Other credit card companies will have the representative send you an email right away and you can provide the evidence directly on the email. American Express will even directly reach out to merchant first before asking you to provide evidence. Why can't Capital One reach out to the merchant first or allow me to provide the evidence in an email / account. This is insane, what happens if I don't receive the letter or it gets lost in the mail? She then proceed to mention that if I don't respond to the letter or respond fast enough, I basically give up my dispute. Capital One clearly want to drag out the dispute process as long as possible so you even forget about the purchase and let it go. This is not right, I will close my Capital One credit card by the end of this year. This customer service is trash and worst I ever encountered.
This is lousy customer service as possible, i made payment few hours late because their website was down, still they charged me late payment fee and didn't agree to waive unjustified fee.
Credit One has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. In addition Capital one will state they send you information regarding your complaint when they never did. They lie regarding fraudulent transactions and will not assist you in the matter. Terrible terrible credit card company!
There phone customer employees dont help you and hang up on you intentionally frequently.
They are the only ones with a horrid policy when trying to dispute anything.

They dont allow self started disputes on your account and make you call them.
Once a dispute is made they dont send you the info to upload evidence and mail you documents for signatures and info.

I had scheduled a trip through EF Tours, another scam company who kept my voluntarily paid large deposit
I had to cancel the trip, within a week of booking it for health and other problems. And the trip was 18 months in the future. Capitol One refuses to remove this bogus charge, requesting proof of cancelation. I canceled by phone. EFTours is so corrupt they are being sued by numerous people. Yet Capitol One refuses to remove this large charge because I can't provide proof of cancelation and EF Tours certainly won't admit that they received a cancelation. It was canceled by phone. I can't snatch words out of the air.
I have been a loyal customer of Capitol One for nearly 12 years, in good standing. They are losing me this week. I have fought this all summer and provided everything they requested. All for nothing.
Shame on these two companies

Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
