I was defrauded by a 3rd party Hotel Booking site. Even with a Hotel Invoice showing $153 less than I was charged, I didn't get credit for the overcharge.
I was given No proof of the extra charge by the booking company or capital one, I had to pay the overcharge or risk damaging my credit.
No matter what proof I sent capital one, it wasn't good enough.
Beware of capital one, they don't have your back.
Over a month of waiting for.a.card I have verified ID for sent funds for made 3 separate requests for replacemnt card! Still no results! Now expect me to reverify my identity! Seriously I dont have the time to run to Canada Post continuously for verification of who I am! I demanded escalations what a waste of time! Arent willing to refund money either! Sickening sickening company! So we shall wait and bury said card and wait for money to come back! Never again!
I don't know what "24/7" means to the inbreed offspring's of whoever runs this dumpster fire of a bank, however when I have an urgent issue, locked out of my account need help ASAP, I don't want to hear "Lol sorry we're closed, your call means nothing to us and we won't return it so kys" from the customer service line that is supposed to be 24 hours 7 days a week.
Genuinely worthless in every way
Do not even think about applying for a credit card if you have not unfrozen all CBR reports. I got declined, remembered that I had them frozen, went to unfreeze them, then ran another application and that was my kiss of death. Despite having a near 800 credit score, I was still declined and they told me they could not resolve it, and told me to wait SIX MONTHS to apply again. So I guess I will be going to Chase Sapphire instead.
First I called got connected to 1 customer service representative that said let me see what I can do and then transferred me to someone else this customer service representative then proceeded to not listen to me when I said I went on the app and elected to pay balance in full on the app. A few days later I get a charge for 150 for interest. So in fact the balance wasn't paid in full so the App is inaccurate you aren't actually paying the account off in full when they add interest on after the fact but you should be a mind reader. Poor customer service and poor app!
Paid my minimum due with my points ($19.85) Got a late fee for $32.00. Twice what my minimum due was. Was told points don't count for monthly payments. If I would have known I would have just used my debit card. I never, ever in 6 years have even called or asked for anything. My credit score is over 800+. The Rep and Manager refused to issue a refund. Even though I paid my minimum due 10 days early. Was never told points don't count for minimum due. They lost a 30k a year customer over $32.00. That I already paid with their own digital currency… Worst CC company I've ever dealt with. Guess it will

I hqbe to have 100 dollars to get back home to Nashville and capital one refuses to give me my money that I need to get back home and now I am possible losing my job because of this. Thanks a lot capital ome don't use them they steel your money and HD your money that you earn from you.
Over the years I have had two Capital one cards, the first was a true Capital one credit card many years ago. They hit me with more account fees and interest charges than any other credit company I had, always trying to get the last penny I had. It took me a while, but I finally got it paid off and closed it. Years later I had a Walmart store card and was very happy with it, then Capital one bought Walmarts credit program, I wasn't happy, but decided to try them again. This time they didn't hold back, I paid the card off and the next day got an interest charge for an account that was empty. I just got off the phone where they told me that charge was for the July amount. Really? You're telling me that you as a company bill your customers a month behind? You got me again Capital one, just know that you will NEVER get me again, any credit program you buy that I am a part of, I promise you I will refinance my house to pay it off that day.
This company doesn't protect customers!
I filed dispute against department store. I purchased shoes, and #1 return policy (30 day) was not listed on the receipt, #2 shoes have designer flaw. I sent to Capital One copy of many on line negative reviews from customers. Customers kept complaining that they could not wear those shoes. I also sent copy of my receipt that 30 day return policy was not listed. Shoes I purchased were in saleable condition, and department store refused to accept return and refund me money or work it out with me to give a store credit.

They requested from me to get a letter from another Merchant who sells shoes to write on company letterhead what this department store did wrong! Good luck for anyone to get this type of letter (unless you have a friend working in a store who will do it for you)! Buying anything using Capital One card is just like using cash! No protection whatsoever!
This is not a card I will be keeping in my wallet, and I moved all money I had at Capital One saving elsewhere.
I will not let them make a penny of me anymore. Protect Merchants and let's see how long you will have money for payroll!

Don't think to be backed up by the bank if for some reason you used their card to pay for services or products and you don't get what you paid for.
I bought some Lifepo4 batteries from Alibaba which came banged up and not performing like advertised and after over a month disputing the transaction with Alibaba and trying to get a refund by sending back the batteries or getting a replacement, I opened a dispute using Capital one who dropped it because I couldn't provide all these:
*Second Opinion.
*Proof of Return/Cancellation.
*Any additional information related to your dispute
Response to the Merchant's Documentation.
Where am I to get a second opinion about batteries that are banged up and not performing like they should with pictures to prove my saying, I even offered to send a video as proof testing the batteries?
How am I to send a proof of Return/Cancelation if Alibaba Website is not cooperating at the first place?
Of all the credit card companies I transact business with, Capital One is the worst! They have terrible customer service who can not help at all when you call - they don't even try. I have had an account with them for over 20 years and I STILL can't get decent help with I call. STAY AWAY!
I hve been waiting for my card for almost 2 wks, no cash on hand, and i finally get one and it dosent match, no branch so hard to get cash. Thanks for ruining my Christmas i will be closing this account as soon as i get my card. Also will warn people about this, before giving personal banking maybe have a branch first instead of a thousand atms.
For months (approx 6 months) my credit report show I owe Capital One $81.00. I don't but it shows I do. I don't even wait for payment dates as I'm prone to pay off my card as soon as it will let me, which is usually 3 days.
Why report a balance that is NOT PAST DUE and then not report that it's been paid? That is illegal to NOT REPORT PAYMENT.
You make a purchase with Capital One. They instantly report that balance to the credit agencies even BEFORE their site clears the purchase so you can pay it off. Yet they DO NOT report when it's paid off. Why? That's illegal.
I just recently paid my 2k dollar credit card off like I do every month on a Friday oct 22. They took the payment out of my bank account on the next day, listed my capital account balance as zero but also had available credit as zero. I call customer service, horrible unhelpful people, tells me they have the money they took out of my account but my account will not be credited till nov1. I blew up so they take your money earn interest off it for 8-10days and then credit your account talk about bull$#*!. Needless to say I canceled the account. Worst credit card ever
Great card to start building your credit. They upped my credit limit from 300 to 1800 after around a year of responsible usage. The Quicksilver card is also amazing, if you can get accepted.
So make sure you read the extremely long and very tiny policy very very carefully. I made my payment on my due date over the phone at 7:45pm and because I don't live in there time zone they charged me a 29.00 dollar late fee. I live in Texas and this is soooo unfair. This is a big enough company that it shouldn't matter what time zone you live in as long as you pay your bill on the due date which I did. That being said I will work on paying this card off and not using or RECOMMENDING Capitol One to anyone else EVER.
Had a 6000 surplus. Closed account. "You will receive your money in 15 business days". Call on day 15. You will receive you're money in 60 days... Don't hold your breath... Pay in cash or not at all

We paid with Capital 1 for 11 nights renting condo in Butterfly Karon using "Capital 1 travel" website. After check in, we learn that guests must walk 250 steps up and down from the street to the actual building. It was due to 50% slope of this hill. In 100F heat and 100% humidity it was a mockery. We left after day 5 and asked front desk about refund, which was rejected. We rent another hotel for next 6 days about 1 mile away. We explained all this details to Capital 1, send them photos, invoices, explanation. Hot water problems, cracks on walls, 1mbps internet, no promised Oceanview were just minor inconveniences. Capital 1 refuse to refund for nights we didnt stay, saying Visa card will not allow this. I spend around 4 hours total with c/s on the phone, made 5 calls to c/s, but they keep repeating that i need to "proof that accommodation was different from what i expected". Disgusting experience with Capital 1 when they not support consumer, they are dont care!
