They told me over the phone, "No return fees since you already paid $120 for shipping." Then they forced me to pay $80 in return fees. Plus, it was an online order, and I had to go to the store to get a refund. A total loss of $200 for absolutely nothing. I had $3,000 worth of garage furniture coming up, so I canceled everything and I'll NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM CANADIAN TIRE AGAIN! Reason for return: poor quality. I have the old version of Maximum furniture; your new version is ridiculously poor quality. It doesn't say anywhere in the return policy that there's an $80 fee... I feel like I've been ripped off! Order #*******612
The Canadian Tire employee puffs out his chest, hands firmly planted on his hips, and smugly declares, "I've satisfied you". My answer "no sir you have serviced my car, but I am as yet Unsatisfied" It started when I showed up for my scheduled appointment and provided my name. The customer service agent consulted his screen and couldn't locate my appointment. He asked for my car brand, and I replied, "It's a Honda Civic 2D." He then inquired if I had been at the counter prior to my appointment and moved the Honda's appointment time. Confused, I explained that I had just arrived and hadn't called to change my appointment. Could it be that another Honda for another person had been mistaken for mine? An hour prior, a woman had arrived and pointed to the Agent's computer screen, declaring, "That's me, I'm here to get my tires changed." The agent who assisted the unknown woman confirmed that we were clearly two distinct individuals and that it was impossible for us to share the same unusual name. She now has a copy of all my personal data on file at Canadian Tire as well as access to my file going forward. The next hour and a half were spent trying to regain access to my account. I provided my ID and vehicle registration, and after some back and forth, no headway to block further unauthorized access to my account information, they would also be unable to honor my initial appointment that was booked for " brakes". Since my issue was with the brakes, they insisted I not take my car due to safety concerns. I was sent home without my car, waiting to see what could be arranged. Later, I received a call. They informed me that the necessary repairs would cost over $1,000. I had to accept verbal price. They had my car keys, so even towing it to another shop was not an option. I felt strong-armed into accepting the repairs, however challenging their statements about car possession, which led to some backpedaling on their part. I asked about the individual charges and why the cost was so high but received very little explanation. They reiterated that it wasn't safe and that all these repairs were required for me to "get" my car back. When I questioned why issues like wiper blade efficiency impeded my ability to drive or allowed me to replace parts myself, they backpedaled again. Only after I accepted the repairs was I sent the quote, which differed from their initial explanations, as even the customer service agent thought that a main brake light was out and would require removal of the bumper, it was actually the central window light that is easily accessed and not required by local QC law. I received a call nine hours later, informing me that my car was ready. I went to the front desk and spoke with the shop director, who identified himself as such. I brought up the earlier incident with the mistaken identity, but he claimed it never happens and that it did not concern him since he was not at the counter when this supposedly occurred. He also stated that there were no notes on file, even though I had seen the agent write down details such as "check tire tread" in my file. All notes were gone from my file, that is when the agent at the counter said the most cringe-worthy comment "I've satisfied you". My answer "no sir you have serviced my car, but I am as yet Unsatisfied", I had to struggle to maintain my composure and not laugh at the situation. For once, a perfectly timed snapback comment. The work had been completed, but it seemed unlikely that it had been test-driven as the Honda was parked in the exact same spot, with the seat unmoved. A loud honking sound from the wheels was immediately apparent. I didn't leave the parking lot and flagged down a mechanic, who, judging by his overalls and name tag, seemed to be the right person. He advised me to let the counter know, as he had heard the racket. Back at the counter, less than five minutes after getting my keys, they agreed to check the car—of course, at an additional charge. They insisted it was impossible for the noise to be from the brakes. FYI: New brakes can sometimes make noise (a goose-like honk). I wished someone had told me that earlier.
Don't take your vehicle to Canadian tire. My son save up enough money to buy his first vehicle. It needed $3000 in repairs which we agreed to get done. The repair was never fixed correctly. We ended up taking the vehicle to a different shop and found out that the oil pump they put it was either damaged when they out it in, or never put in a new one at all. It caused substantial damage to the vehicle from the large amount of oil spewing EVERYWHERE, and we are now stuck with a $4900 repair die to the damage from the oil. After confronting Canadian Tire we were told, too bad, so sad. Have a nice day. We were also informed by the second shop, that they had to redo another vehicle repairs at the same Canadian tire. Beware of the Canadian Tire in Cochrane.
Canadian Tire St-Bruno replaced a winter tire for me after a blowout in a pothole. They blew and torqued it above the recommended values (overpressure light on). I was unable to change my set of wheels myself in the spring as I usually do with hand tools. The manager of the St-Bruno auto service is acting in bad faith, does not want to acknowledge anything or help a customer whose wheels he overtightened. Canadian Tire tools are not adjusted for all cars (torque and air pressure). If you have a flat tire some time later, you cannot change your wheel with the usual hand tools on the side of the road... Great service!... They torqued it so hard that they stripped the anti-theft bolt head but again, in bad faith, he does not want to acknowledge anything.
I just went to exchange a maximum screwdriver and T50 Torx that broke on me, never had an issue bringing back broken tools before but now you need a receipt, some of my tools are well over 20 years old and one of the reasons I bought them was that they had a lifetime warranty, I don't know about you but I don't have my receipts from 20 years ago so all the tools that I bought back them do not have a warranty anymore, they are still clearly marked maximum so they definitely came from Canadian Tire, buy Canadian alright if you want to get ripped off
Today I went to the auto centre and the young lady I an asked her where to wait and she looked like her energy is gone and she responded me without opening her mouth!
I didn't know what she said without looking at me and speaking from her throat not from her mouth. I wondered and asked a guy and that lady heard me when I asked him then suddenly shouting at me that I told you already! I was shocked!
But the other two ladies who were serving me was normal. They do their job. I respected both of them!
The first person was full of short tempered and scary person that the way her actions how she responded me and tune. She has to change her behaviour or she needs behaviour management, a counsellor.
She seems treated me like I am in the wrong place!
I took my Nissan Sentra 2015 to Canadian Tire Lebovich, Scarborough for a brake pad change in June 2024. They ended up making a number of marks on my car. I took the car in at 11am and got the car back at 1600hrs. When i noticed the marks and complained about it they showed me pictures they took of the car and the marks at 1530hrs,which is just 30 mins before i picked the car up. They didn't accept responsibility. They have a number of young and inexperience apprentices who don't know how to handle customers with care
Need brakes. I was told the total estimated cost for everything was about $1000 (rounded out with no cents included). The total bill was a shocking $1899.69. I disputed the amount based on the estimate and was treated like a liar, belittled and told me if I didn't pay I they could remove the new brakes but it would cost me labour. Horrible and costly experience.
On April 26th, I visited the store at 11am with a business inquiry. I was seeking a straightforward answer, either a 'yes' or 'no', and I was open to both responses. I was directed to the garden centre to meet with Mike, the General Manager.
Our conversation took an unexpected turn when Mike made a peculiar comment about a $10,000 fine for doing business with Canadian Tire. The comment seemed nonsensical, so I lightly dismissed it. However, Mike took offense to this and became aggressive and confrontational. He accused me of having a bad attitude and being a poor employee, even though I am not employed by Canadian Tire. Ironically, he was exhibiting the very traits he was accusing me of - a bad attitude and poor employee conduct, especially for a General Manager.
I decided to leave the situation by exiting through the garden centre into the parking lot. Mike continued his tirade, shouting across the parking lot and resorting to name-calling. Despite an apology from Canadian Tire, I find his behaviour unforgivable.
I hope that this does not reflect the overall business practices of Canadian Tire.
The store on mcphillips was in the process of moving products within the store and not many staff were available to assist customers! However I found my bike without too much effort! An older gentleman came to assist us with the bike and showed where accessories were located! I would like to commend this person for going out of his way to help us! We were in and out in no time! Thank you!
I went to do alignment and they did not do it why,, because your car need to fix some thing and they charge me without telling me a fee for the car check which did not ask for, they are so bad,,
i have to keep quiet not even talk about the amount i paid

Guys do not go to do any thing there
Canadian tire denied the warranty to replace a faulty car battery. Just wasted my money to get a higher grade warranty battery
Subject: Unacceptable Service Experience - Failure to Honor Delivery Commitment
Dear Canadian Tire Customer Service,
I am writing to express my extreme displeasure with the recent delivery service provided by Canadian Tire and your chosen carrier. My order, with the commitment to deliver on Feb 27, 28, 29, and March 1, has been a complete failure, leading to a level of frustration that I find utterly unacceptable.
Despite my diligence in waiting at home during the prescribed time slots indicated, the delivery has not taken place on any of the specified days. To exacerbate matters, when I called and spoke with a representative, I was provided with the driver's number, only to be met with voicemail and zero response.
This level of service is not only disappointing but also reflects a severe lack of commitment to your customers. I have invested time and energy into ensuring someone is available to receive the delivery as per the advised schedule, and the result has been nothing short of ridiculous.
Given this experience, I want to inform you that I have every intention of returning the items for a full refund. It is evident that the service I expected has not been provided, and I am inclined to take my business to a competitor who values and respects its customers' time and commitments.
I urge you to investigate and rectify this situation promptly to avoid further damage to Canadian Tire's reputation. Customers deserve transparency, reliability, and respect for their time, which unfortunately, has been sorely lacking in this instance.
Sincerely,
Nikki
Canadian Tire's website has always Sucked. They clearly have non technical people building the site.
Otherday, I had an emergency situation. I changed my daughters winter tire, she drove way, few mins back she came back saying one of the tire loosing pressure. It was Friday night 7:30 pm. All the tire places I knew closed already. Only near by option was Ajax Canadian tire. I call the store and the guy said they are closing at 8, if I can come by quickly they can have a look. It was 5 min way fro my home, so I rush to the place and the guy was super helpful and friendly. I told the guy that I suspected it was the Valve, they checked it and found that the valve was loose. They tightened it up and all good after. When I wanted to pay, they said, don't need to pay. I was surprised and very satisfied with the service at the same time. This is call customer service as I had done some car works for my other car at this place before. The reason I am calling it superb because I had other day one of the most horrific customer service experience at Audi Durham. I bought a car from there for my daughter and they refuse to switch the regular tire to winter tire which I had on rims without charging. So, Canadian Tire at Ajax was a blessing. I really appreciate their Service and definitely will recommend others as well. Thanks again for such a superb service, Canadian Tire.
I bought winter tires in Niagara falls at Canadian tire in November to be ready. I met with a sales representative that gave me advice on tires, I was very worried about the snow after last years disaster in my vehicle, he explained the tires were all on sale so I asked for the top 3, I brought Continental winter contact S1 which were costly but I will say, awesome set of tires and recommended them to anyone, I have only 2 wheel drive Kia Soul ex great so far!
Ordered winter tires online on 2024/01/17. I was aware of my car's tire size but the Canadian Tire online store doesn't provide you with any tire size and asks for your car's make and model instead. As shown in the screenshots, the system confirms this product is fit to your car in several stages during the shopping process. The platform also redirects you to book an appointment for the installation and I made it as well for 2024/01/17 at 12:30 PM, Vancouver, Grandview & Boundary, BC automotive department.
On the appointed day, I drove to the certain Canadian Tire location and after two hours of waiting they told me that the tires were not compatible with your car! Nobody inspected this matter at least avoiding to tire uninstall/reinstall! The technician who called me to inform me about this incompatibility had no clue about the online procedure. Moreover, when I got back home I noticed that they forgot to put the tire lock key back in the car! Regardless of wasting almost a week and two times driving to the Canadian Tire location and back which ruined my weekend, I even can't trust my existing tires anymore due to their unprofessionalism and mismanagement.
I bought a defective battery - it sparks. Brought. There is no refund, there is no guarantee. The starter burned out in the car. They said it was my problem. The battery type is working, not accepted - enjoy.
I bought a bathroom cabinet and realized by putting together it's made of prest board. Found this too late as it fell apart while building. Who would put this material in a bathroom. Now I have garbage to go and out the price I paid.
Not impressed and I did shop weekly in Canadian Tire
I thought that Canadian Tire is a reputable company; however, they sold me a rim and tire that was not compatible with my car but I was not aware that they were not able to tighten knobs and didn't share this important information with me.
Today, I found out from my service advisor that it is not even safe enough to drive with this car one kilometer!
Be aware of these unprofessional service provider from Canadian Tire.
If your safety is important to you then don't trust them.
My experience was with High Tech location in Richmond Hill, Ontario
Answer: Yes, all of them, no one has such a strict return policy.
