I know a lot of others are complaining about this website and I have to agree. It cost 8 dollars to buy an IQ test, and once you do it renews your subscription every week, costing you a bunch of money. You can't unsubscribe on the actual app, instead you have to email customer service. As someone who doesn't have a lot of money, this app was very stressful and annoying.

Not only the IQ results don't show the solution neither explains how the score was calculated, só they are probably random, but we think we are buying just the result of an IQ test and they charge a fortune for à subscription they never mention in the purchase. Dishonest scammers!

I've been fooled.

I thought it was just a one-time IQ test.
I paid about US$8.00 through PayPal.
And before I knew it, I had authorized an automatic payment of 79.8 US dollars.
PayPal only unilaterally notified me that I was not eligible for a refund.
I was cheated out of 79.8 USD.

Good learning curve.
Never pay money to this site.

Charges you $8 for a IQ test but secretly enrolls you in a trial and then charges you $80. Would not recommend. When you tell them they say that state law says they are not required to issue you a refund. Cheap way of making Money.

So you you are saying that I will get charged after the trial period? It charges automatically without me knowing after that?

The only time i get notified that i am being charge is after the trial is over so I can't cancel the subscription.

These people are such scammers. They trick you into purchasing the iQ results and stick a subscription on you without giving you warning you're about to be charged. They charged me $80 and when I told them I was uninterested in their "brain games" they told me that by law they don't have to give me my money back. Talk about terrible business practices. I took the test in bed and thought it would be fun to pay a couple bucks to get my iQ results not get stuck with an $80 subscription I didn't even touch or use. When I told them how unfair that was and demanded I get a refund they completely ignored me! Horrible business acumen. This business is completely immoral! Do not support them! I'm so pissed off as a mother this just upsets me even more. That is valuable money I could spend on my child in this economy! These people could absolutely care less and that's exactly why they won't be in business soon enough! This comment could've gone the other way but all you'll find on this forum are tricked and pissed off consumers that were ripped off $80. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

IT IS A SCAM! IT IS A FRAUD!
How they operate?!

Step 1: The Social Media Ad
It starts innocently enough—an eye-catching ad on Instagram or another social media platform, promising to reveal your IQ score after a simple test.

Step 2: The IQ Test
You decide to give it a try. The test seems straightforward, though it's hard to tell if it's scientifically valid.

Step 3: The Certificate Fee
After completing the test, you're asked to pay a fee to receive your official IQ certificate. It's tempting, and you decide to go for it.

Step 4: The Hidden Subscription
Here's the catch: by paying for the certificate, you are required to accept the Terms and Conditions. Buried within those terms and in that moment when your whole brain is focused on getting the certificate is a clause about a "trial period." After this period expires, you are automatically charged a substantial fee— $79 —on a recurring basis.

WORSE, there is NO ADVANCE NOTICE before the charge hits your account!

The Reality:
While such schemes may operate within the bounds of the law, they often exploit people's attention and emotional vulnerabilities. The lack of clear communication and the use of buried terms to enact recurring charges can make these schemes feel like scams, even if they are technically legal.

The moment I completed a test and saw their subscription bull$#*!, I checked online for reviews and found this page. Here's hoping more people don't fall for this scam.

Paid 14 eur for an IQ test and they charged almost 80 eurs a month later for an automatic subscription, i did not receive any email whatsoever for the automatic subscription. Please ppl avoid taking this IQ test with brainety.

I cancelled the subscription in paypal and i hope take my money in the following months.

I see we are a lot of ppl this happened to, i wish i had seen these awful reviews for Brainety before doing that IQ test. Brainety does not even answer to my emails where im asking for the refund. Btw i see they have a lithuanian company name for the transaction "Uab rebilita"

Update to the above review:
Brainety did the refund of 80 eurs for the unauthorized subscription.
I received emails from brainety confirming this reimbursement and the funds were returned to my paypal account in couple of business days.
I had to contact them by email and IG to get this reimbursement.

If this happens to you make sure not to send the email to *******@paypal.com bc they wont assist and you will receive a phone call from their customer service saying it was your fault this unauthorized payment was done bc "you clicked" in " i accept the terms". Plus they are really rude in the phone, no costumer services skills.
I suggest you write to *******@brainety.com directly, send them a dm in instagram and message in their Facebook page in order to get this sorted out.

I am writing this review to express my immense disappointment with Brainety. In my experience, the website falls woefully short in terms of transparency and fairness with its users.

The heart of the issue lies with Brainety's subscription model. When I used the website, I was under the impression that payment of $14 was for an iq test. Imagine my surprise when I found that $79.80 had been deducted from my bank account without any prior notification. Any website that respects its users should make such crucial financial commitments crystal clear.

In the digital age where customer experiences can make or break a company, Brainety has a lot to improve on. Their current business model, which seems to prioritize profit over user satisfaction, is a disservice to their customers. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend brainety to anyone until they rectify these issues.

My minor child was passing on this site, they didn't ask for proof that she was an adult and if she was even old enough to get a subscription throughout them on her own, she's not even old enough to consent or enter into any agreements. But yet still took $79.80 from my PayPal. This is a huge scam directed towards children and autistic children at that. This site has almost drained my account with out my permission or knowledge without asking for proof of legal age or ID or any other information.

I want to warn everyone about this fraudulent Lithuanian website (owned by the Lithuanian company Rebilita UAB), which blatantly rips people off by shady subscriptions and setting up automatic payments on your PayPal account. I don't understand how it is possible that these practices are indifferent to the owners of PayPal. According to PayPal's investigation, this is not an unauthorized use of the account. Somewhat comically, most of the people being ripped off are people who bought a one-time IQ test from the company for the price of $8.90 - the fact that they were victims of scammers shows that their IQ is pretty low. Unfortunately, I am one of them. (In this form it is necessary to give at least one star in the rating, which is a bit confusing and gives a false impression of at least minimal seriousness.)

On 10th July 2023 I paid for an IQ Test from Brainety which I was happy with.

However, there was zero mention on the website of a 6-month subscription. I did not sign up for this 6-month subscription. There is a "subscription auto renewal" which I was charged 3-days after paying only for the IQ Test. I did not agree to pay for this 6-month subscription because I only used the website to pay for the IQ Test which cost £8.90.

I was sent an order confirmation and a downloadable invoice for the IQ Test which I was happy with, but I was not sent an "order confirmation" for the 6-month subscription that I apparently chose to subscribe to. I found that very fishy.

In fact, I did not even know about this until this morning when I checked my account and saw a pending transaction from Brainety of £79.80.

After reading through reviews on multiple websites. It seems like this company has screwed over quite a lot of people. This is really scummy, and I'm very angry. Like the other person mentioned, this is really unethical and a complete scam. This company is stealing money from people.

I've sent an email to Brainety Support and have requested a full refund. I don't think they'll give me one though. I will be taking legal action if I don't receive a full refund of £79.80.

NOTE: I made a mistake in my first email. I wrote that I paid £14.99 for the IQ Test on the 14th July 2023. But this was from another website. I actually paid £8.90 for Brainety's IQ Test on 10th July 2023.

Minutes after writing this review and sending them an email I received a quick response.

They have agreed to give me a refund within 3-5 working days. I hope that I won't be charged any more from them.

They sent me an e-mail to confirm that my subscription will be cancelled. However, i am unsure if I will be billed again, because the "membership" will terminate on 17th January 2024 at 11:21.

I hope this will be resolved and I will get my £79.80 back.

I paid 14$ for an iq test only and have no idea about the subscription. Then they charged me 127$ for 6 months while I am not intended to use. I emailed them same day, ( last day of 7 days) and asked to cancel and refund. They denied and said it is post 30 minutes, while their policy just said 7 days but not the time. They just ripped off people money. Please never ever use this site or you will lose your money.
I'll contact my bank and dispute the transaction.

They let you take the test and waste about 10 or so or minutes or however long it takes you of your time, then charge you at the end to see your result. Dont be fooled by this scam. This should be frowned upon that websites are even allowed to do this.

They are an absolute scam. You pay for the test and they charge you a week later for a subscription that you can't back out of. It is classic scamming. The service is horrible and you have to email support to cancel. They don't have a phone. This is a sham company.

I would want to cancel my subscription that I didn't agreed to beforehand. Initially paid 8 dollars for only one iq test result, no mentioning of any auto deduction fee for renewal subscription in the terms and conditions. Very disappointed and frustrated with this sudden charges, will proceed to follow up and will take legal action if this issues continues.

I demand a refund for my subscription as this is a violation of my rights, will be waiting for your reply and hope you solve this unauthorised charges issue as soon as possible.

This company uses a fake algorithm to take advantage of people. Their goal is to score you low so you will buy their "brain train" subscription to increase your IQ Score. Frauds, Thieves.

When you purchase an initial IQ test you are given a long legal jargon "terms and conditions" to read which briefly mentions a subscription. No where in the app, the website, or in email does it discuss the subscription. You receive no notification that your subscription is renewing/trial ending, and are immediately charged a 6 month subscription fee.
In order to cancel the subscription users must email customer service, they cannot cancel in app or online themselves. Customer service is lacking and inconsiderate.

Took an IQ test and end up need to pay 10 bucks through PayPal to see result, never mind. A week after, they charged another 100 plus USD again for annual subscription, damn fxxx, realised they already quietly set up auto subscription when the moment you pay 10 dollar to see result. Contacted both PayPal and Brainety, PayPal can only terminate the subscription but won't refund, Brainety keep bull$#*!ing and won't refund too.
