This was an important 1937 American title having won the Pulitzer Prize that year, and the paperback was last printed in 2004. New, even the paperback would have been a little steep for my causal reading. So getting a good used one was what I needed. Well, my book arrived fast. The reason that the price is so cheap to buy books from this company is because they scam the people that sell them the books. They labeled my unopened book as water damaged. What a joke!

I would absolutely avoid this company. I ordered a book rental over one month ago, and it's still sitting in the same location in the state the books ship from. Customer service is entirely unhelpful and did not make any real effort to get me that book or refund me for a product I did not receive.
At this point, I am paying to have this book for a rental period that is 25% over, and I've already had to buy another book last minute at 3x the price of the booksrun option so I had the text for my class.

During an attempted sellback, Booksrun claimed books were counterfeit, disabled my account to deny access to order and took "ownership" of all books, even those which were not claimed as "counterfeit" with no proof that they were returned to the publisher for review.

Rented a textbook. Used book. Sent book back. Almost six months later, I am charged full price for the book. Apparently they eventually decided they did not get it back after all--after two weeks it "went into collections"--without them ever notifying me they had not gotten a book and had to "collect." Five months later they simply charged the credit card they had on file, which they could have done at any time.
But, of course, doing "collections" without even informing me they never got their book and waiting five months to do so also means I've got to waste time digging for a receipt I had five months ago instead of one I had two weeks ago.
This way they get the rental fee, the price of the book and their "collection" fee. And why is it "collection" when it's just Booksrun charging the CC they have on file? Seems like a nice way for them to make a very tidy profit off of a used textbook whose edition is about to go defunct...

Bait and switch scheme. They make you pay to get your books back! I was skeptical because many other reviews discussed the price adjustment. However, I tried to sell several books that were in nearly brand new condition (first year issue). Some valued over $100 and when received they changed the price to $30-40. SELL BEWARE. "Good" reviews seem to be fake.
