My first time to order with Book Outlet. I thought the prices were very competitive and it shipped quickly. I saved $10 on the Bible I ordered compared to other sites.
I have purchased over $350 worth of books recently, and used many of the coupons I've saved from my recent orders.
Upon receiving damaged items, I contacted the Book Outlet Customer Service. I was told that they would give me credits for the books that were damaged. Then, I received a message saying that because I had used multiple coupons, this would "need to be looked into".
No response from customer service since then, as it appears I am being entirely ignored. While they were investigating my use of multiple coupons, they should've investigated their obvious lying about the condition of books on their site. Denying me a return/refund/credit for items that were NOT AS DESCRIBED is ridiculous.
My family visits the Book Outlet retail store at least once a week (has been since it was literally opened), and I make many purchases myself. But my business will be going elsewhere, as will the rest of my family's, and all of my 5 star reviews will be changed because this kind of behaviour is juvenile and I won't purchase from a company that can't own up to its own quality errors and instead tries to turn it around on the customer.
I love Book Outlet! I am a middle school teacher and your website is the best source I've found for affordable, NEW, recently-published books for my classroom library.

BO has been excellent for all of the years that I have been purchasing from them. My only qualm is that they suddenly decided to NOT include an invoice within each puchase.

I was pleased with the condition of the books I received. However, one book did not arrive. Hopefully I will get a notification soon that the final book has shipped. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm very impressed with my purchase as the four books I ordered, though used, appear to be in excellent, unused, and unread condition! They are fantastic and I am truly satisfied with my purchase.
To update my review, I just never received my package. I had to call UPS who verified that a package was dropped off at USPS, then I had to call USPS who verified that they never received anything. I don't know what happened, but after the hassle of figuring it all out I was fortunately refunded.
I purchased a large order on Black Friday when trying to find book deals online. I'd never heard of Book Outlet but I trusted the websites that recommended them for their Black Friday sale (30% off their regularly discounted prices). When I looked up reviews on here, I realized that some of the books might be damaged, which is NOT clearly communicated on their website (I was ordering on my phone). I looked at my order and saw only two books were scratch & dent, according to them the rest would be fine, so I placed the order. I received a shipping confirmation and the money was taken about a week later. A month later, I have nothing. The tracking number they gave me works at both UPS and USPS. It looks like they used UPS to ship to USPS, which I don't understand. Tracking shows a package delivered to USPS from UPS, but nothing from there. USPS tracking says they're still waiting for the package expected on December 7th. I've had to file a missing mail request. When I called BookOutlet, they told me USPS has just been slow to update their tracking information because of the holiday season, but that doesn't explain how the package is just missing when other mail is arriving on time. I have to call back now to try to get a refund, though I'd rather have my books. Glad to see other reviewers on here are having the same problem, not because I wish this on them but because I know this experience is not just a fluke.
They don't care about packaging, even when you pay for shipping and send items in messed up boxes without any thing to keep them safe. From Canada to the USA my Christmas presents were damaged and I tried to get help to no avail. First they said they opened a ticket on the website to help me but no ticket appears. I then emailed them about it but got no response. Then I uploaded my own ticket to only find they marked it low priority! They don't care about the products they mail, they don't care they mess up Christmas for someone, they don't even care to do what they say they will do. I want my money back! I'm too poor to give a terrible company my business who sends mangled products because they don't care. I buy books all over the place and never had this experience ever so there is no excuse AND I found out later this is a constant with this company so it's them, no excuses they can make. They know they are doing it and just don't care. I wish I never stumbled on the site cause they treat customers like garbage, just like the products they dump in large junky boxes without protection. It's ridiculous.
Overall, my first experience with Book Outlet was underwhelming. My package arrived 15 days after placing my order, which I believe was excessive, even considering that the package was shipping from Ontario, CN to Texas, USA. Secondly, the condition of the box and packaging was horrible—the box arrived broken, completely open and unsecured through the bottom of the box. I had to count all my books just to make sure one of them had not fallen out during the transit/delivery process. In addition, the box was poorly packaged, with no packing paper, bubble wrap, or additional stuffing to ensure the pristine condition of the books upon arrival—most spines and corners of the books were damaged upon arrival. Third, ALL 26 copies of the book I ordered were dirty, covered in dust and grime. I had to wipe down every book with a multi-surface cleaner and paper towels to make them acceptable for the purpose I bought them for (to give out as gifts to clients). Lastly, Book Outlet's parent company, Book Depot, was selling the same book at half the price; I just realized it too late. Overall, a disappointing and unsatisfactory experience.

I ordered 20 copies of a book and only received 2. Sent an email to the customer service email and still have not heard back. I was charged for 20 books and need the remaining 18 ASAP.

I got the best deal on books from this website. I paid just under $30 for five books. My shipment took about a week. My books we're in good condition. I love my order and would recommend.
I love book outlet! Great deals and quick shipping. However, the packing of items has left many of my books torn and scuffed up. It would be great to have something in there to buffer the books.
The prices were good and the books were in good condition (not perfect), but it took 2 weeks for them to be delivered. I guess we are just spoiled with faster shipping this day in age.
