The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I made a booking for a hotel through Booking.com. Everything was fine as far as the hotel was concerned; my payment processed, they had availability, etc. But Booking.com started sending me bizarre messages about my card being declined and needing to contact the hotel within 6 hours or my booking would be cancelled. As strange and unprofessional as this was, it was made worse by Booking.com having ZERO customer service functionality. There's no way to contact them, period, to address any issue you may have.
I booked a táxi and I never received confirmation. Only 2hrs before my appointment I saw a message at my phone for the drive and I told him please cancel because I was so afraid to do not have a taxi and I took another one because I have international flight from Paris to Miami with 3 kids … he was so rude and told me I won't cancel and they charged me.
Guys never use booking.com the worse company ever
I booked a room in Albergue y Gelateria il Nonno, Sarria, Spain with Booking.com. The property was locked when I got there despite my advising of my arrival time. The owner couldn't be contacted, booking. Com couldn't contact them either therefore cancelled my booking without cost or penalty. I never received the refund, they have blocked my phone from contacting them, they refuse to answer my emails, it's been 2 weeks. They claim that my problem lies with the owner of the property, he is no better, he claims the problem is booking.coms. Very convenient for both and unfortunately for me it has ruined my faith in humans. I'm an honest trusting person who just expects to pay for what I get. At one point when I actually got to speak to a person she asked me to hold for 3-5 minutes, 33 minutes later she cut me off without coming back to me. What a great system, they are obviously in cahoots with the telephone companies too. We'll done to all the staff. I hope one day to meet you all.
I booked a hotel room through them and it was a disaster. They gave the hotel a non-existent credit card number that made it impossible for me to check in -- something the front desk said they deal with a lot. So I called Booking.com to cancel my reservation and rebook with the hotel directly (for a better price!) and they hung up on me, then promised me a full refund, and then spent the next six days pretending they didn't have enough information to issue my refund.
Throughout those six days, I spent over five hours dealing with customer service agents who hung up on me, accused me of lying, blocked me from contacting them, and gave me incorrect information multiple times. Clearly, this company cares more about the $111 I spent on this reservation than my future business. And the best part is that the hotel (a very popular chain) told me: "just call us directly next time: we're always happy to match Booking.com's price!"
Booking.com have made it impossible to contact them in case of a none booking issue
I suspect that I am being scammed by a third party in the name of Booking.com but there is no way of reporting this or checking that it is or is not a scam
It is impossible to contact any help line not associated with an actual booking
I will refrain from using Booking.com in future as this situation is unacceptable
We paid extra for the "flexible ticket" option. On the same day I tried to change our flight times but they wanted to charge me $400 to change a $100 ticket. Someone explain to me how that is "Flexible".
Absolutely terrible experience booking flight tickets with Booking. I purchased "flexible" ticket which promised me to make changes for free. The customer service agents made me pay the change fees myself and didn't refund the money! I've been using Booking.com for years for booking hotels now I'm extremely disappointed with the company.

I booked a roundtrip flight from Bangkok to Glasgow for the holidays. I knew ahead of time that I was uncertain about the dates so I paid an extra $115 for a "Flex Ticket". I paid around $1200 USD total.
My plans did change and I needed to change the flights. Yet, to change my flights for the exact same route with the same airline I would need to pay an additional $1200. This is to only change the flights to May 1st departing and May 13th returning.
I looked up these May flights on Booking.com. I can purchase a completely new flight for that price on the same airline. So essentially they tried to make me buy a new flight and said it was the airline's "date change charge". The agent I spoke to said there is a totally different system for rebooking compared to new flights and said sorry he can't do anything.
I'm upset about this because I purchased a "Flex ticket" for an additional $115 expecting to be able to change the dates and obviously that is not being provided as an option. This is at least disingenuous if not false advertising.
It hurts to think that I will lose the $1200 and the chance to see my parents this year over something that was misleadingly advertised. I would have waited to buy the ticket if I knew I couldn't change the dates.
Someone used my account for the second time, this time in Oregon! I live in Utah and never been to Oregon! It's almost 15 hours driving!
I received a message about a reservation this morning and when I contact customer service this was their message to me!
Someone is obviously using my account and this people are complicit with it! Scammers!
IT MADE ME CHOOSE AT LEAST ONE STAR I DIDN"T WANT TO CHOOSE ANY! I booked two flights from Jax, Fl to Jackson Hole, WY, back in August, booking confirmed it with me to Jackson, MS and sent me confirmation for hotels and rental cars for Jackson Hole, I bought travel insurance just in case, and they will not refund me, honor price for corrected flights, can not speak to a supervisor, can not reach the XCover for insurance for refund. I WILL NEVER EVER USE THIS SITE AGAIN FOR ANYTHING. I am out almost 1500.00 and flight to see my best friend for the holidays, and can not afford to fly now with the amount of flights now
Please be careful if booking with these people - I would suggest you look at the Venue / Flight / Trip that you want and then phone them direct - you will have more protection. Booking.com customer service is next to useless if something is not right or cancelled. You will struggle to get any sense from the agents and spend hours and hours trying to resolve something. A Flight that I booked was cancelled by the airline - The Airline refunded booking.com but Booking.com are refusing to refund me for the cancelled trip even though it is in their own terms and conditions to refund immediately.
After spending 1 hour on the phone I've been hung up on TWICE by your staff. Extremely unprofessional and the WORST customer service I've ever received. We made a phone call when a HURRICANE was destroying our families home. We were assured that YOU would be reaching out to the hotel that was accommodating us. After 3 weeks without any refund I called the accommodating resort and was told $368.00 was already sent back to the card you folks have on file ending in 6293. And that exact moment I was on the phone with them they were sending the remaining $275. I HAVEB BEEN SCAMMED $643 By THESE PEOPLE!
Impossible to speak to anyone who will listen and resolve concerns. Tried multiple times to call and finally reached a person who completely dismissed my concerns, told me to make an online claim, which is impossible to do when the system does not work.
I traveled Europe with my children and booked all of our hotel and Airlines in advance through booking.com. Thousands and thousands of dollars. I paid extra on everything I purchased including all the Airlines and all the hotels because with covid I didn't know if I would have to make changes.
We did have to make several changes and were told we would be issued a future Flight Credit through United Airlines as we also chose to stay with one Airline.
Both United and booking keep bouncing off the other as to why we cannot use our credits that are worth thousands of dollars.
I can go on and on but my best advice to you is purchase directly from the airline and the hotels and not through booking.com because you will lose your money. I am American and got credits in Swedish money and Canadian money that absolutely do not help me in the US.
They really are not saving you money in the long run. Pay the few extra dollars and do it Direct.
It has been 3 months and I still did not receive any refunds or credits and at this point, I doubt I will
First time I had a problem they set 3 of us up in a king smoking room. I had listed 3 adults for this and nonsmoking. My son is allergic to cigarette smoke. Had to pay $125 when I got to hotel to get this changed. This was after I called both hotel and booking.com about it immediately and was reassured this would be fixed. I went to Priceline for a while after this. Then my husband used them a couple times with no big problems so I tried it again. Big mistake! Listing said free cancellation, in red letters! My husband got scheduled for surgery at time of our trip so I went to cancel and was told I would be charged all but $8 of the price of our 2 night stay to cancel. Tried to change dates and was charged another $80. JUST DON'T! Not worth the misery.
Had a terrible 2 nights in the filfthy hotel ever it's disgusting I do not know how you dare advertise this Booking.com it's was knocking down it is a delapitated hotel The Wembley International Hotel I have come back with a really bad chest infection and been to the Doctors to prove it. The staff are disgusting and rude and can hardly bloody understand you I would like some money refunded as I will not be booking through you again if I do not get anything back. Mrs Julie Luckman
I scheduled a cooking class through bookings.com and the instructor didn't have enough attendees and was supposed to cancel the class.
She did not and I was charged for a class that was supposed to be canceled.
I had to consistently resch out to Booking.com regarding the refund and we went back and forth for months.
Finally they send me an email on refunding $38EUR when I paid $157.00US!
This is not acceptable.
Do not use their service to book events.
Don't use booking.com I booked reservation and canceled the next day they charged my credit card $65.00 when I called them they refused to refund me worst customer service I had experience in my life they going to call or email me back bunch of thieves.
This site is horrible, I bought a package and the hotel they gave me and the flight was horrible. The charged us 1K for one leg from DFW to Tampa with Spirit Airlines and Spirit airlines didn't let us board because we were 55 minutes before scheduled flight departure and not 60 minutes, we didn't have checking luggage as well and the agent was rude in spite of seeing that we are traveling with kids. I had to pay 1K from my pocket on top of this to book another flight. The hotel that was selected Ramada inn is not a place to stay we kids so we moved out after 3 days even we had 6 nights booking, I will never use booking.com again.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
