Bought a chest of drawers as a flat-pack; not so long later the drawers collapsed, and would not fit back in place, I was forced to put matches behind the rail, on one side, for each draw, this worked for while until the draws again collapsed with myself fixing the problem by inserting matches behind the rail on the other side; I can only think that the item was in a damp place, was not properly seasoned, when measured, my place is dry, and still the drawers shrank; the item also came the a central strut for the back snapped, which they replaced.
Recently I checked the side with a ruler to check if the item had buckled or is bowed, and sure enough it has indedd bowed, without amy heavy weight on top pressing down.
Had a horrendous, one staff member that I can only describe as a thug challenged my son to a fight when we complained. We advised management but don't feel they cared. We haven't been in B&M since November and will NEVER step into one of there stores again...
I Visited b&m Brislington today to pick up some bedding that says has 'good availability' on line only to be told to never trust the online stock check and that they don't have any stock. It took me 45 mins to get there. The Deputy Manager (George) was absolutely disgusting and rude to me. He refused to write head offices telephone number down for me because he says he was too busy. He also wouldn't write his name down.
Awaiting response from head office.
No one should deal with a horribly, unhelpful, rude so called manger like that!
B&M had a good idea. A store that has all the little items in one place, at fair prices... for the most part.
The ones in SW England are AWFUL! Let's start with the queues. More often than not, I walk in the store, see the massive queue at the single open till, then simply turn around and leave. These queues are literally the length of a store aisle. 20-25 people waiting at any given time of day. My time is much more valuable than saving 15p on an item. Where is all the staff? Walk around the store and you'll usually see them chatting with each other or playing on their mobile phones.
Brands... they have many brands, such as Blaupunkt and Eveready, but I seriously doubt they are genuine. For example, Blaupunkt is a German company and the products are made in Germany. B&M has many appliances with the Blaupunkt name on them... but they are made in CHINA. Fake.
If you don't mind standing in queue for 30 minutes to save 15p on a bottle of body wash, then by all means, have at it. As for me, I'll drive down to Tesco, be in and out before you even get half way to the till.
