Every time I log into this site I am forced to reset my password. I don't know why I pay the expensive fees of hosting with Bluehost when I gain almost no benefits, and every additional protection, aid, or benefit is an extra fee. I will be looking for better hosting companies.
I contacted BlueHost Tech Support to get help with a slow loading and slow running website. The CSR agent was friendly, quick and helpful. Not only did he help optimize the site for me, but he gave me a link to an article written by BlueHost on how to help my website run at its best speed, including WP plug-in tools I can use do to this myself, in the future.
When I log in - as a paying customer I have to navigate BS pop ups prompting me to do things I don't want. It used to be so simple and easy to use BH. I hate logging in anymore. Long time customer here...
Your customer service is terrible - beyond terrible. I have tried and tried to get help. I either never get a reply or am on hold for up to 40 minutes or get someone who clearly has a language barrier or get disconnected after over an hour with no one reaching back out to me to continue. I have lost hundreds of hours of work.
My site has been four days in a row. Your techs say they have fixed it but obviously they don't know what they are doing. After four days my site is live again and then in the evening goes down again and is still down. Why DO YOU think you got 1 star? Not really rocket science is it?!
We have not had a good experience with Bluehost. It's very difficult to add new users, we are billed far in advance from when our services are due to renew and customer service is difficult to deal with. It often takes several times to resolve simple issues.
Bluehost has reached a point where its customer service and hosting capabilities are no longer usable. The challenges encompass frequent website outages, email issues, and notably prolonged customer service response times. Despite relying on Bluehost for five WordPress sites since 2014, I am actively exploring alternative hosting providers.
More specifics:
1) Bluehost charges credit cards for renewals a couple weeks before the renewal period ends and refuses to cancel, even if you are still within the prior renewal period
2) Following seemingly innocuous instructions to migrate "name servers" to Bluehost resulted in a multi-day email outage.
3) Faced multiple website outages, some lasting beyond 8 hours.
4) Technical support operates through chat, and it took 4-5 hours in these sessions before receiving assistance. The presence of technical expertise in their support team remains uncertain.
Not sure what else to say. Too many other options out their for WordPress & domain hosting.
For all your promises of ease and point-and-click website production, the reality is this is the second time I have attempted to set up a website. I became so frustrated with my inability to accomplish even the simplest setup, I abandoned it after several months. Dammit, Jim, I'm an artist, not an IT guy! Your hosting is supreme, but I'm really frustrated with just getting the damn site up.
I have been struggling with getting satisfactory customer with my email account since renewing over a month ago. The migration process has can't seen to done correctly, my email does not work and I have been charged an additional sum for the process...
I am frustrated
My site for phished and shut down. Getting help for this has been difficult. I'm basically on my own trying to figure this out. Is your hosting site not secure? Why am I not offered assistance in cases like this when the phish attack was not my fault? Or at the very least a support person I can call who can help me go in and help me fix the problem.
It's been difficult to figure out the new Wordpress editor, and right now I can't get the messages sent to me via the "contact form" to arrive in my email. So I'm frustrated. But when I do get things to work, they look pretty good.
I tried to purchase a domain name with the hosting package and it didn't work, contacted customer support via chat, and they solved the issue within 30 minutes. Now, however, I can't change my primary domain to the new 1 i have just purchased without again contacting customer support. Very clunky and unclear how to make these edits without contacting customer service which takes up at least 30 minutes.
The Chat people are horrible. Terrible delays. Every time I have to write it takes 35-55 minutes. Are they taking care of 20 people at a time? AND they are not skilled enough to do what is needed. It's hit or miss.
Web builder is down way too often and when it goes down, it generally takes weeks to get back up and running which is a major inconvenience for my business, as i need to update my website almost daily.
You didn't give us warning of the new interface and no videos or PDFs to help us navigate. Then when the new google rules came out in February 2024, you also did not give us any warning or instruction on how to be compliant. I had to be on the chat for several hours over three different times to make sure the settings were correct. The first person said they had made the changes, but when the second person came to help me a few days later, no changes had been made previously. So the first tech rep lied or was just grossly incompetent.
Appalling service. The chat function does not even work. I have not been assisted even though I tried several times. It then has the audacity to ask me to rate the knowledge of the rep for a service I did not even receive! I am an international client therefore don't want to pay huge costs trying to phone internationally. Bluehost do not even have an international freephone support number. Non-existent customer service. This is not a company I would recommend to anyone.
I would love to give you 5 stars, but the inability to easily create staging environments, edit them, and deploy them is a huge drawback. The functionality shows it's there, and you advertise it, but it does not work. Reached out to support about errors received and they told me it's a known bug. Really unacceptable given how essential staging environments are.
Migrated site from another host January-February and it's been an absolute fiasco. Paid for the migration. The new site went down twice for over 24 hours, vanished, was back and forth for hours with customer service, lost revenue, lost content, lost time. I get different responses from different agents. Someone tells me something is fixed when it's not. Site showed database error for over 24 hours. I call again and the whole process starts over. Even today I had to call again to ask for something to be done again when it was allegedly done over the weekend. The person from the weekend even didn't make the update when they said. My conclusion after all of this is that I made a poor choice and will be looking for another web host.
The message to start a online ecommerce business has not stopped popping up for me. I am not an online business and I can not find a "opt out" button. Also, I receive multiple plug-in updates to an email that I have long since updated with Blue host and still nothing goes to my formal business email, frustrating. Not to mention the fact that I will have to contact customer support again because I cannot log into my website to edit the pages... again.
Easy and simple plate form to work from, the only thing that causes a "hic-up" in the process so to speak is when you try to click and drag a photo in order to move it into position, it either wont move at all or will require you to click after it repeatedly until it decides to move. But, even with that "hic-up" the setup is still super easy and friendly to use for anyone, even myself who's never done anything like this in my life.
My experience purchasing a domain and setting up web hosting was easy. The free email service was cumbersome, but functional. The WordPress integration was tricky for me, but perhaps I just lacked patience. The UI received upgrades since the time I first acquired a domain, so it seems like they are actively working to improve the experience.
Answer: NO - please do not go with Bluehost, it will save you a lot of hassle. They have the worst customer service and take your accounts offline just so you upgrade for more money even though the thresholds were not met. This means they are just running a scam by taking your websites offline and then offering the solution to get them back online by paying more money to them. My websites were down for 6 days and I've lost hundreds of dollars in income, have to pay my developers for all the work they did and NONE of it will be refunded by Bluehost. I migrated everything away from them and they do not even want to refund my sign-up costs. It is a total scam run but incapable and money-grabbing people whereas the CEO of Endurance group Jeff Fox made $10.000.000 in 2019 alone and the CEO of Bluehost Suhaib Zaheer $2.300.000. Be aware you do not get scammed by them, I've warned you. They are an evil company run by people with zero morals. I am going to report their theft to the FTC, BBB, and law enforcement. I will not go down without a fight and they will regret stealing from me and other affiliates as their reputation sinks in the toilet.
