This is my second time ordering from this website and while the deals are great the customer service is lacking behind and do not even get me started on shipping time. The first time i ordered it took me about 3-4 weeks to get my order. The second time i ordered was at the end of July and today is September 5th and i am still waiting on my order. First On the website it said my ship date would be August 20th, abt 3-4 weeks after i placed an order. I thought it was too long but decided to wait anyways. I waited until Aug 24th and send them an e-mail asking where is my order, only then i learned that out of the 2 pairs of shoes i purchased only 1 pair was " ready" to ship and the other was not fulfilled by the manufacturers! I wish they would have told me that from the very begining so i would not be sitting here and waiting on these shoes when they where never even going to ship to me and I STILL HAD TO CALL THEM TO CHECK ON THE STATUS. After that they said ok we will send you the one pair that is still available. This waso n Aug 24th and i am still waiting on my shoes...
(1) Bidz sells cheap items... even its so-called brand-name items are mostly made in China and India... yes, China & India, where low wages / cheap labour and nasty/dirty/filthy/unhealthy working conditions and sweat shops (illegal in the USA) are pervasive (no unions employees)...
(2) When was the last time you saw an item on Bidz "Made in USA"?
(3) There is a nation-wide grass-roots movement that has a BOYCOTT against Bidz in place...
(4) ACCORDING to FORMER and disgruntled employees now posting on Facebook, Twitter, and on Internet complaints forums:
(a) from its founding to 2014, Bidz had low prices... since coming out of bankruptcy, in 2014, it has jacked up RETAIL prices on EVERYTHING, every single item, by at least 100% (compared to claimed retail prices for similar items offered between 2004 to 2010)... so bidders should NOT bid more than 5% of the stated retail price of the item... if you win, great, if no one bids the bidding is closed, and if items do not sell and this situation becomes pervasive then Bidz ends up AGAIN and for the final time in bankruptcy... good riddance...
(b) since its founding, running thru even today, non-brand name items have been 50% of the time FAKE gold / fake precious metal (electroplated tin) and FAKE stones (cheap crystals or simple glass)
I CAN VOUCH FOR THIS (B), because I was bidding off n on between 2005 to 2013 and I received several fake products during this period which I then returned to Bidz after a long-time jeweller friend at a jewelry store inspected my purchased items and found HALF the purchased items as FAKE... I was not surprised at the bankruptcy, I was surprised about coming out of bankruptcy by Bidz, but since then I have never bid at that site.
I ordered some hello kitty shirts at the end of September. Was told the Ship date was October 13th. On October 12th I emailed them to see if they had shipped yet (I was told by a friend who orders from them that they OFTEN ship before the date specified)... I got a snarly reply that the ship date was tomorrow and they'd send me tracking numbers. Well, I thought I'd give it a few days. I emailed them YESTERDAY, October 25th, asking if they had tracking numbers. I also noticed they UP'D the shipping date to October 8th... Now, I emailed them on the 12th, so why the snarly repsonse if they actually shipped on the 8th? No response. I emailed them today, and I get back: " am so very sorry to say that your order ############ could not be fulfilled due to a vendor shortage. This is a very unusual and unfortunate circumstance and we sincerely apologize.
We are so sorry for this inconvenience and have applied a $10.00 credit towards your account for this issue. Thank you for your understanding."... I'm not understanding. I paid more than 10 dollars, and if you can't fufill an order, WHY WASN'T I NOTIFIED? WHERE'S MY REFUND? STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE... RIP OFF!
I have received all of the items i won but the reserves are high.
