One would expect, when gazing upon the display picture, to receive not only a beautiful array of bright, cheery strawberries, but delectable surprise from such a highly praised business that specializes in gourmet treats. Instead, when opening on arrival, eyes feasted on a dark, warm mess of poorly packaged, lazily decorated assortment that was more suited to instilling a sense of depression than a Happy Birthday. Giving it a fair shot regardless of its unsavoury first impression, the chocolate was tasty, before inevitably biting into a strawberry that was a far cry from being the vibrant fresh berries the site tempts you with, but better described as practically fermented. I can't believe I paid $50+ for 12 inedible strawberries, never mind the guilt and shame of daring to tack on a note to the recipient wishing for them to be enjoyed.
My son shipped me berries for my birthday. Supposed to arrive Friday, arrived Monday. Looked like they sat in a 90 degree warehouse the whole weekend. Once I got them cooled, they looked good but tasted hideous. Go with Edible Arrangements instead.
Product, a Mother's Day gift, arrived damaged today. No damage to shipping container but the box of chocolate dipped cherries contained nothing but crushed candies which had to be done prior to being given to FedEx. After giving two customer service reps all the required information both simply disappeared. Chat timed out several times before I finally gave up. Waste of time dealing with them. If I could give them a zero rating I would gladly do so.
They took my money, said it was delivered but my mother got nothing on Mothers day. We spent two days now and can't get through by phone or email. Extremely dissatisfied- there is no zero stars to choose -I say zero
Ordered mother's days berries. Delivered one day late. Dry ice was hot and berries were disgusting! Embarrassed for my mother in law to receive. Called Corporate and wait time was two hours. NEVER WILL I EVER order again. Had a another Horrible experience with 1-800-flowers! They do not take care of customers.
3 days late and they came melted and covered with mold. Several of the flowers were dead or broken and their response was well we can give you your money back. A bad Mothers Day for my wife which means a horrible day for the rest of us. Never again will I trust this company to do something important...
I agree with all comments on shipping charges. Very misleading. I'm sure their customer service is good because they gouge people so bad and overcharge for everything they sell. I will never ever buy their products again. Not as good as some of the reviews suggest.
If you have money to waste then go for it. I don't. Too many other online bakeries and goodie shop to choose from at reasonable prices and shipping costs.
This company is some piece of SH***T they never keep their promises. They sent me an email saying my order is been delivered while the recipient never got it not even a phone call. Fellas don't let them throw dust in you eyes. To me they are pure scam simply put.
I wish I would have read the reviews first! I ordered 2 gifts for delivery on Valentines Day to Katy Texas, and they ended up in Waller. I did get a refund, but the customer service agent was about us cold as can be and offered no alternatives or consideration. In other words, she acted like she gives a lot of refunds. Avoid this company.
Paid a lot of money for a guaranteed holiday delivery. Even though they could not honor their agreement they did not notify me of the situation. They shipped the item out late any way and charged me the extra shipping cost,,, Bad customer service, put on hold for long periods of time. Hung up on several times during hold,, I requested my extra delivery charges be refunded. Waiting to see what happens with that... Never will order from them again... suggest no one else does either..
I've had nothing but great chocolate dipped strawberries from Shari's Berries. Big, sweet, beautifully decorated (for a strawberry...) treats that the ladies (and guys) in my office just love.
Plus, the chocolate dipped cherries were a big hit also.
I order both multiple times a year and haven't had any problems.
I can, however, see how shipping a perishable such as this across the country from California during the summer months might be an issue even when packed in dry ice. Use your common sense.
The customer service reps are very difficult to understand/converse with. The company e-mails "special Mother's Day offers" but those apparently do not show on the rep's screens, who instead try to charge full price, then offer a 10% discount which is peanuts compared to the e-mail offers, and promise they'll apply that only after you give your credit card number. Shipping is beyond exorbitant, and the $4.99 surcharge quoted in their e-mails for delivery by a certain day is actually $9.99 when they get you on the phone. Not to mention their "standard charge" which when combined with the surcharge is more than the gift. Something has gone drastically wrong with this company. I used them for several years with good results, but will never go back again.
I can't believe these people are allowed to advertise on Talk Radio with reputable hosts. The deal for V-Day was $39.99 for a dozen assorted roses and 6 gourmet berries. You go through the whole selection process where it says standard shipping to be delivered on 2/11 and/or 2/12 is free then all of a sudden when you go to checkout and all of a sudden your total is $71.67. What? How? Called customer service (in India apparently as others have said) and after explaining myself 4 times, I was put on hold while she spoke to a supervisor. She comes back and says $14.99 charge is because the roses and berries are packed separate. Really? Did anyone think they'd be wrapped up in the same box? PLUS, she says the extra $9.99 is because the berries are an extra special gift. What?!? The deal was for BOTH! Horrible! And illegal!
The worst company iv'e ever! Dealt with. Late first time thought i'd give um another try..., customer service is awful, they hung up on me three times tried to explain to them no one can understand the automated phone line, hung up again. It' s amazing they stay in business
I don't even have the words for how mad I am. I feel like someone just stole from me!
Just read all of the bad reviews and believe every single word.
They hide the shipping charges...
$15 guaranteed shipping day (?)
$15 guaranteed shipping before 12:30
$ 9.99 standard shipping charge (?)
$29 twelve berries
5/12/2017 - The order allegedly arrived at my wife's work at 4:30. She had already left work by 1:30... she never got her berries.
Customer service was an absolute nightmare. The woman that I "spoke" with could not repeat my order number back to me. After many, many, many tries, I asked to speak to a supervisor or another rep and was completely ignored and eventually disconnected.
Pictures are misleading! If I could send pics of what my wife received I would. NOTHING like the pictures they list on their website. The package was $50, delivery and other charges were $40. Absurd! DONT waste your money.
Terrible online experience. They do not honor what they advertise even with discounts codes from radio station promo, and the website is very hard to use without ending up with a sale whether con firmed or not. Never again.
I immediately called after placing my order and cancelled it, if they cannot even honestly apply their offers then wonder if the food is SAFE?
This almost smells of purposeful scam... wonder how many people let them get away with it.
I received two dozen chocolate covered berries for Mother's Day. They were delicious but the whole experience absolutely broke my heart when I saw how much non-eco-friendly packaging was surrounding the dessert. I understand why each piece of foam, plastic, ice pack, styrofoam, drip catcher material, and foil bag is used, but GOSH. This is unacceptable. I do believe Shari's Berries can be a successful business without using so
Much non-recyclable materials and creating so much trash for 24 pieces of sweets. Do you have plans to improve this situation?
My family loved the "old" Shari's Berries. I'm sure they've been sold, because they suck now. They advertised a couple of choices for 2 dozen berries, but when you try and order them, they are not available. So, I called, and they told me they can only deliver two separate dozen at two delivery fees. That's ridiculous. I will not be ordering again from this company that clearly cares nothing about customer service!
Ordered a Valentine's Day gift for my wife. Nothing was delivered. Contacted them requesting a full refund, which they gave me. However, nothing else. Most places with good customer service would have refunded the money as well as shipping out the order again. Instead I get an email offering me 25% off if I spend another $30. What a joke! Won't order from them or their other companies (proflowers.com, gifts.com, etc) ever again.
Answer: Because they f@ckimg suck, that's why. Once they get your money, piss off. They charged me 4 times for my order and never responded to any of my emails.
