Wanted gutter cleaning and tree stump removal - the first was very prompt and decent lads who did the job at a good price and efficiency- didn't care for the stump removal chap as he had no business card or credentials and got job done elsewhere

Tree Surgeon

Received two replies within 30 minutes of inquiring over local Tree Surgeons. Leo from. Woodfelder Tree Care came and gave me a competitive quote.and returned the following day and felled the tree in my front garden..

Very quick response
January 18, 2020

I asked for quotes for a photographer for my daughter's wedding party. I received two quotes very promptly and was able to select one of them for the task. Since then, we have corresponded and will soon meet up.

This company charges you for credits to respond to leads with no guarantee of being hired. They will automatically charge you to add credits without your authorization because its built into their system without your knowledge. If you don't get hired, they will refund the credits but not the money.

In fact, many of the leads they get for coaches are those who need psychotherapy, something coaches are not qualified to do.
What started out as being charged $129.60 ended up being nearly $300 because the upgrade the credits automatically when you run out of credits

I own a cleaning company and was looking for new opportunities. I ended up wasting my credits contacting employees looking for cleaning work not companies looking for service. Bark credited the money but won't credit my money back to my credit card. It still stays as credit on their website where leads are NOT VERIFIED. Don't waste your money and time on this site.

Easy and efficient
August 6, 2022

I used Bark for the first time and I am quite impressed. I was looking to get some quotes from construction companies as I am extending my property (rear extension). On the day I made the request, two companies already expressed interest, by the next day the companies were 4.3 of of 4 sent a person for survey the property within 5 working days and quotes were provided the following week.

Exactly what I needed

Put out my request, received several responses within the hour. Checked out the best fit and the professional, personable photographer did the job a few days later at a reasonable cost. Excellent photos received day after the job. Job done!

Ripoff
August 25, 2018

What was I thinking? I signed up, bought $180 worth of credits (at a 'discount'), and replied to several leads that needed exactly what I offer. One answered that they already found someone. The rest... crickets. Each lead costs anywhere from $18 to $30 to contact. That's absurd for leads that never respond or have already closed the opportunity. What a ripoff.

In my industry people do not contact the likes of bark and hope for a contact it's just not how it works. I'd say it's a way to get you to pay for credits up front and then you never hear anything from the " leads". It might be OK for certain services but not the professions.

Garage Roof Replacement

I was looking for a reliable tradesman to replace my garage roof. Bark were quick to respond with details of tradesmen in my area. I was contacted by all the tradesmen and provided with quotes. I have arranged for one firm to carry out the work. The only downside was that I was inundated with emails from Bark requesting a review from me before I had received all the quotes.

WASTE OF TIME & MONEY

Bought a lead & travelled 25 miles to quote - got the job - but within 24hrs the customer called to tell me that her neighbour & friend were going to do the job - Nice, so lets add the time & fuel costs into it & see where we are - i would imagine its cost me £50+ - The customers should be made to sign a deceleration to state they are committed

I had no problems in arranging the repair/replacement of fence panels damaged after a storm. I had several respondents and arranged the work within 24 hours and the work was complted the next day.
The work was done by Unique Gardening and Landscape at a fair price. With the agreed specifications of concrete posts and footers to the panels.the garden was left clean and tidy with all debris removed.

I'd stay away
June 30, 2020

I'm a private tutor and was solicited by Bark. They started by sending me many leads that seem to be good fits for the type of tutoring I did. I finally gave in and bought their token package. They also promise that if you do not receive one client as a result, they will refund your purchase. Interestingly, after I purchased the tokens, the leads pretty much dried up. I contacted them and they replied that if I really wanted to secure clients, I now needed to subscribe to their ELITE PROGRAM at an additional cost of $30 a month PLUS the token cost. I politefully declined and requested a refund. I got no response at all. My advice is to stay away!

I'm thankful I only shelled out $40 for referrals, but it only gave me 5 and they said it was supposed to be enough credits for 10 referrals, that was the first red flag; then I contacted all of the referrals that were given, and either the referral numbers were disconnected or just the wrong number, and the email addresses were fake. They are frauds.

I spent $150 on credits; after contacting 16 people, I got only 1 booking.
And that 1 booking I got was from someone who saw my profile on Bark and called me directly to my phone.

The last lead I contacted; I offered her a steal of a deal on purpose to test Bark.com.
$200 offer for something that was worth $600; she sounded excited on the phone but like all others Bark never returned my call.
But when I was talking with her on the phone; I noticed her voice and story sounded familiar to another customer I called a week earlier.
So I concluded it was the same person.

We had a specific set of current and future requirements and provided a level of detail to the businesses Bark put us in contact with. At least 5 high level responses were received within an hour and I have to say all were professional and of high quality in all aspects of their approach.
I was honestly dealt with and the process is still ongoing. Of the five, 2 were unable and expressed this within a day, one was outside our budget but very reasonable and one is still in progress with one waiting for further contact.

Chest of drawers
May 5, 2021

The gentleman that come to do my chest of drawers was really nice didn't take him long to do my drawers I thought he was going to take longer. Was very professional brought his own tools and even left all the cardboard in one corner for me. Was on time. I would book him again for sure was worth the money.

Bark runs a scam
January 31, 2021

Don't spend money on credits. Bark.com scammed us and sold us a different credit pack than we were originally offered and when we noticed the discrepancy and followed up, were unable to get a refund. Have it all on paper. Downright criminal. Terrible customer service. We spent months emailing and phoning trying to talk with management and got nowhere. We are still actively pursuing a full refund and legal follow up.
