I own a lot of Audible books, but I may not buy any more. The volume of ads for books I DO NOT own is overwhelming. I like to listen to a book to fall asleep, but now when my book finishes Audible starts a book I don't own and one not of my own choosing. It wakes me up and then I really have to fully wake up to stop it. Trying to do it in the dark on my phone and not wake my partner is hard. I will have to change to listening to blogs elsewhere to fall asleep. And I want to be able to search just my own library for books I own without seeing so many books that I don't own taking up screen space. I want to be able to choose up front if I am going to search for a book from my library or search for a new book. And the default should be books in my library.
Tried over & over to cancel my membership, no success, had to empty bank acc to stop them withdrawing money. Thieving bstrds
Deceptive company and rude customer service! I had cancelled my membership over 6 months ago and was still being charged 14.95 per month! Called to report this issue and request a refund and the customer service was very rude. She actually told me they have NO finance or billing dept. and NO manager(s)! I said well obviously someone in the company is taking the fee out of my bank account! She kept stating I just needed to contact my bank. This is the same as stealing in my opinion. I finally reached a more helpful person via online chat and they are supposed to be refunding me.
I have been an auditable member since 2018. Today, I have been trying to contact the customer service for the return of certain titles which I was not happy about. The lady answering the phone ask all the questions to pull up the account, then says I need your approval and by the time I approve the request, the phone disconnect but they never call back, I call again, and same thing happens, third time another lady answer the phone says, I am the senior customer care officer, how can I help you? Again same story.
Feeling frustrated and disappointed how a company claim to be with such a great name treating its customers so poorly.
Just waisted hours of my time. My account just lists my credit card and credits available NOT the amount I will be charged. I was offered link withe deal that didn;t show up on my account. Hour later maybe if I believe them it is done but stil doesn't show on accountl Waited forever to let supervisor know of this problem and they just hung up on me.
I was a loyal user of audible until my account got put on hold. I can't log in. I've called there codeine support line numerous times. After multiple transfers between departments t and thinking maybe - just maybe I can get back on. They say - it looms like you about odd on hold. I get put on hold. And every time after about 45 minutes on the phone with them they just drop my call. He is it so hard to just tell me what's wrong or take my account of hold?
I had over 500 books in my library on audible and they claim you always have access to your purchased books - well that's an extreme load of BS!
Don't bother with audible they are not at all customer service oriented.
Yes I'm PO'd and angry but this is all I have left to do since they won't help.
Honestly, I am so shocked at how terrible this service is. Every single book I want to purchase, says its unavailable for my region. I live in Canada? How are CANADIAN authors not available? And now it's locked me out of my account for some reason and my library isn't there anymore. The helpline staff are actually trying to help, but it seems like the site and app are so terrible that they're having a hard go of it. 0/10
If you try to delete books off your device, it does not happen. You have to delete the app, then re-install to clear your device of finished books. Customer service has an "oh, well" attitude. I have the Premium Plus and have been notified on occasion that I could not read a book I purchased because it was no longer available under my type of account! It's more frustration than good listening. Ridiculous!
I changed phones. The customer service agent was unprofessional and didn't help me get to my account. I told them to suspend my account and they just charged me again. I would have given a zero stars or a negative 5 stars if this were an option. I will be turning it in as a fraudulent charge to my bank and I am looking at a civil action as they did this last month as well and are denying me access to books that I have bought.
I discovered that this company was charging my Amazon store card $16.18 for 22 months without my permission. Unfortunately, I did not catch it sooner I did not authorize this charge and I never used the service. I called to dispute the charges and they tried to sell me on keeping it by offering me 3 months free. I declined and said I wanted the charges to stop and a full refund. They only offered to refund for 12 of the 22 months which is $194 of the $355 they charged. It's better than nothing but I'm still out $160. I'm very angry about this and wanted to warn others about the fraudulent activities of this company.
I have not been impressed with the multiple attempts to funnel/force me to join Audible book club but today is the limit. In order to listen to a previously purchased title l, "The Warrior Diet", they are now requiring me to join. Anyone but Audible.
Unfortunately i got signed up via Amazon. That become a subscription i did not need or did not use. It was not easy to Get rid of this but i succeeded. So now what should i use the credits for? I Get emails, you have 12 credits, i long in and there is 0 credits just like before. Hmm contact custumer service, click away and you Can chat with a chatbot.
I see the money as lost, i will never Get any value from it and in my opinion its a scam.
I was paying my premium monthly for several years and the monthly fee purchases credits. I had so many unused credits that I put my account on hold, and then temp cancelled. They deleted/cancelled all my credits. Basically theft as I paid for those! Do not use audible. They are crooks and thief's.
So somehow audible can just pull debit cards from the clouds on accounts u don't have. I wouldn't recommend signing up for them u will never get to cancel I don't even have a account and my brand new debit card was charged so not sure how they got it and ŵhen I called after telling the representative I didn't have a account she keep asking me for info they were basically giving me the run around, so I had to go through the process of disputing the charge which is a hassle, because audible refused to return my money.
I subscribed to Audible for a one-month free trial. I am trying to cancel. My subscription is through my Amazon account. On the Audible home page, though, I am listed a having an Apple account. I am, thus, required to cancel through Apple. As a result I am unable to cancel! I have talked with Audibles call center agents. I have chatted with their agents. They are completely unresponsive.
Decided to try this due to a "3-month free trial offered", and then received notification that I was going to be billed in under 1 month.
Very deceptive!
Called and asked what was going on and was told they NEVER offer a 3-month trial, only 1-month.
Hmm, Then why is the ad still in place?
Rep still insisted there was no such thing as a 3-month trial.
Very sketchy business practices. Apparently you can't trust this company, so i have no more interest in becoming a customer. Make sure you get e-mailed confirmation of your cancellation!
I ordered a book during my "free trial". After that, I discontinued my trial BEFORE the trial period ended. Since then 4-5 months later I keep getting charged every month on the 5th. I reached out to customer service and all i get is the run around. So, I suppose they don't care about their reputation as I would never refer anyone to take the "free trial". At this point I plan to make a complaint with the better business bureau if this is not resolved asap.
App. When Audible loses the rights to a book it just quietly goes away. No notification. I realized when re-reading some old books that I have already purchased them in 2013. They quietly went away and I ended up re-purchasing the same books 10 years later. So they sell you the same book multiple times. Great business model but rather dishonest. I contacted customer service but the issue was not resolved.
For a service so well-established, this certainly feels like a scam! I enrolled for 3 months, one of which was a free trial. I tried to cancel before receiving a charge for month 2, but it was impossible to do via mobile, so I put it off until it was too late. When month 3 came around, I was charged again, but didn't even receive a new credit! Yes, Audible charged me for a "good" that it did not deliver. I worked harder to cancel my subscription this time. Now I enjoy free audiobooks through the Libby app. All you need is a library card, and it's scam-free!
Audible.com just changed their audible books refund policy. Consumers will no longer be able to get refunds on cash purchases of audible books. Refunds for audible books will only be allowed for books purchased using their internal credit system.
This is an extremely poor customer service policy. All refunds should be allowed for same product.
I am severely impacted by this policy change because 80% of my entertainment is reading or listening to books. I don't watch TV, go to movies, or stream. Often times it is more cost effective for me to buy audible books with cash than credits. The policy change by Audible.com by Amazon is making it impossible to determine the best price for the product. They are intentionally backing consumers into a corner by locking us in to one refund option.
Answer: I've had the same problem, they charge me from the US AND Australia so I can't even cancel cos no access to these sites. If you manage to contact them, they should refund you
Answer: Not not a clue but they refunded me all the money back they took out my back so alls good
