Left this provider for a locked rate that never goes up after 20 years. And they want a partial payment after paying final bill in full.

I don't like to leave bad reviews but this company is always a nightmare to deal with. We had a great deal on "high speed" internet but it was either going out or too slow to even stream movies. They finally came out to fix it but nothing changed. So we switched back to our previous company and gladly paid $30 more for good high speed internet. But even as we were changing companies they made it difficult. The other company had a promotion of paying your early termination fee but at&t refused to send an itemized bill including those words so they wouldn't pay it. It's like they did it on purpose. And now my dad who has at&t as his cell phone company gave me his old iPhone because he got the newest version and it has been a nightmare again to get it unlocked so I can use it with my carrier. They supposedly did it in the store and said it would be unlocked in 24-48 hours but it didn't happen. It's outrageous that it would be so difficult and slow to unlock a phone that is already paid off. My carrier automatically unlocks your phone after 3 months. It's also horrendous to try to speak to a competent person when you call customer service. You explain the issue to one person and then they transfer you to another. And I'm not exaggerating when I say I've been transferred to 4 different people. And have also had to call them 8 to 10 different times to finally speak to someone who actually knew what they were doing. That was when I tried to return an iPad and was promised I wouldn't get a cancellation fee if it was returned within 30 days. And that was because the guy who brought us the iPad lied and said the monthly payment would be significantly less than what we were actually charged. It's a complete aggravation and not worth all this effort and time spent to fix issues
The thing I hate most about ATT is calling them. I absolutely dread talking on the phone to ATT. Why oh why do they always try to freaking sell me things when I call about my account? Today I called to sign up for Fiber, which was available in my area according to the website, but the rep said in fact it was not. So a call wasted. But instead of letting me hang up, he tried to get me to upgrade my cellphone plan to a plan that would be over $20 more per month. When I said No, he tried to sell me on a new line - a second line, perhaps for my "love life" or for business, at a cost of $70 more per month. If I needed a new line or an upgraded phone package, I would have freaking called about that. ATT SHOULD FORMALLY DISCONTINUE HAVING REPS TRY TO SELL THINGS TO CUSTOMERS WHI CALL FOR ASSISTANCE. When I call my mortgage company with a question, they don't try to get me to refinance. Honda doesn't try to get me to buy a new car. NO OTHER COMPANY DOES THIS in the same way ATT does. Other companies respect their customers and appreciate the customer's business, whereas ATT just keeps pushing and pushing and pushing. I wish I could permanently discontinue service with ATT, but they're the only provider who offers internet here and I don't get excited by the thought of trying to cancel my ATT wireless - they make cancelling service almost impossible - uncomfortable, tense, and high pressure. I hate ATT and seriously wish they would respect their customers rather than treating them like nothing but potential leads for more business.
First of all let me begin saying I've had AT&T over 20 years I have 11 lines and I also have Internet services on November 20. I went to use my phone and was disconnected. I call AT&T exclamation I got from three people was that my bill was $570.66 and because I paid 570 they turned it off for $.66. Unbelievable, I spoke with multiple people management and credit and collections and I was told that because I have a bill due November 3 and it was already disconnected because I did not pay the $.66 they would not be able to turn it back on until I pay the $.66 my 20 years of service With 11 lines. I have multiple services with them. I spoke with someone in cancellation department who transfer me accidentally to the business office? I spoke with someone named Sylvia not only was she amazed and apologetic for their behavior. She rectify the situation. It took me two hours for someone to look directly at the bill, and figure out what happened and to turn my services back on because it was turned off For no reason and they said that I had a balance which was not due to November 23 mind you this happened on November 20 and like I said I spoke to multiple managers who told me there was nothing they can do to turn it on unless I paid the balance that I have which is not due to November 23. This has put a bad bad taste in my mouth. Prior to this two weeks prior to this I just got another Internet service with them. Had I have they done this before I would not. I would've went to Xfinity so after 20 years plus service with AT&T I'm very dissatisfied. Were there any compensation not at all? Nothing offered no apology, or anything had not been for Sylvia in the business office I would've went directly to Verizon took my service over there and ended my relationship with AT&T.
I am on the phone with a guy i have ask him 5 or 10 time for a supervisor and now he will not talk to me after he said ( WHAT THE $#*!) and i did call him out on it and now he is not saying anything
AT&T keeps going up 214.00 a month for a business line, this is outrageous during inflation. Switching to a wireless phone and disconnecting.
Lost my rewards because passed 120 days counting that I had a lot of problems on the beginning of my account. Never again
700$ phone bill, n I hardly use it. Soo many fees, app is unable to be used for anything. Costumer service only looking to add to your bill
I'll keep this as brief as I can while trying to get my point across. Internet access, at list in my county, is spotty at best. My wife and I work from home and tried to make it work for a long time. We kept upgrading the internet to the highest speed and it didn't matter, the service was still intermittent.
The last time we tried to upgrade, the customer service rep added a phone service to the bill without telling me. When the technician arrived, they indicated AT&T needed to fix some cables outside of my complex at the nearest junction box and they would be called out that same day. The technician explained I'd be receiving a call the same day to advise the junction box issue resolved. No call and no update. He also recommended I call AT&T about the phone service added to the account I didn't ask for.
I called AT&T and got transferred 6x. The last person I spoke with had an extremely heavy accent and I had to ask her to repeat herself with everything she said, much as I hate to be that person. She ultimately told me I'm all set with internet service since the technician came out and there was no issue anywhere else. She also confirmed I don't have phone service on my bill.
A couple of weeks later, with intermittent service still, my wife and I decided to cancel and switch to Comcast (which is fantastic and I would highly recommend). AT&T just stuck us with a bill for the phone that they confirmed I didn't have on my policy and I never ordered.
All in all, inferior product is the main reason we left. But, wow, talk about incompetent service. Every time you call, also expect to be on the line for at least 20 minutes. Take it from me, it's not worth the aggravation.
It's always down for hours at the time. No apologies from company, no money off bill, just no service and the customers are over it in this area

I switched my business phones from TMobile to AT&T. The biggest business mistake I've ever made. The salesman lied about the price and everything is in writing via email. Trying to get any answers from their customer service is impossible. They will either hang up on you, send you to a different department, give you a number to call that is out of service, or say the problem is with the other department and there is nothing that they can do for you. I was promised 5 lines for the price of 4 because the 5th one was free due to a special that they had running. I was also promised roughly 800 to 1000 for every phone that I turned in and they would upgrade me. I shipped the phones to the label that they sent me and when I called to find the status they claim that they never got it. I give them the tracking number and for some reason, they find out that they gave me the wrong label and it was sent to the wrong ATT warehouse. They told me that they would fix everything and just wait for 4 billing cycles for it to take effect. Well, it still has not happened...they are saying that the trade-in department didn't leave any notes on my account and the trade-in department says they did everything correctly. The customer service is a complete joke...when I told one of the agents that I have called about 20 times that week only to be put on hold for 30 minutes and then disconnected, he literally laughed in my face and said well if I can't resolve it what are you going to do...keep calling back. It is hard to believe that a company, the size of AT&T is run like a company that can't even compete with the scammers from India. At this point, I am debating whether to just cut my losses or seek legal action. I run a business and I never dealt with a company that operated with such incompetence. Never again!
1- On 5th of may I signed up for an At&t internet account. We paid 99 dollars plus the first month's bill.
2- On the 9th the tech rep came and installed the internet.
3-That point we realized that it was not the connection speed promised by the sales reps at the store. Much much slower. Other companies provide much better service. (promised 300mps, received 14mps. Now with Xfinity we get 300mps. So it is AT&T's bad.)
4-So we cancelled our internet on 22nd, WITHIN THE 14 DAYS CANCELLATION PERIOD.
5- Since we were in the 14 day period after the installation, we were fully refunded, both the bill and 99 dollars deposit.
6- In 20 days, I receive an e-mail saying we have to pay 99 dollars. After the cancellation and we stopped using the service, returned the equipment and they paid the 99 dollars back because they failed to deliver what they promised and we cancelled our service in 14 DAY PERIOD.
7 - Now they are asking 99 dollars from us. I cannot reach to call center because it says "for us to help you first you pay your bill".
8- People on the "chat" section on the website cannot do anything. They say this is a valid charge because they set this up on your house. When I say, it was not what I was promised and cancelled it in the frikking 14 day period, they say call the call center. But I cannot reach to call center.
It is a joke. I hate myself for choosing AT&T in the first place. Stay away from these people!
My name is Luz Mendoza I was with AT&T for 3 years it so happends I had to move to a new house. They would not allow me to transfer the service to my new house. I had to cancel the service and set up a new apt. I set up the apt for 8-13-20 window from 8am-6pm. Tech did not ring my door bell waited for him all day. I called AT&T they stated tech left a note on their system that he could not do the job because my vehicle was on his way. He could of nock or ring the door bell and asked me to move my vehicle. I have to work from home 8-14-20 this is the reason I set up my apt. I spoke to 5 diffrent managers for the inconvenience they said they could not send a tech today 8-14-20 to set up the internet. Well now because of AT&T not setting up the internet I got fire I'm jobless. They now that we are in a Pandemic they do not care and they have poor customer service. As well their agents working from home they have poor customer service they should listen to their recordings they have poor attitude they should be thankfull they have a job other people they wished they had a job in this pandemic. I give them Zero Stars.

At one time respect and integrity meant something in America! In the case of ATT these values are long gone! The customer means nothing to ATT Whatsoever! They could care less if you are a customer or not. They care about what is best for them and if you get run over in the process, so be it! I would give the company negative stars if this was an option! If one does not have to go with these people then do not they could care less about you! Use any other provider if you possibly can! This includes Via-Sat as well!
We had set up Via-sat and the person of whom we spoke to flat out lied to us. They lied on direct questions as well as, providing false information about pricing. Back to ATT we live in a rural area and they seem to know that we have no other option so they take advantage of you! Essentially, they kick you when your down. We have had 3 different installations set up and have not had anyone to actually even come out! Instead of moving you back an hour or to they put you back in line a week or two down the road when having 2 weeks or more to make the original appointment. When my wife and I tried to speak to a manager they were conveniently all busy? The call center people wherever they are don't even speak English to where they are understandable. My last call I talked to 4 people and could not understand any of them without having to ask what they said numerous times. ATT is an example of what shouldn't ever take place when conducting business with anyone. If ATT was a person you would defiantly not want them as a friend or even an acquaintance because they have no morals or integrity and one couldn't expect anything good to happen as a friend.
Call Brian Noble of AT&T call center in Huntington West Virginia has people removed while doing their jobs of cleaning the building and it's pretty bogus that it's awful funny me and my son knew what we were doing but I have from when I get told the building doesn't even get cleaned very good now Patton building services plays there a little game security in the call center plays there a little games Don Lord and also Mike they play their little games but you know something when it all comes down to it when the lawyer gets in there and starts looking into stuff and look at this right up AT&T's gonna have to answer to it so is Patton so is universal Allied security gonna have to answer to it this little game playing when we're doing our job Brandi Hirschmann sets here and has us to bring stuff in but yet when we bring it in I get wrote up now I've talked to several AT&T agents and they turn around and he even told me that building is not even getting done I guess it is true about AT&T plan there a little game having people removed well that's why they're losing customers

Customer service is horrible, their service in general is horrible, and they don't offer anything I can't get at any other competitors store. I wouldn't recommend service or work with this company, they are discriminatory and bias. All they do is take advantage of you and try to sell you stuff that you don't need so they can raise their commission.
