I'm a Verizon customer. I received a notice (interestingly, 2 days after the changes went into effect) that Asurion was increasing their rates for multiple devices, four or more, from $50 a month to $60 a month. That's a 20% increase. And Asurion has such high deductibles, there's no way they are losing any money. A 10% increase would have been more reasonable and fair. We personally have never made a claim. I'm strongly considering canceling my device insurance by Asurion.
Assurion is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Customer service is non existent, will hang up on you, not answer questions and blind transfers that end up disconnected. I sent two phones back under warranty. I had proof of returns. Took over 2 months for assurion to give me credit, initially they accused me of sending empty boxes until I showed them the weight reciept from ups. Miraculously they found the phones. Horrible and unprofessional
Asurion customer service was easy to work with, which was appreciated. They need a better system of knowing when an item needs to be mailed to them for repair when the customer knows it cannot be repaired because the customer talked to the Epson tech and the tech said the error code displayed meant the printer was beyond repair. I had to mail the printer to Asurion at the cost of $100+(set by Asurion and they did make the process easy) to be told it could not be repaired. I realize that Asurion reps do not know me and I could have been lying. There has to be a better way.
They promptly paid the fair market value of the printer for $310. Of course I only realized $210, but that was still better than taking it to the dump's electronics disposal area.
The screen cracked and splintered on my Samsung S23 Ultra and only the top third of my screen was visible. I went on line and found it quite easy to find out how to submit a claim and found a location nearby. I filled everything out on line with easy to follow instructions. I printed out my claim number and went directly to the store. The tech on duty was surprised that I was there within 15 minutes of completing the on-line registration. It was only a few hours before closing on a Sunday afternoon so I left my phone overnight and I had it back before noon on Monday. There was nothing complicated about the process.
After four years of use, my pixel 1 power connecter wasn't working (the charger had to be pressed at the exact right angle for it to charge). I submitted a claim and they sent me a new one without any issues. Two days later, however, that phone died and would not turn on even if it was plugged in. We called them and they sent a second phone. This time the microphone didn't work. The third phone would crash whenever I tried to make a call. Now, the fourth phone keeps randomly dying even when the battery has fifty percent power left and it won't connect to wifi networks even after I've tried all the all the software fixes. The asurion customer service was very kind, but clearly however they repair phones is a flawed and possible fraudulent process. I would not recommend them to anyone.
This company is ridiculous now, my phone was on back order and I hadn't had a phone for 3 days. Ended buying a substitute to get me by. What is the point of having insurance on all my phones if I can't get next day service? Even if I get in a car wreck I can get a rental the next day. 2 weeks still no phone, had to call a total of 11 times just to get the answers I needed and complain all the way to the end. I will never use this company ever again. As soon as this phone is paid off, which will be next week, I will get an Apple and go with Apple Care. I've already paid for 3 phones with this insurance plan and have only received one. What a rip off! You've been warned!
All techs were knowledgeable and experienced a quicker process than previous claim.
On another note- Surgcharges are astronomical for this service in conjunction with the insurance we pay monthly and tenure we have with ATT. Please lower your surcharge prices for replacement IPhones.
This is my second time needing their assistance with a product I purchased. The process to receive help/repair was seamless and so easy. The protection plans are def worth it!
I had upgraded my phone (iPhone 12) through Verizon. I kept my old phone (iPhone Max/10) to use has a tablet for my kids. The screen cracked and I sent it in under the Asurion Home Plus plan I have through Verizon. Even though I filled out the paperwork online and told them that it was an old cell phone not connected to the network, and they took my money. They sent me two emails stating that they were still working on it. I had to call two weeks later and ask what was up. They told me that someone should have contacted me about a week and a half ago to tell me that they don't fix cell phones under the Home Plus deal. So, they would refund me the money and send me back the cell phone. I received the refund after two days. But it has been over a month, and I am still waiting for the cell phone to be returned. I have called several times and it seems that I am transferred and least 3 times.
Brandon explained everything to me before he did anything, made sure I understood he made it easy to understand. He told me what to expect and kept me informed. Did not take very long and it came out perfect.
The tech put a lot of time and effort into resolving my problem. While the only solution is for me to delete a number of contacts and re-enter each one, the tech did everything he could to find a quicker and easier solution. That's quality tech support!
I feel if you have insurance than when something happens to your phone you should not have to pay a $25 deductible. You are paying twice and that is not fair. That is my only draw back, a lot of people I have talk to about the deductible feel the same way.
I think that should change thank you for your time.
Just needed my shattered phone replaced. Because I couldn't receive texts on my very broken phone I had to go through a 45 minute process on the phone where a very nice woman(the only good thing about this company) had to ask me personal questions from my "public record" to confirm my identity. Then I waited a day for the go ahead to complete my claim. They still required my photo ID to be uploaded. HMMMM. I get making sure security is tight but why did I have to call at all? Why not just ask for ID in the first place so I could complete the claim on the barely working eye straining disgusting purple website. Thank you to Elizabeth the customer service representative who did an amazing job but absolutely every step of this process was hell. This company should be shut down. Why Verizon would use such a sketchy third part for their insurance blows my mind.
I went online did the insurance claim for the broken phone on my acct answered a few questions, it was approved, received the new phone in 3 days. Couldn't of done that any faster. Very satisfied customer
Never pay for this insurance on your mobile devices. Not only have they screwed up once but twice! I get charged for non return unit fee when clearly my tracking # from the USPS reflect that I have delivered the parcel. Asurion has a 3rd party company that picks up the parcel and that's where the screw up happens! But assurion and AT&T will toss you back & forth and no one is reversing the fees and it's costing me so much time to get that hefty $650 fee reversed!
As a result of a difficult hardware problem with my laptop, Asurion was able to isolate and repair my Lenovo laptop perfectly to the point of being in the condition it was when I purchased it new. Thanks for the excellent work and best regards. Satisfied customer.
I filed a claim for a damaged phone and within two days I had received the replacement phone and the packaging to return the damaged phone within 30 days. The process was easy, stress-free, and very efficient.
Sent our TV in for repair/replacement. Filed a claim due to a blue line down the screen, volume control didnt work anymore.
When TV was returned, it wouldn't even turn on. Called company, given usual BS, now have it packed up to go back.
First time i had to file a claim, was great experience. Definitely not this time.
Waiting to see what else if anything they can screw up.
Very positive experience. Technician was on time and very professional and knowledgeable.
My experience was good at the store, Jose took care of my problem and solve it quickly. My problem was doing the claim. I had to make three claims because I opted for mail in repair, but somehow, the staff at Asurion had problems with my address
Answer: Asurion insurance is who: Cricket Wireless, Verizon, & most remaining cell phone companies are with now! Just be careful b/c they are IMO SCAMMERS that will get you at one time or another!
Answer: Well, when that happened to me they sent me their IMO SPYWARE phone by the next day. I think it was like twenty-five days for my phone! I hope you kept your charger, case, & took the cards out of your phone first!
Hello, Paul. We appreciate your feedback and has been captured. Any price changes we advised our customers to be in the loop. -Rue
