The slides for answers are annoying. I want to see the question and the answer together. When I search to find something it does not even offer a next page, just one page half filled with how to stuff that has nothing to do with my search
I totally agree with everyone else and avoid this website like the plague! It is way too frustrating and I end up getting dumped from my browser every time. Too bad because there seems to be a lot of interesting things to look at, but it is obvious they are just out to get $$$ from advertisers and I wouldn't buy anything from this site because it is a mess
I wish I could give this site negative stars. Just the worst of the worst. They sucker you in with interesting topics. Once in the slide, it is almost impossible to click on the next slide. They place the advertisements as close as possible to the non functioning next button so you always end up accidently clicking on the ad. The scumbag designers of this page should have their digits chopped off so they can never burden society with similar formats again.
They are one of those bottom feeder clickbait websites and they are all bad but this one takes first prize for being the absolute worse. They inundate their website with so many ads that it takes forever to load and when it finally does it doesn't work properly and looks terrible. I just came from one of those stupid top 10 clickbait things they have and it was ridiculous. You have to click the "next" button to reload the page multiple time just to get to the next number in the list. Each time you click it has a couple of sentences of information, then you have to click again to get more of the information. All in an attempt to generate money from ads. I doubt they have a single journalist that works there. Websites like this should be wiped from the face of the earth. Don't support them and never visit.
I love answers.com because it provides one with the ability to (1) Ask questions that others out there can answer (2) Answer questions that others have asked and are looking to be answered.
I have found it to be at times a great research tool and an informational site because the answers that some do provide have been known to be extremely helpful to others.
If I see answers.com on a news or personal interest link I won't even waste my time. You can measure the speed of the bandwidth with a sun dial. The only reason I gave it one star is because I don't have the option of a negative star.
This website should be included in every course on web design as to how NOT to engineer a web project. It's an absolutely failure in every imaginable aspect: from content - to composition - to performance. A remarkable example of sheer incompetence.
I went to the site tempted by the promise of a clever response from a waitress to a rude customer. I gave up after 12 pages of a meandering story, 1 sentence at a time. Guess I'll never know the "answer". Maybe they don't either.
How many $#*!ing times do I have to post this?
I should NOT have to click "next" 60 God-forsaken times to see 20 God damned pictures.
$#*! you, $#*! your mother, daughter, niece, sibling and $#*! your $#*!-stained $#*!-sucking $#*! of a grand mother.
Never again will I visit this $#*!ing site. $#*! them.
Ads auto play and overlap each other so you have 3 ads playing at once at different speeds and can't understand or hear any of the messages. The pages take forever, if ever, to load. This is the crappiest website ever.
Answers.com could be such a great site if it weren't so utterly stupid. I don't want to click on an arrow 5 times to read about one topic in their list of 10 whatevers. I really hate the site and it pains me every time I happen upon it!
This is the crappiest web site I have ever seen. It makes dial-up porn from the 90s look like a slick presentation. There are so many stupid flash ads that they disable the site. The company actually claims they use the latest technology--well, even a BMW sucks when you fill it full of garbage and burn out the engine.
I can't believe Google even indexes this site. From a usability standpoint, it's literally worthless. With the amount of Ads they shove in your face and the poorly optimized slideshow/content, it can take upwards of 20 minutes to try to make your way through a simple slideshow, even at 35mbps down. I don't understand how this is allowed to exist.
That said, I sort of understand why they do it like this; to get more ad views/clicks, they require a page load for each slide. It's kinda shady, and a terrible user experience -- Especially the way it was coded. I avoid this site like the plague.
This is the most frustrating site I have ever been on. SLOW is not even the word I'd use, torturous pain, waiting for the freaking thing to go from on page to the next is enough to make me watch and avoid any of their "information".
I think they have great possibilities as a website. I called them at their office below
6665 Delmar Blvd, Suite 300
Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

And told them they had major problems and should look at this website for feedback. They tried to ask if it was a specific page. I said it was anything ever I tried to view 10 amazing facts, 10 things you don't want to know (I made that up) I said it would be much better if they loaded the pictures for instance on 1 page and you could page down to see better than the eons it takes to load. It take so long my google wants to close the program. Maybe the next best thing to do its to contact their advertisers and tell them how much you hate their site just the fact that their ad is loading and playing over and over makes you want to never drink the Starbucks coffee again. This is my opinion.
There are a couple articles on Answers.com that pique my interest and I'd love to read/see them; However, Answers.com takes a 10 minutes read and turns it into a 20 minutes read because they break the article up over several pages! Not to mention all the ads! The site loads all the ads first which takes up a lot of time since there are so many. The latest article I saw was a video and an ad with sound kept playing while the video was playing which was distracting. I had to pause my video 7 times to wait for the ad to get done playing! This site needs to either shut down or improve! (Also, the video was on the very last page. But, when I got to the second page in the article, the site crashed. I've had this happen every time I try to read any articles from this site and I've come to expect this for every article! It's ridiculous!)
Can't stand the site, all they do is tell you about lists, and you'll have to go through a number of slides, with a very brief description about each item, instead of putting all the information about each item on one slide, just to get to the next item on the list. It is annoying and very slow.
The site would work if you did one thing: Get rid of the Starbucks ads. First of all, it is advertising a product debut that happened 18 months ago. Secondly, it is an autoplay video which sucks up all of the bandwidth and won't allow the actual content to load. Is this good for Answers? No!. Is it good for Starbucks? No! All it does is piss people off about Starbucks and leaves, pardon the expression, a bad taste in our mouths. DUMP STARBUCKS!
This site provides links to interesting topics on yahoo.com. When you click on it, you are taken to a list of 10 or so things, that would normally take 2 minutes, but it takes closer to 2 hours to get through the list, IF YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE. It is doubtful anyone has ever made it through an entire list. It is understandable that since the site provides its content free of charge that it needs to advertise, but the content actually takes a back seat to the advertisements. You might enjoy this site if you are a very patient person with a high tolerance for B. S. and you watch TV for the commercials. I only give it one star because that is the minimum that I can give.
I rarely have time to check my statements, few weeks ago I saw a 66 dollars withdrawal from my account and I did not recognize it, called my credit company, THEY TOLD ME ABOUT 14 months withdrawals from my account, I remembered 14 months ago I asked a question they asked for 2 dollars payment with my credit card then they continued to withdraw 66 dollars from my account for 14 months, they are scammers do not trust Answers.com
Answer: Same I dint get an awnser
Answer: The content is meaningless fluff, so don't worry about reading any articles from Answers.com as their site has anything but answers. It's a clicklbait site designed to draw the curious in and lock their computers so they stare at the ads waiting indeterminable amounts of time for the next slide to load. Stay away, it's a trap.
