Nothing will take the place of print books! There is a feeling, a panache if you will, in holding a book in your hands, in flipping pages back and forth and yes, in savoring the aroma of the pages, be they newly printed or reeking with the mustines that comes of great age in a quiet library. Kindle cannot match the timelessness of a print book. But they don't have to! What Amazon Kindle does is to enable new writers to essentially "self-publish" and to allow the market-place to decide the worth of the book on its own. It stands by itself, or it fails based on how it is received by the on-line community. And while Amazon has not yet figured out how to waft the aroma of books electronically, or to fold back the corner of a page for future reference, it succeeds in providing a convenient way to read a book -- nay, MANY books -- in a compact format. You can read on your computer screen, on a tablet or on a smart phone, limited only by the amount of charge in your battery. Kindle books are sometimes offered free for various periods of time. This is often a marketing tactic to stimulate demand for an author's work. Otherwise, Kindle books typically range from 99 cents to perhaps $9.99. They are delivered instantly to your reader and they are yours forever. Also, when you read a book on Kindle, you might love it enough to go out and buy a hard copy to grow old with... or to have the author sign. I just bought a hard copy of Caroline Glick's excellent analysis, "The Israeli Solution," after reading it on Kindle, and she signed it. Reader, go, search Kindle. Find a book that you have to read. Buy it. Read it. Repeat.

The over $800 order I was allowed to place...
NONE of the products I ordered were ACTUALLY in stock, although they ALL claimed to be in stock.
Originally wasn't allowed by customer service to cancel the order ("your order is preparing to ship") Finally 2 different agents told me NONE OF THE ITEMS were in stock.
They refused to cancel the order so I could get my $$ back. Finally, I was able to cancel the order myself in the app.
Now I won't get a refund until the items get to their Amazon facility? They were out of stock on all these items to begin with it turns out, but they were allowed to take my $$ before my items were shipped, but I can't get my $$ back until they receive the items from wherever THEY ordered it from?!?!
If these items were not in stock, it should have said so on the Amazon app and I wouldn't have ordered them.
They refuse refund until they get the items to their facility...but they were NEVER THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE...
Walmart ordering and shipping is much easier.

Converting other gift cards from Amazon to Google for my needs, this is an interesting site I thank Amazon.

I am NOT a fan of Amazon, but it was not always this way. In spite of the shipping costs; which add anywhere from 50% to 150% of the cost of the item being ordered to the final cost of that order. No, that I was able to overlook. My problem with Amazon is actually with their third-party sellers. Amazon is not doing its due diligence in determining whether these are reputable sellers worthy of having access to Amazon's advertising and customers. My kindle is full of books bought with free books given me by Amazon due to countless gaffs by; "Yep, you guessed it"; third party sellers. Unfortunately most of the items I require are not offered by Amazon, and therefore NOT stocked in their warehouses. I have been sent items that I did not order instead of what I did order, I have NOT received anything at all, I have been informed the day before the item was supposed to be delivered, that it would not be coming at all. My laundry list of reasons why I am BOYCOTTING AMAZON. But none of them are actually Amazon's fault. Well, not directly their fault. But their negligence in rectifying this state of affairs, has created or allowed this deplorable inconsistency in service to exist. That being said; if Amazon were to take my countless suggestions about eliminating Third-party sellers, or were they to find a way to find some way to ensure me that I would receive what I ordered, when I ordered it, or if they could guarantee a significantly earlier email telling me the item cannot be delivered. If they didn't rip me off for a large portion of my shipping costs when those items are not delivered then I would go back to them in a second.
