I thought I had found a decent eBay alternative, but as time went by, I experienced one seller after another that did not send me the product as they had described it. I managed to get a few refunds on some minor products that weren't delivered, but when it comes to trying to get a refund on a product that wasn't as described, good luck. Many of the sellers on AliExpress or taking advantage of the lack of good buyer protection. One example, I ordered two pillows that are supposed to be 100% down filled, but I get 100% feather-filled instead. I could have plucked my own chickens for those pillows. I have had some relatively good success on some more pricey items and to be fair it's not all bad. Unfortunately, as time goes by AliExpress will lose its reputation for a reliable and trustworthy website to purchase from.

I needed the upper part for a telescopic folding bike handlestem. SENQI cycling store sells both parts, so I asked them if I could only buy the upper part with a diameter of 25.4 mm. Will Fu answered that I could have it for $15. Somehow he could not change the price of the complete (upper and lower parts) handlestem, so he told me to order another item, in this case a handlebar that happend to cost $14.97, and he would then send me the desired part of the handlestem. I placed my order and paid. Now Will Fu said he did not have the item after all. I was at a loss of words and wanted to cancel the order. I gave "Seller did not have the item in stock" as the reason. Will Fu refused to cancel the order twice because he wanted me to give "Other reasons" and thus mislead other buyers. I refused, so he threatened to send me the handlebar, and it seems he did. I will open a dispute a. S.a. P., refuse to accept the parcel and file a claim with my credit card company.
I must say that this was the worst shop in China EVER. Blacklist them and buy elsewhere!

I ordered a new phone (store xiaomi MC). They said it was "in stock" and estimate delivery 20-41 days. It took 17 days (according to delivery tracking) to just pick/package the phone (if you belive them?) and send it to a sorting centre, then another 6 days to transfer to the air courier in China (more LIE'S). And currently its meant to be flying between China and Australia for the LAST 22 DAYS and still going! (I assume on a plane with very big fuel tanks!). I've messaged the Store for an explanation and got many stupid replies telling nothing usefull except the last message says after 60 days I can open a dispute for a refund! My order no. RB*******SG I don't believe they had the phone in stock when I ordered it. BE WARNED THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS HONEST!

Terrible company

Order a manicure grinder with ac/dc adapter and it adapter must be for a different country because it doesn't plug in to American plug-ins. Tried to contact company to get different adapter and their site would not recognize my password or mobile phone number. There is no way to contact them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Scandal!

My order number is **************. The seller sent the wrong size. I ordered L, but XL was sent to me, inferior quality and full of thread around the jacket. Reached out to the seller, no meaningful response about the size mistake at all but saying it would be zero refund. Then I disputed, the seller again closed down the dispute with nothing said. I appealed the dispute results, again, the management team of AliExpress rejected my appeal without any explanation! I uploaded the evidence over and over as shown in the picture that the size they sent is XL, what else do they need?

I ordered my wedding rings from here. The product never arrived and aliexpress would not refund them. So I have no wedding rings and an empty pocket. The customer service is robotic it is impossible to deal with a person. Therefore if your refund request does not fit the headings on the web page it will not be refunded. I am disgusted!

Clothes are too small--not normal fits for USA--seller does not really help in the refund dept. I bought a NFL type jacket not official and the pics looked OK but when it arrived even in XL it was too small... then it had iron on looking plastic patches.

No Buyer protection

Based on 30 purchases, quality is low (which is expected) and Sellers will rarely provide reasonable refunds, if any. Ali Express 'officially' offers Buyer protection. You can only contact their service desk via a scripted chat line. When a Seller has f... you over, they keep promising to cover and investigate, but they never did. You are on your own with the sellers and they have don't respond to Ali Express. I lost about $100 in total based on crappy devices that break down in a matter of 2 weeks or simply are not as indicated in pictures or description. I ended up waiving all my disputes and open orders and close my account.

I ordered a xiaomi phone on January. It arrived on March and was seized by customs. I plied with ALI to extend my buyer's protection, in order to have some guarantee, that if the phone is broken after I pay the customs fees, I will get my money back. They did not do anything although they were reassuring me that everything will be OK. They released the money to the seller before I got the phone in my hands. I paid for customs 50 more euros (original cost was 170 euros) and the phone was broken. The seller was not cooperating and Ali express continuously lying to me in the chat. The seller said I could sent back the phone for repair or refund. I send it and begged for a refund. Ali completely lied to me and ignored me and the seller decided to send back the phone without a refund and without writing on the parcel that customs have been already paid. Now I have to pay 50 more euros in customs and they both do not care or do anything. Avoid them, buy from other places.

After 8 months I didn't received my phone. Store claims it was sent but I don't have it. Time for make a dispute is over, any way to reclaim money back is over. Aliexpress and store support has many nice - looking automated answers starting "My Friend" (+may emotikons), but it changes nothing. No phone, no money back. Can't do nothing.

Ordered a product that never came. Their Chat line is useless and the dispute process a scam. You can't dispute while your buyer protection is still valid and then once it isn't they say well you've missed the deadline for a dispute. Their Chat line are useless. They just keep repeating the same questions and nothing ever gets resolved. You have to contact the seller if something goes wrong and then they never respond.

Scam

Days and days, hours and hours of trying to get my issue resolved. The package arrived and did not match the product description. No customer service, except a "chat" feature, where you "chat" with someone who doesn't really understand the problem and has no ability to solve it. Very scam-like. To get a refund, I have to pay to ship it back to China, and then wait for the already suspiciously dishonest seller to maybe process the refund. Do not do business with this website; choose a source that can handle issues in a responsible, honest, direct, clear manner (you cannot get this from this website retailer).

I've experienced the shang-hi, and will neverrr, EVERRRRRRR order anything from China; unless it's through AMAZON! That way, I know it'll be resolved if they try to stiff me in any way. Word to the wise, AMERICAN: DON'T EVER ORDER FROM A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T HAVE A 1-800 NUMBER TO MAKE PERSONAL CONTACT WITH THEIR SERVICE.

Sent all TEN SEPARATE ORDERS to another state that I never listed as my address and then tell me order completed and will not send my order and I have been WAITING FOR FOUR MONTHS! Company says they will notify MaYa Party Balloons Supplies with courtesy message for the THIRD TIME. STILL BEING STIFFED! MaYa Party Balloons Supplies apparently sent an empty box to some random address and then tell me my order is completed. SCAM! NEVER ORDER FROM ALLIEXPRSS. They do nothing. I still have nothing after four months.

No Protection.

Aliexpress always on vendor's side.

Sellers refused to make refund for defective products, use delay tactics etc.

Every purchase transaction is like taking a gamble.
