Be careful of the giant book warehouses -- they sometimes have strange copies of the available book, but don't make that clear in the description. For example, the novel I received is an edition for readers of German trying to learn English, and is filled with footnotes explaining complex English words in German! Yes, I can still read the novel, but this would not have been the copy I chose if I had known.

I saw that several cheap paperbacks we wanted were listed as having free shipping so I added three to this order. But when I went to pay, additional shipping was charged for all three so I cut my order back to the one book that was a necessity.
Until the end, I didn't know how to minimize shipping, etc. Trying to buy banned books to send to Naval Academy. Sent you an email to ask about really high shipping. Got message your own email address not good. So tried again by just ordering books from one store. THEN got how to optimize message and the cart was rearranged. Long tedious project, what with going back and forth from list of banned books to what I can find on your site. That's not your problem, but an earlier message about Cart Optimizer would really have helped.
Decent selection and fairly fast shipping. However the independent seller I bought from grossly misrepresented the condition of a book and refused to pay for return shipping. Alibris also refused to help, offering only a credit toward future purchases.
Product was in good condition and good price. It came in a reasonable time frame. Used books are the way to go, unless it's for a gift of course. Books are so expensive and stay in great shape for awhile. So making them available to others at a reasonable price makes sense.
I have ordered from Alibris repeatedly and have been quite satisfied with both the process and the books. For some reason the last book took two weeks to travel from western Missouri to eastern Kansas vis post office. I guess this is a review of the post office rather than Alibris.

I had read several books by Deborah Harkness and they were no longer at the public library. I had watched a movie on one of her books and wanted to re-read the books in her series. I find her books very interesting from a historical perspective and the references to mythology intriguing as well. The interplay with modern science makes a very enjoyable yarn. The great price captured my decision to place the order.
It is so easy to find the books I want that are no longer available in the public library. The cost is low which appeals to my thrifty nature.
Received the book fine. Almost 3 weeks later, I received an email concerning the order that only had the order number and not the book title, so I had no idea what book order was being asked about. I'm old. I had to reset my password to get back into my account and check to see what I had ordered. I order books from different places, for myself or my church. All this, so I could go back to your current email and say yes, I received the book 3 weeks ago! I could have spent this time on some other activity.

Figuring out the most economical way to order to minimize shipping charges (which are steep) is a bit complicated, and the checkout process was delayed due to a "timeout" that caused me to have repeat the whole process.
My shopping cart empties frequently. I do not want to create an account. I used to be able to add items to my cart and it would remember the contents till the next time I went shopping. Now I believe I am supposed to open an account with a password etc. I liked the previous system better.
Items I saved in my shopping cart kept disappearing through the day. Then when I went to pay, other books I had in my shopping cart from a few days ago reappeared suddenly.
The last time I ordered a book from alibris they sent me the wrong book. It was very time consuming to try and get this corrected, and I still have not gotten the right book. We'll see if the same thing happens with this book.

I used express shipping (5-7 business days) and it got here on the 7th day. I added tracking ability in my order (for the package) which didn't update/work very well, but it still got to me in time so I'm not upset. Would recommend this store to anyone looking for textbooks. The quality of my textbook (that was second hand) is amazing.
