Description of the book condition as simply "good" lacks more precise details.(e.g. Ex Library book? Dust jacket? Etc.) Otherwise, a fairly satisfactory experience.

Shipping is very expensive and I also have experiences being told that a book are availeble, only to learn that it was not. This is not the way I like to do business.

I changed my shipping address to a location in the US (WV) - for a book being shipped from Ohio. Because I usually ship to my home in Berlin, the system refused to change my shipping rate from "International Shipping" to domestic (US). I ordered the book anyway, and maybe the OH dealer will handle it; maybe not, it doesn't matter. But the system should be changed to recognize US-to-US shipments and price accordingly. FYI. Ok so far. No problems. It took me a while to work out that one of the books I was looking at would be mailed from USA, although the seller is allegedly on Gloucestershire. Puzzling

This popup is rather annoying so knocked it down a star.
I'd like to be able to combine shipping on books ordered from the same seller, but that's not stopping me shopping here.

This one was fine, hopefully, but several orders placed in recent months have not gone through and resulted in cancellations with refunds by the sellers.

It was great, though you have to think outside the box and search on international versions of alibris to really be complete about scouring for good deals.

Placed order, within minutes received confirmation. 2 or 3 hours later, order cancelled by Alibris! Item no longer available!
Alternative copy now ordered...

Straightforward site design yet all needed information at one's fingertips; good selection, well-priced; all items ordered as described and arriving promptly so far.

One slight improvement so you won't be labled/libled as Amazon, quote the shipping cost as one selects an item and don't just chuck it in at the end.
This is very tedious, and if you want my opinion, I wld not choose your coy as a first choice.
I always get four prices and alibris is quickly sliding off my list of coys to get prices off for exactly the reason I have stated above.
Well, I saved approx 25% from other quoted prices, but it has taken me hrs to delete, chk the postage on each item individually, etc, etc, quite tedious.
Will I sit through this experience again? I think not.

Expected delivery date did not appear on PC screen until AFTER I had placed order. This important information should have appeared BEFORE the customer has to decide whether to commit or not to the purchase.

Quickly found what I was looking for and selected a very good copy. Placed my order and everything went smoothly. Thank you! I look forward to reading the book.

Great! But a bit surprised that international shipping increased with £2 without any explanation. It does add quite a bit to the total when buying from many different sellers.

It was simple and easy to find what I wanted. The delivery charges seem a little high and there delivery time frame is not specified before you make payment.

Everything works as expected, information mostly clear, a few more steps compared to others to see shipping cost, but I understand why things are the way they are.

Excellent search facility and a wide range of options for type. Checkout very easy, although it would be nice if you could add a Paypal option at checkout.

The first thing I noticed is that the website has all the books, I didn't feel like I was limited in any way, I ordered just now, so the actual shipping process will show soon enough, but one thing is for sure, alibris has good prices, especially for people who purchase books all the time
