Alibris UK

When trying to pay by credit card the screen does not offer me an option to enter my security number on the card. So I have to leave the site then return then it offers me such an option. This is frustrating.

Fantastic! I used to borrow this book from my school Library in Texas *50* years ago. When I left that school, I wanted to keep the book because I loved it SO much, but I left it in the Library! I've found it after all these years, and it is coming to me in the northeast of Scotland, where I now live! Alibris is making a 50-year-old wish come true!

It wouldn't accept my credit card details 3 times but then magically did, and secondly, you are selling the same book - one copy for 74p and another for £11. What's wrong with the 74p version? I guess I will find out :)

As usual very easy to order books. I'm sure they will be delivered withe Alibris ' normal speed.

Some sort of Internet gateway error at the first attempt. Otherwise, fine.

Would be so good if 2 things were in place:
A) a way of calculating the shipping costs on the fly
B) a way of amalgamating the order into as few separate retailers as possible for the best price overall

I love being able to buy from book dealers from all over the country. It's great to support them and not the awful Bezos! The Alibris website is very easy to use and there's a huge selection of books at very reasonable prices.

I wanted to pay with PayPal but was unable to. I was also unable to enter my alphanumeric UK postcode despite having chosen the United Kingdom in the country field. If I hadn't really wanted the book and wanted to buy it from this particular seller because they are nearby, I would have given up. Eventually, by going via the seller's page, I was able to checkout successfully. No PayPal option, though. A frustrating, user-hostile experience.

Actual purchase process is fine, but I could not find where the "Good", "Very good", etc. book conditions are defined.
I really like to know if there are, or are likely to be, faults in the book that I would find unacceptable, or other faults that I would be happy to accept only if the price is right

I like the concept of Alibris, but a small problem in the shopping experience is there isn't as much description of the books as on Amazon. I always end up having to read the blurb about the book on Amazon and some of the reviews there, before coming back to Alibris to buy the book. This wastes some time.

Prices of books are good but the shipping costs are a bit of a shock at the end - there doesn't seem to be any sense that shipping costs for multiple books bought from the same seller have discounted rates.

Shipping far too expensive compared with many other book sellers and around the world; I wouldn't recommend shopping here unless you live in the UK, or a country where books can be posted to you at a sensible postage rate.

Lately, it seems Alibris fails to charge my credit card pretty much every time I purchase something, and I end up having to retry several times (and along the way "update" my stored credit card information by entering it again) before the checkout will finally work.

I have ordered a book but the shipping is really small, and its shipping from USA so am a bit confused, but want the order so have placed it, but I think something was not right. Anyhow, looking forward to getting the book.

So far very good. I used to use Alibris a lot some years ago but when I couldn't find the titles I wanted I went elsewhere. However, decided to once again start using Alibris and found the item straight away at a very good price. Thank you.
