After I use this app every day i want to pour bleach in my eyes and rip them out and then jump into a bullet ant pit and then peel all of my natural fingernails off. It brings sadness and anger out of everyone. The ALEKS developerss should delete the app from existence and then kill themselves. I want to tie a noose if this doesn't work then I will light myself ablaze. God $#*!ing dammit. I want to kill people after this. ALEKS is the best math program on the market! It takes students hours to complete, as well as making students want to k*ll themselves. If you want to die, just log on and do a few topics. This will greatly increase your willingness to jump off a bridge. It also cured my happiness! I love how the creators of ALEKS were trying to simulate Auschw*tz for kids!

I never knew I had algolagnia (pain fetish) until I met aleks. The feeling of working on a problem for an hour, to finally get the right answer and then to have aleks bealive you're wrong, there is nothing like it. Even my dad leaveing me when I was 5 does not even compear to the pain I feel when I see the demonic orange text "Try Again". I bealive aleks was created by the dark lord, becuase I have only seen the dark lord twice. Once when I was on mushrooms and the other time was when I spent an entire day working on one section of aleks.

ALEKS is the best way to ACTUALLY learn math. It gives no multiple choice options, making you do your own work instead of leaning on order of magnitude guesses. It does not let you move on unless you really understand a concept and can solve problems. You only have to get three problems right to move past a section. Guess what? If you can't get three measly problems right, you SHOULDN'T be moving on! This is for students who want to actually learn and use math. You will learn how to check your work and be a thorough problem solver. If you don't like the concept explanation given in ALEKS, guess what? Youtube and Google exist. Lazy students act like they don't have the capability of looking up an alternative explanation or supplemental material. That's what learning is. Get a working explanation for you, then come back and solve problems. Math is learned by doing and ALEKS is excellent at assessing your ability to handle each concept and moves the student forward in a very straightforward, logical way, with easier concepts building up to more difficult ones. You can go back and review at any time and there is a lot of supplemental material to take notes from. I used it in one online course and then got a subscription and used it as a supplement to ALL of my college courses and it allowed me to ALWAYS be ahead of the curve. I LOVE this program!

Aleks is for people who want to put a band-aid to fix a problem if you want to learn math hire real teachers and not this fake internet math.

Hello, I am a student at a school with an option to take a course called "math pathways" based on the "ALEKS" program, I've been in this class for 2 days, (traditional math was not working out for me this year) And I absolutely LOVE this program-hear me out before you come for me, I just started (2 days ago) so I don't know for sure but I have become so much more motivated, sure it has its moments. However I have improved my quality of work after starting this class. I would like to add i have Attention Deficite hyperactive disorder (ADHD) so that could influence my opinion, my pie below.

My wife left me, she took the kids, i got demoted to janitor, got evicted from my house, and my pp shrunk 27%. My healthcare provider is gone. But when I found ALEKS, everything has changed. I got fired but found a new job and make 13 million a year, my wife loves me. I got another kid, my kids love me, i use luxury healthcare providers for my cool guy syndrome (luxury adderal), i have a mansoin, an my pp grew 37 feet longer. Thank you, ALEKS!

I'm a college student, taking Gen Chem which I needed ALEKS for. ALEKS is supposed to gague your intelligence in topics but the only thing it gagued whats how much rope I needed to make a noose. Ask your self, whats more important-Your sanity? Or spending 20 min on a problem to count it wrong because you abbreviated the word "hour" with "hr" instead of "h". THATS RIGHT SAY GOODBYE TO SANITY. I'm having my nurse type this for me since I literally gouged both my eyes out with my pens. I'd rather doggy-scoot 50 miles through shards of broken glass and $#! Then sit in a nice bath of bleach at the end of it than use this terrible program again.

ALEKS is an educational math site led by the company, McGraw-Hill. It for some reason has been used by many schools in America and other countries, but ALEKS and its parent company have problems that I will discuss. So, in this essay, I will bring up the argument that ALEKS should be abolished from the Clermont northeastern school system or should be modified/ replaced with a better substitute. My reasons are that ALEKS spies on students to steal private information to grow their artificial intelligence that uses machine learning, McGraw-Hill has done controversial/ problematic things, and other sites like Khan Academy are better at teaching than ALEKS.

ALEKS spies on students. For example, this FAQ (frequently asked questions) document from ALEKS customer support states "Respondus Monitor is an automated "remote proctoring" companion application for LockDown Browser that uses webcam and video technology to record students... " (ALEKS customer support pg. 1). This means that ALEKS uses an application that records students. This evidence shows that ALEKS spies on students to steal private information to grow their artificial intelligence that uses machine learning because they admitted that they use webcam technology to record students. So, ALEKS and its parent company McGraw-Hill have done this but that's not the only shady thing McGraw-Hill has done.

McGraw-Hill has done controversial/problematic things. For example, McGraw-Hill sued the estate of essayist James Baldwin because he died before he could finish his book "remember this house" and pay back the $200,000 advance that McGraw-Hill gave him. The New York Times states "Several publishing executives said they had never encountered a case of a publisher pursuing the estate of a dead author to recover an advance." (Roger Cohen, 1990). This means that publishing executives said that a case like the McGraw-hill v. James Baldwin estate lawsuit is a very rare one. This evidence relates to the idea that the McGraw-Hill company has done controversial things because many lawyers, publishing executives, and regular citizens did not like this decision which is the meaning of controversial. A problematic thing McGraw-Hill has done is revise history. For example, CNN states "... to vent her frustration over the wording of a passage in her son's "World Geography" textbook that calls African slaves "workers" and "immigrants."(McAfee). This means that McGraw-hill called kidnapped slaves "workers and immigrants" when they were clearly not. This evidence relates back to the idea that McGraw-hill has done problematic things because falsifying history is an incredibly problematic concept. Since ALEKS has done problematic things I think it's time for a substitute.

Khan Academy is better than ALEKS. For example review site "Site Jabber" says "ALEKS has a consumer rating of 1.24 stars from 1,493 reviews indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. ALEKS ranks 196th among tutor sites…positive reviews (last 12 months): 6.5%" (sitejabber.com) while the overview for Khan academy is "Khan Academy has a consumer rating of 3.71 stars from 63 reviews indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Consumers satisfied with Khan Academy most frequently mention high school. Khan Academy ranks 10th among math sites… positive reviews (last 12 months): 83.3%" (sitejabber.com). This means that people (teachers and students) like khan academy more than ALEKS. This evidence relates to the point that other sites are better than ALEKS because people on average enjoy khan academy's teachings better than ALEKS. Another piece of evidence is that Khan Academy support says "Our Website. With thousands of videos, it is easily the most exhaustive collection of instruction on the Internet allowing learners to know that they can fill in almost any of their "gaps" with the content on this site." (khan academy). This means that Khan academy has more material to help students than Aleks. This evidence supports the idea that khan academy is better than ALEKS because Khan academy has materials to actually teach and help students. Khan academy is, in my humble opinion, better than ALEKS.

So in conclusion, ALEKS should be abolished from the Clermont northeastern school system or should be modified/ replaced with a better substitute because ALEKS spies on students to steal private information to grow their artificial intelligence that uses machine learning, McGraw-Hill has done controversial/ problematic things, and other sites like Khan Academy are better at teaching than ALEKS. Just in my personal opinion as a student, keeping it as the main website for math in this district is worse for students and teachers who use ALEKS as a resource.

I noticed how many bad reviews ALEKS was receiving, which doesn't much sense to me due to the fact that it is a great program. Many of the bad reviews are mainly because the only people who actually leave reviews likely have something to complain about. Personally, ALEKS was great for me due to the fact that I can work at my own pace. I've seen multiple reviews complaining about how hard it is, and how it's unfair how hard the topics are. I find this a joke as the longest I've ever taken on a topic was around 10 minutes, and even if I don't know how something works, there's this handy little feature called the "explanation" button, which explains clearly and in detail how to complete the math problem. The way ALEKS is set up, I was able to do 3 years of math in one year, twice in a row. I'm currently in pre-calc, and I'm assuming most of the people in the reviews are not this far in math. It is very easy to progress, in fact, how my school is set up you are required to do 15 ALEKS topics a week, and we have 40 minutes of designated ALEKS time (usually) every day. I have actually been prevented from doing ALEKS due to how far ahead I have gotten, easily getting 45-60 topics per week.

I am so fortunate to have a school system that supports our students with this program.
I do think that an instructor needs to be available and that this program should supplement instruction from a human being. I think it takes a teacher to help young folks to love the logic flow and problem-solving that math is. Bernoulli? Occam's Razor? Fibonacci?
I am concerned about the plethora of negative reviews here. I find Aleks to be the best I could hope for... expecially during CoVid. Geese we had so much to do going into online instruction overnight... Aleks helps students who cannot be in Brick and Mortar. We use this program for traditional classes and online classes.
So why do you need an instructor now that the program can teach everything?
It cannot, humans just have too many variables. Teaching must be interactive and the instructor needs to tap into the passion the student has for the course we are teaching. (Some just do not know that they love math... yet!)

I would rather fight omni-man and Jesus at the same time than spend another MILLISECOND doing ALEKS. If I showed the founding fathers this piece of trash, they would unfound America and commit suicide. If zombies existed, they would regain humanity if we showed them ALEKS. It stirs an animalistic rage that makes you want to jump out your window, find each and every founder of this god awful program and murder them one by one. You start to do it, but instead you force them to finish… every… single… topic to make them realize what god awful human beings they are. I 100% certifiably guarantee that Hitler and Stalin have caused less death and destruction than this glorified pile of ants.
