I'm an eighth grade student, and we use Aleks. My teacher uses it as a grade, and I was at 39% but got pushed back almost 5% for a knowledge check. Each percent is 10 topics, so to get to the 45% I need to be at will be 110 topics. It's due at 11:59 tonight. Literally doesn't help anything, and who knows how my grade is going to be after this. Smh please get rid.
Aleks is by far the most frustrating learning program I have ever used. The directions don't make sense and by far the worst website to exist for math. If you make one little mistake it takes off a point making it even more frustrating. So teachers reading this considering Aleks for your class, I would recommend this if you want your students to hate you and make their learning process even more difficult.
This website is the WORST. It gives you impossible questions, takes away hard-earned points when you get one wrong, and doesn't allow you to do anything. I have to use this in my math class, and honestly, I don't know what my teacher was thinking when he introduced us to it.
ALEKS is one of the worst programs I've ever used. The amount of topics your suppose to be learning is unrealistic. The system isn't efficient and half of the students using it are barely retaining any knowledge. Instead of learning, we rush through the topics trying to get them in on time. There should be an extended due date past 11:59pm for each day for the students that have busy schedules and don't have time to sit down for 4 hours to complete fifteen topics every single week day. The knowledge checks do nothing but add extra time. I think it's ridiculous you have to complete the check before you can begin to work on your topic goal. We should have the option to complete the goal first and then do the check. ALEKS should be taken down and removed from all school systems. I absolutely despise it, along with every other student that uses it.
What I think people don't realize is how emotionally and physically demanding this website can be. I have spent several hours (8+) daily on this website and I seriously feel like its draining me. It's annoying and takes so long to use. I will never understand why this program is in use if it takes so much time.
ALEKS is probably the worst experience I've ever encountered it my entire adult life. The program seems like a good idea in theory, but in reality causes me countless loss of hours and sanity. It's a simple math software that requires you to get 2 or 3 questions correct in a row to pass a lesson. This doesn't seem like much, but once you consider the factor that missing a question, causes you to miss the current question, AND the question you previously answered CORRECTLY, it's very easy to get annoyed. To me, this makes no sense at all, who's brilliant idea was it to say, "Hey, how about if somebody get's a question wrong, lets not only take away the point for that question, lets take away the point from the previous question too!" Anybody who doesn't have the patience of God himself will fall victim to this site's evil trap. The only use for this is for lazy teachers and college professors that don't make their own work.
Cancer is a group of diseases often caused by aleks.com. The disease often contains abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread to other parts of the body. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss and a change in bowel movements. While these symptoms may indicate cancer, they may have other causes Over 100 types of cancers affect humans.
This app is NOT user friendly i will be doing my Aleks and i will press the exponent button and it doesn't work but i don't realize and i submit it and i have to start all over again. No one actually does it everyone just uses photo math and it does not help me learn. My Favorite weeks are when the teacher announces there is no Aleks like amen.
This is the most garbage math website. I have to do these Aleks topics for school, and I would rather fall off a cliff than do these. When you get a problem wrong, they don't explain in detail how you got it wrong or how to fix it, they basically just say you got this wrong and make you spend more time on one topic. If I am forced to do 8 Aleks topics a week by my school, I am easily going to be spending 1 to 2 hours a day doing these topics. I wish that Aleks didn't exist so I could spend my time doing more important things in life. If you are a teacher reading this, please don't make your students do Aleks or stop making them do Aleks topics. It is truly fresh hell to have to sit and do these every week.
I am a High School student and in my opinion, Aleks is the worst program that ever existed, even when aleks gives us the process of finding the answers it doesn't even tell you why you should either add or subtract the values, it just types it out and being done with
I would rather jump off a 500 story building headfirst and the impale myself with a pole than use this program. This program makes satan want to commit suicide. Its hell x500. I want to $#*!ing kill myself. Oh? You get a question wrong? Here is 30 minutes of free time to go $#*!ing kill yourself? Oh? You want to graduate? $#*! you. Heres an F for not completing 1000 topics and 100 knowledge checks in 1 week. $#*! Aleks. Aleks can rot in hell with Hitler and Satan.
The ALEKS platform was detested by every student in our class this summer. Explanations of material were superficial and often unclear. The system is balky, constantly dropping students trying to work on it. ALEKS knows this history, but seems to have done nothing substantive to correct it. Customer service varies greatly: from efficient and cheerful to incompetent and rude. ALEKS is a total nightmare for students and professors alike.
If you are assigned this your life will get so much worse, you saw the other reviews it's absolutely horrible. It rots your brain, makes you feel stupid. And you will get caught in a spiral trying to finish impossible topics because you need to meet a topic goal or finish a pie.
This is my third class I have used aleks for. My first math class was easy and I didn't mind aleks. The last two class, this software has been utter Sh! T. I am currently using the software for my trigonometry class in college. The software does not recognize that there are multiple ways of solving trigonometric identities and marks you wrong when you are correct. It is a complete waste of time. I've had to take this class twice, and the worst part is the f@(k! Ng aleks homework.
I guarantee anyone who gave aleks a good review took an extremely easy math course where you didn't have to MANUALLY enter points to plot a sinusoid graph because the function values were not easily imputable into the graph.
I'd suggest you either sell your soul to the devil, or to someone else to do your *******@mn aleks homework.
I just started using ALEKS recently in a remedial math course in college, and I can already tell my workload is about to be doubled. Our professor doesn't seem very qualified to teach, and he is putting so much emphasis on the pie and completing dozens of topics in a week, every week. 30, 40, 50, 60, even 70! I already have enough coursework coming my way from other classes, and now I'm expected to slave hours of my time to ALEKS and show my work in a notebook. Also to submit once every week. BULLCRAP! I am going to become a slave to my math class for the next several weeks, and likely do it again next semester! Someone kill this website already!
Poor customer service, engineers don't know how to do their job and the learning material itself is poorly worded, along with poor technical running of the system. It is inaccurate and make for a frustrating and counterintuitive learning environment
There are bugs in the programming. It does not recognize +1 as the same number as 1. There are times when I give the correct answer, the program counts it as wrong and then proceeds to give me the same answer I gave as the correct answer.
This is not a learning program, more of a review type program. They way it is taught Aleks expects you to do your own research and find help from else where. There are tutorial videos - lot of them - but they are just as confusing and narrow on their teaching as the instructions you have to read thru.
Finally the demonstration problems have flaws in them as well.
They explain that 1/2 + 1/2 = 1/4
This is just one of many major flaws I have found in this course. Save yourself the time and hassle.
When it comes to encouraging students to be successful this software has put the documents required to drop out in my hands. I know I'm smart and I know that Aleks has discouraged me in ending school. Don't recommend.
I haven't been able to finish one assignment on this POS site. Not because I'm lazy or didn't try, but because it is so tedious to use. I've never wanted to throw my laptop against a wall until I was forced to use this site.
I have multiple learning disabilities already, I sighed up for a in person class and this is what I got. This is not what I meant when I wanted a in person class. I am in college first year and this is supposed to be elementary algebra. Had to pay over 100 dollars along with the 400 class fee biggest waist of my money. The learning section makes absolutely no seance and neater do the explanations. My father who has a masters can not figure this crap out. The only way to pass is to cheat, I am not going to waist 500 bucks and fail due to this horrible program.
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
