It's really awful. Maybe I'm just getting old (I'm 32) but I simply prefer the old-school method of doing my homework with a physical textbook. I also don't like how ALEKS holds you prisoner if there's a section that you simply don't understand. You're not given the privilege to skip it in order to move forward with the next batch of homework. I think it's in my right for my homework grade to suffer (only a tad).

So... it's obviously not helpful for those that aren't so great at math and I think it's only a matter of time before students start boycotting to the point where administrations will have no choice but to ban it.

Aleks poisoned my water supply, burned my crops, and delivered a plague into my house. To anyone struggling with aleks, mathway.com is heaven sent.

For real i hate wasting $100 on this site every semester when i don't learn anything from it and i want to die every time i use it.

There is nothing more i hate than this website, im nearly done using it for school but after just one semester my anxiety surrounding it was so severe my mom made me go back into therapy.

Ive been out of therapy for over a year.

Literally every time i even think about working on it i have a breakdown, i would have a B in math at the least had aleks not existed, but since it does I have a C and it just keeps falling, even my teacher hates it but we have to do it since the school paid money for it.

If youre a teacher or parent and are considering subjecting your child to the torture that is this website, don't do it, it's actually child abuse.

The explanations give no insight on how the problems should actually be done and if there is its usually something with a bunch of extra work. Also as much as it's great to master something mastering 248 lessons isn't doable. Every week I end up doing countless hours of the same problems that I understand conceptually because I can't get 3+ correctly in a row. Then the knowledge checks take things away from my pie leaving me with even more work to redo. I get it I need to know how to do something but this isn't the way to learn. Even my chem professor questions some of the way alecks attempts to teach a lesson (yet we continue to use the program). All this program is causing me is stress and hatred towards my chem class. It's too much work in too little time on top of the rest of the things I have to get done. The program has helped me very little in comparison to how many times I've wanted to punch my computer. I don't recommend for anybody to use this.

What the title says. I can spend up to 6 hours and only get 20 topics completed, when my teacher expects me to get 53 done in two, while also doing my film editing class. There are 3-5 questions per topic, plus the amount of times it marks you wrong and you have to start all over. If I need to get 53 topics done, that's over 200 questions I have to answer, and I don't have that kind of time. I can't be expected to do math to something we haven't learned in class yet.

Plus, just now, I put in my answer and it marked it wrong. I did the problem the other possible way, and it marked it wrong. Turns out, it's telling me my first answer was correct. What. Kind. Of. BS. Is. That.

What is the worst thing to have people who struggle with math do? Spend hours staring at a computer screen. I have never been more frustrated in my life. The College I go to made me take this program as I placed extremely low in math. I have Discalculia and I need extra help trying to understand all these concepts. As I write this now, I have spent three hours trying to just get through their "test" that they give you every day. Going through it, I have had to Google more than half the formulas as I don't remember any of what I learned. I have spent upwards of six hours a day trying to complete this "pie" and it has only made me hate math more than I ever did before.

If you have the chance, don't waste your time with this program. It will only upset you more towards this subject. This program should be used for people who are already good at math. Online courses are miserable even when you understand the material.

Everyone is being so toxic about this, but I wouldn't recommend this at all. It takes forever to just complete four percent of the pie! It's very time consuming and forces you to do more problems in order to pass the topic, rather than explaining it and letting you slide.

Honestly, its the worst website ever invented to use upon college students or any student in general. I never was bad at math but aleks just makes you feel like you're the most dumbest thing ever. If you make the simplest mistake, it doesn't care it will count it as wrong and not tell your mistake. It also has unexpected topics (homework) measurements, 102 topics x 3 per topic is 306 topics in total depending on the amount of topics you have to do, that is so unreasonable for a college student. Us students have other classes, work and it only gives you a week of work to do. You dont learn half the stuff or you forget half the stuff. Plus the time it gives in quizzes and test is unreasonable. Stupidest website ever, who ever invented this garbage, is an F****** A-hole.

Aleks is by far the worst ever math learning site I have ever used. I used it in a 7th Grade class for an entire year, and did not learn anything whatsoever. It didn't teach me, well to be honest, the school didn't even have qualified teachers. So I didn't expect much. Overall an absolute dog $(*5 program to learn math from. If you need help with math just go to Khan Academy, it's free and it helps..

Aleks doesn't help at all and I don't learn anything I just wanted to complete it and get it over with. Most of the time I don't even complete it within the time frame it's given to us. The knowledge checks is a joke and it just gives us more work. Several times I have 12 topics to complete it and I only have 2 days to complete it. How can anyone even manage that. I just don't understand why professors use this program and praise it saying it's the best program to learn chemistry. Hundreds of students doesn't find this helpful. There were so many times when I get 2 questions right in a row and when the next question was wrong I had to start all over again and it'll just take an hr to complete that topic. Had so many mental breakdown because of this awful program.

In algebra b we all have to use this website every chapter. The amount of problems range from 200-80 within each chapter. Not only that, but the problems don't go by very quickly, even if you know the subject. The deadline is extremely difficult to reach. Also, the explanations generated by the website do not help whatsoever. My final point is the fact that you can get an answer correct and it will say it is incorrect. Then it will show the correct answer, and guess what? It shows the answer you had before! I have wasted so much time on this website, and I have to continue to use it, thanks Algebra class. I would much rather listen to the teacher's lecture and do the homework given than use this website. All I have to say is for anyone who wants to improve on math, this is not the website to use.

Horrendous service, incredibly slow and boring to use. One mistyped number adds half an hour to your homework. The knowledge checks are the most infuriating thing on the planet, and unless your final is on this "service" you will be re learning half the stuff in a different way anyway. If your class has this - drop it.

My teacher makes me do this crap. I hate it and it makes you lower your self esteem and induces stress. When i think of aleks, i put some soap in my mouth. It also reminds me to take out the trash. This damn website should be taken down.
