I travel a lot for my work. Air Canada lost my bag between Montreal and Winnipeg. I spoke to them at lost luggage in Winnipeg and the person told me that my luggage would be at Red Lake airport the next day. I called the airport the next day and it wasn't there. I called Air Canada three days in a row and they kept telling me the same lie. I got a call from the wrong airport telling me my luggage was there. Called Air Canada and they were not helpful at all. Finally, getting fed up, I called the airport where the luggage was at and arranged for them to fly it to the Red Lake airport. No thanks to Air Canada for anything. Actually I'm in Montreal Air Canada plane right now that they turned back because two of their employees needed a ride to Halifax. Air Canada sucks big time. Wishe we had more options for flights. I'm going to be about an hour late because of Air Canada turning back their plane to pick up their employees. Think they would have done that if it was you or I? Don't think so.
There were four of the s flying together and all luggage was received but me piece. After hours n hold, finally got to speak to a customer service rep who only had a written scriotbn front of them and could not deviate from that script. Finally, they said that they were in a call center in India and could not really help. They just take the information and Air Canada May respond within 45 days. We took a trip overseas and was moving hotels every two or three days. The airline has never called us back or responded. We did learn that the luggage was found then lost. Luggage tags on the outside with address, phone number and email. Also, special fabric on the handiest. A copy of the passport is inside the luggage. No response yet and no luggage. It has been almost two weeks. I will never fly Air Canada. Terrible service and absolutely no customer service. We had been planning this trip for almost a year and to be treated like this is awful'. Please read reviews and I suggest flying other airlines and flying Air Canada as a last resort! Heart breaking and no one at Air Canada that can help. I wasted my money and it almost ruined our trip. We had to buy everything again the first couple of days and did not enjoy the first part of our trip! Aur Cabada is the WORST airline I have ever flown with and would not recommend them.
Thank you!
Such great service! Used them three times over the past few years and they are so nice and organized. Great flight with roomy seats
Air Canada is consistently unreliable - 2 flights from Toronto YYZ to Philadelphia, PA Aug 2021 and Jun 2022 cancelled and delayed. Not a good experience at all.
They forced us to check our carry on with a sby boarding pass.
Very aggressive the agent at the gate
Unbelievably terrible, arrogant. Not even simple empathy for customers...
Front line staff is reasonable and okay... (At least on the face of talking)...
But the corporate culture is simply unbelievable... Just rob the customers of their money and soul...
How on earth does a national carrier of a first world country and Toronto Stock Exchange listed company can have a such a terrible corporate culture... Where is the social responsibility of a blue chip company...
We Canadians deserve better than this crap... My flight to Atlanta was first cancelled, second flight lack of seats and kicked out and third flight is a rattling old plane (prisoners get transferred in better flights)... Flight from hell...
My return flight from Atlanta to Toronto was Delta... Man... Delta was a flight from heaven...
The worst gut wrenching punch was that. Receiving an email from Air Canada for my claim for compensation and hotel bill for overnight at Pearson is that 'Under the Canadian government guidelines you are not entitled to receive any compensation from us.! Oh really Air Canada...
'As a good will offering $ 100/= credit for next booking'... You got to be kidding... Fly Air Canada again... I should be insane... Ask your CEO to shovel that $ 100/= where he wants...
Side Note: Why we average Canadians have to take this type of crap always... As the same old saying goes... We are only 38 Million people and market share is not big enough and we should protect our industries from big companies in USA...
See Air Canada and Delta Air lines difference...
How was Zellers Canada stores and Walmart Canada stores...
How is Tim Horton toilets and MacDonald Canada toilets...
Wanna give more examples...
I've been reading the reviews, and the complaints you see are very much the same issues that could arise with ANY airline, anywhere.
No leg room, bad service, overbooked, late, delay etc etc are issues that anyone who travels a lot has encountered and they are not just unique to Air Canada.
Admittedly, I am a bit biased. I am a Super Elite 1,000,000 mile member with Air Canada. Yes I get perks because of that, but there were many years of non status flying with them I had to do before I got to this status. Even so, I still encounter some of the aforementioned issues. I just returned from St. Lucia on a Rouge flight. Rouge tends to have less legroom than others and the seats are not very comfortable, but I knew that going in. The staff was wonderful though. I recently had delay after delay when trying to get out of Toronto to Heathrow etc. The more you travel, the less affected you become by the issues that drive infrequent travelers nuts. Don't get me wrong... I get that it is very frustrating. But when you are a very frequent traveler, you learn that stuff happens, no matter where you are and you have to go with the flow. Easier said than done, I know. But if you are expecting to jump on a plane and have all the comforts of home and have everything go 100% smooth all the time and no issues, then you're better off taking a train.
I've traveled on many different airlines over the years, and I really can't think of one that I would not fly on again. I'm always very happy to see an Air Canada plane when I've been over seas for an extended trip. I've always been treated well, have (knock on wood) only had my luggage lost ONCE in over 25 years of frequent flying with Air Canada, and have the utmost respect for all on flight staff.
I'm proud to be an AIr Canada customer and hope to continue doing so for many years to come.
Just arrived in Rome where both meals served nobody was able to eat it
Very bad dinner and a frozen breakfast
But solid frozen
Rude and incompetent crew, unorganized and very cheap service, most time with delay and lack of respect to customers
My daughter travelled from Lima to Montreal on flight 1943 on December 15th with her husband and two children. And she told me at the airport it was the worst flight in her life -and she travelled a lot.
Reasons:
-No room for legs
-No entertainment, no screens on the
Plane. You have to download an app to
Your device but if you do not carry one
Obviously you will not be able to access
Anything.
- Nothing but water on board. No coke
No juice, nothing
- Only one kind of breakfast totally
Unhealthy Scrambled eggs with
Sausages and potatoes.My
Daughter could not give that food to
Her child and there was nothing to give
Her not even a piece of bread or a
Cracker and that after the child's last
Meal was 12 hours before.
-And the most repulsive and unhealthy
Thing: the restroom floor was full of
Used toilet paper. Apparently the container to drop it was not working and there was no crew to take care of it. And by the way the crew was nowhere to be seen during the night at their usual place in the back of the airplane.
My advice STOP BEING ABUSED. DO NOT FLY AIR CANADA LIMA MONTREAL
We have just used Air Canada for the very first time and I have to say this will be the last time. Here's our story:
We arrived at Heathrow 3 hours early for our flight. The trouble is Air Canada had 2 flights leaving (one for Toronto and another for Montreal) within 5 minutes of each other! Needless to say this causes heavy strain on their checking in process. We duly waited in the queue and we were pleased to see that a member of their staff was checking all the paperwork before we reached the check-in desk. Everything was checked for our party of 6,3 adults and 3 children and we were given a green ticket so were we reassured that everything was in order. When we reached the check-in desk we were horrified to be told that we needed a Canadian ETA visa ever though we were only transiting through Canada and were never going to leave the airport. We were asked to step aside and fill in the visas online as quickly as possible and then everything would be ok. We did this and after around 5-10 minutes everything was in order. We then went back to the same check-in desk only to be told that checking had closed and we wouldn't be able to board the plane!
As you can imagine we were completely in shock. This was a long planned holiday to Orlando for a Disney experience with our children. We then had to rearrange our flights for 2 days later effectively reducing our holiday by 2 days. We complained to all the staff and their attitude was that because we are ultimately responsible for all our documentation that they were not prepared to offer any form of compensation, not even an apology!
To add insult to injury when I formally complained after getting back from out trip we were then told that they couldn't deal with our "baggage claim" and would not discuss it any further.
Air Canada are a complete joke! Incidentally this was not an isolated incident. Both days we queued for the check-in we saw MANY travellers in exactly the same predicament. This is an endemic problem with the Air Canada staff training and they don't seem to care anything about the stress and inconvenience to their customers. Avoid this airline at all costs!
We are in the plane now for one hour as the motor don't start they call a power pack to start the engin
Dont respect the costumer
I lost my walker i clade the company more time but dont get any answer
My device dont used this company
NEVER FLY CANADA AIR. My family and I vacationed in Italy and had flights booked home (New Jersey) for Sunday July 2nd. One flight (rome to Canada 9hr flight) and a connecting flight (Canada to Newark 1 and a half hr flight). We finished our first flight that was 9hr long and as we got off we were herded to a line just for connecting flights, then another line for security, and then another line for customs. We were worried we would not make our flight to Newark but then the flight got delayed by an hour and was scheduled to takeoff at 8pm. We got to our gate at 7pm and not one announcement was made. One lady asked if we were boarding soon and they said yes but time just kept going by still with no updates/announcements. Finally at 8:45pm they announce our flight has been cancelled due to bad weather, which was not true it was because they had no crew/pilot. Of course we ask what are we suppose to do we are 8hr away from home. They tell us we can book a hotel nearby. Of course they said there are no vouchers for hotel rooms, rent a car, taxis, trains, nothing it all has to come out of our pockets. Our next question is when is our next flight, their response Tuesday July 4th (2 days from Sunday). The flight they rebooked us for was not even in the same airport. They also said everyone must grab their luggage and exit the airport, so they kicked us out and left us with nowhere to go. We spent 1,000 just on hotels and stranded in Canada for 2 days. I am appalled they would treat their customers like this and scam us out of our money. They are con artists. NEVER FLY WITH THEM WORST AIRLINE EVER!
Answer: It's real company but the service the food Specially when you pay the big moneys for business class Is a disaster and I will not use them and not recommend to use them
