4 weeks ago I was charged 445 euros by Airbnb out of nowhere, without making ANY reservations or bookings. Even though I contacted them immediately (and allow me to say that it is almost impossible to contact them directly) it took them a week to respond. Finally, I was refunded my money only 3 weeks after and received NO EXPLANATION for why this has happened and how. Thank God I got the money back though.
I am very very disappointed, it is not worth trusting this company and their customer service is extremely poor and slow.

Canceled a trip 3 months in advance and due to their "strict" refund policy option they give the host, I only recieved a $17 refund on a $175 deposit. What a horrible policy and a horrible host. I'll never use Airbnb again. I'd rather deal with a real company

Lively and efficient customer service even in the early hours of the night. When we arrived at our apartment at 2AM without a key under the mat as promised, we placed a call to Airbnb. After confirming who we were, they were able to provide us with the host's phone number so that we could call and try to get the issue resolved. We had to stay in our rental car for a few hours, but with Airbnb's consist effort, we were able to get ahold of the host. Airbnb noted the case and followed up with us throughout the issue. The even followed up and apologized the next day. Great customer service!

Scammers

You will be scammed if you use them. They do nothing to help you and furthermore they do not want to be in contact with any customer and will do anything to not have to talk to you. Seems like everybody has to wait 30 minutes for someone to answer the phone, which seems very much like a pattern to me.

Dont use them.

I am very unhappy with the fact that Airbnb allows their hosts to cancel at 9pm the night before our reservation. I made our reservation 2 weeks in advance at a North Carolina beach for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in. Our host cancelled the night before leaving us struggling to find another place to stay because Airbnb ALSO couldn't find another host anywhere in the area to move our reservation to. It is already hard enough to get reservations at the beach for a wedding during the middle of the summer (this was the weekend of July 12th) but to be cancelled on and having to spend twice as much was very upsetting and uncalled for. I had no choice and my kids ended up being miserable too because the hotel was almost an hour away from the beach and where the wedding location was. Very unhappy and will never use again.

I usually love Airbnb for the many different types of spaces and rooms they offer. So when deciding to go to Chicago it wasn't hard to decide who I'd be booking with! Unfortunately I should've bought twice, my booking was cancelled and I didn't find out until the day of travel. I went to rebook and my verification failed and booking was cancelled though I was verified from previous bookings. I outreaches and spoke with someone who said it would be released in 5-15 days but I'd still have to rebook a new room. I ended up paying 420 dollars to the company. Just to make sure I had a place to rest my head. I received no email confirmations for the booking or refund claim. I realized the email address was wrong and reached out to let them know. I spoke to 4 different people in 5 days and no one was able to help or confirm my refund.

For the company to be so big and all over the world I am very disappointed in how all god has been handled

POOR QUALITY
February 2, 2022

Made my first reservation with airbnb that was initially accepted. An hour after it was accepted I received an notification thst reservation was canceled and my app access was locked. Airbnb already took my money and I had to wait 3 to 4 days to get my money back. Placing me in a position where even if I wanted to male another reservation I couldn't. Airbnb did provide any explanation nor offer any assistance from customer service over the phone. This is a very poor and unprofessional way to handle potential new customers

I made a reservation through Airbnb on December 24th and paid $2,653.94 ( Address 16 Durham street. Kingston) for one month. I was told it was refundable if I cancel before March 4th. I cancelled on February 23rd 2021, before the mentioned date due to Covid as my child was supposed to accompany with me to Kingston. It is very unsafe for us to travel so we decided to cancel the trip. After I cancel the trip, instead of receiving a refund they charged me again for $758.91. So in total they charged my credit card for $3,412.85 because I cancelled due to a PANDEMIC. After a run around between the Airbnb and the host, I am told that I do not receive a refund. Three is a Pandemic doing on and instead of helping their clients, they are robbing them.

Recent outage costs $ for Airbnb and hosts. Why does Airbnb use Amazon Cloud as it's only server, what happened, why was there a lack of communication from Airbnb? Do you know Airbnb uses First Call Resolution Call Center for it's customer service? Did you know Airbnb did not tell First Call why it was having issues therefore the agents could not confidently give the customers a time frame or tell customers a good reason for the outage other than there is system maintenance?

There customer service is terrible, Monroe Labouisse is a direct correlation of the undertrained children running the site. This company is going to hurt very soon when a very interesting article will be appearing.

Don't do it!
November 2, 2018

Not worth the bother or the money. I stayed in Copenhagen and was not at all satisfied with my room. I stayed in a basement where I couldn't look the front door. The owner was not helpful at all, actually he was slightly hostile. And of course I didn't get some of the money back that I have paid. When I came home I was going to write at scathing review of this place but oh no. I had two weeks to do it they said but after a few days it was too late. I contacted Airbnb about the review/deadline but that was like talking to a wall. It's extremly hard to get any response and when they finally answer they are of no help at all. Stay at a decent hotel or don't go at all is my suggestion.

I rented a place at 10:40 at night, only to discover on the confirmation there was no parking which I need. Also - my fault for not reading more closely prior to booking - there was no coffee maker, internet, air conditioning. I canceled at 4 am the next morning. The reservation was for a future date - 3 1/2 months out.

My issue is that the reservation was on the books 6 hours for future date of 3 1/2 months but they kept 1/2 of the entire reservation money. Contacted Airbnb and they support the host in this thievery.

If they will steal from you in that way, I hate to think in what else they will do.

Avoid... needed adequate parking... was told he had adequate parking... Alas there was not adequate parking. I was duped and they basically stole 138 bucks because I could not stay where I would have to request to come and go as I pleased. I would have to ask someone to jocky their vehicles around just to park. What a nightmare. Ripped off again... Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid

AIRBNB SUCKS
April 1, 2016

I listed my home with you and the listing was wrong, no way to take it off your site or change, no way to talk to anyone unless you want to spend three days looking for a number than wait an hour on the phone which hangs up on you. I got millions of texts that I could not stop. GET OFF MY BACK!

Visit Portland OR, Terrible service, First Time and last time
=================================
First time try this, the huge AC compressor attached to the bedroom, and AC does not stop full night and outside temperature is only 64F at night;
Message host to tell situation, she could not stop AC, the AC noise level is 70 db above, room freezing, the cold air from ceiling vent hiss towards beds make things even worse. Cellphone no signal without knowing before checked in, need to work a week here.
Unbearable noise roars whole night, can not sleep, have to request to cancel rest and escape rest. I am sure AirBnB agent knew this, still rent this out. She does not care about people, simply make big effort to steal as much as money from me, charged me 3 days fee for 10 hour stay regardless the room is not suitable for sleep and live.
What a shame!
First time AirBnB, last AirBnB, a scam, looter company.

Airbnb is a very incomprehensible website that makes it very difficult for you to change or cancel dates and track the money you've paid.

I made a long-term reservation for 62 nights and before departure I got a severe accident and had to cancel the trip. I couldn't somehow enter the webpage so I contacted the host that seemed so nice before to cancel the reservation. It was 5 days before departure. But the host never responded and because of my health condition I couldn't follow-up until today. I realised the cancellation policy is to pay 1 month + extra a lot of money for I don't know what.
I feel ripped off. I understand paying cancellation is normal but for 1 month?

I just feel the whole website is to confuse you and your booking. I really had a terrible experience with this website and will never use it because it is obviously not users-friendly!

First it took two day to book a placed because my camera couldn't take a clear enough picture. They said it could be done another way, but wouldn't tell me how. Called them, not helpful at all. Then the cherry on top, they charged me three times. After many, many phone calls the outcome, they'll get it back to me whenever. Now I have a maxed out card and automatic charges that come out month being denied. Do they care nope. Does the bnb stand for Beavis n Butthead?

Lied about refund
May 14, 2020

I had to cancel our family reunion this summer due to Covid 19. I was advised that I would receive a full refund due to my extenuating circumstances.
I only received a partial refund and now nobody will return my calls or respond to my eamail requests. I will never book or recommend Airbnb.
