After booking a hotel, completing the credit card fraud prevention steps and receiving the booking confirmation, Agoda unilaterally cancelled the booking whilst we were traveling internationally therefore leaving us without accommodation on arrival at destination.
No explanation or apology was provided.
Based on our experience, we suggest that any international travelers use extreme caution when using this booking service as what might seem as a competitively priced offer ends up much more expensive and time consuming after being let down.
Because of the outbreak we want to cancel or at least defer our reservation to a much later time in the year. Agoda told us because I didn't purchase the cancellation insurance they can't do anything. It's disgusting that in times like these they're not flexible. We were really looking forward to this trip but how can we travel when flights are being grounded?! To make matters worse, they have no toll free number for North Americans to call their call centre. I will never use them again. Booking with Agoda is like playing Russian roulette.
Worst travel booking site. Booked a lodging for mid June, 2018. They pulled a "bait & switch" tactic on us less than 24 hours before checking in. Changed our original unit to one much farther away from Tokyo and 1/2 of the original size. Ignore our email with complaint and protest... Shame!
Please stay away from this company!
In 24 hrs I lost $700 in bad flight reservation and hotel stays. This site will not refund you for cancellation or rebooking the correct dates. The airlines finally changed my booking for an additional $100 plus baggage fees that were already paid for. Save yourself a lot of headaches and use another site. Pics are from the room we reserved. Agoda says too bad so sad.
Living in outback NSW my family has to be pretty organised with arranging holidays. But we don't often have the cash on the bank right when you find a great deal. Agoda has been a godsend for their Book Now/ Pay later deals. No more stress!
Agoda has always been great and responsive when traveling to foreign countries and hotels on their list are wonderful but one must do home work about your hotel requirements and comforts that you wish for yourself. Take care at all times.

They charged me twice for one room. They have been totally unresponsive, and there is no way to contact a human being to get my money back. I will be contacting law enforcement shortly. Stay away from this grossly negligent company.
This site is ver easy to use unlike some other sites. You also receive a confirmation by text message which is so much quicker than waiting for an email especially if you are not using your data and only slow hotel wifi
Extremely EZ booking process that saved me a TON of money, while still staying in good quality lodging. My brother has used this organization to book top flight hotels at virtually negligible cost overseas. I look forward to seeing this for myself soon and will report back.

Almost every hotel or hostel I've stayed at whilst travelling through Asia has been found off Agoda. They have an excellent range, often unbeatable prices, reliable reviews and a very user friendly website and booking procedure.
Agoda has cancelled my booking twice now for no reasons. Their customer service is also incompetent and non existent. They would give me bull$#*! reason mentioning credit card this and that. I'd say they are not letting bookings go thru if the rooms were sold at a higher price.

I have used agoda on many trips through SE Asia and whenever there was a problem or change in booking they were able to resolve or correct within hours, with the exception of only once. Highly recommend,
Just to note that Agoda.com has pulled the plug on its prominently advertised "rewards" bonus program for new customers as of April 1st 2014. That info can only be found deep within the FAQ, which in my books is deception. Unfortunately Booking.com has the same owners...
It's so easy and intuitive to use I was easily browsing accommodation in seconds. They also have very competitive rates and affordable charges. I will certainly choose this business over the competition.
Check direct rates before you book here, they're not at all competitive is what we found out too late, and we've arrived to find we've been overcharged for lesser rooms and amenities by going through Agoda - feel ripped off. We complained and they offered only to refund the current difference in price for a 2-night stay booking direct, despite the fact we are here longer, but the "customer satisfaction team" seems not to care about customer happiness at all, very spiky and stern to deal with and refused to take my complaint any further and talked down to me. Really awful customer service! Will be avoiding in the future.
As a regular booker of accommodation for business I can say with some authority that on my first try with Agoda I got a better rate than the other sites I normally use and to top that off it was simple & easy. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank!
Horrible customer service and liars!
Booked a premium type accommodation through agoda, came to hotel, was give a much cheaper room without any price adjustment or refund. Also got hurt on the property, hotel refused to provide medical care. Two people have scars as a result of hotel's negligence. Submitted a dispute with agoda based on these 2 issues, never heard back until i had to submit a dispute through my credit company. They offered 1/4 of the money I paid back which is barely the difference between the room types that i paid for and received. Notoriously difficult to get a hold of, never respond to emails, unless money is on the line for them. Do yourself a favor and book through real reputable sites like orbits, trip advisor etc. don't deal with these crooks to save a few bucks.
This site is very easy to use. Everything that you need to know about places to visit and stay at is there. The deals offered are amazing. My personal experience has been most joyful. I have already enjoyed a couple of vacations through Agoda and have booked hotels in U. K.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
