Agoda provides great and accurate information for the hotels throughout the whole world. Through reviews from other travelers about hotels we are looking at, it helps in decision making. On top of that, as Agoda member we can enjoy special insider rate! That's my favorite!
Always had good service and help from this company.
However the last time i used them they passed my business to booking.com, who after being paid obviously did not want anything to do with changes, instead telling me to directly contact the hotel i was staying at, great customer service not!
Will still use agoda but they have tarnished what was a spotless reputation.
We booked a hotel through Agoda. The hotel name has been given as "OYO ******* Shillong Cantonment". We reached the site at Shillong, but there was no one to meet us or an office. It is an apartment. Through a person staying there we got contact number of OYO. When we contacted them, they informed us that don't have information of our booking with them. After spending more than an hour there, we hunted another premises with the help of our cab driver and spent our holidays in Shillong. I am unable to get refund of my advance of Rs. 5450. 52 paid through my Citi Bank credit card. But the Agoda website has no provision to file a complaint to ask for refund.

This booking through Agoda has caused great harassment.
I've used Agoda for the past five years to book various hotel stays in different places, love the prices, can't get anything cheaper from what I've seen. No matter where I search, Agoda always has a better price!
Agoda.com never fails me to provide an easy, secure & quick hotel booking service.
However, the exclusion of 21% taxes & fees from the shown rate should be always put in your mind before making the decision to book, as it may give false impression on the first sight, especially when you book multiple nights for multiple rooms.
Booked hotel (~month ahead of journey), paid money, got booking confirmation. After a week or so decided to call hotel to check booking status (gut feeling!), hotel didn't confirm booking because no rooms were available for my period of stay (glad I checked it before arrival). Support replied that "booking you have is confirmed with one of our Travel partners who sold their rooms on our Agoda website" (why the. Should I care about those partners, to whom I didn't pay a cent?!). So after 3 working days of chatting with support and "trying to contact partner" I insisted on refund and it was done (at least this worked as intended). So, instead of booking at good price I wasted money on credit card's exchange rate, missed some interesting hotels that got sold out during this story and had to pay more than initial price for new booking because prices went up since initial booking.
Every hotel has things you can complain about including S-Box... but I think this is one of the best values anywhere in the world. Rooms are probably the smallest you've ever seen unless you've stayed in a capsule hotel in Japan. However the architect is a genius... very very efficient... I'm always surprised at hotels that advertise they have the biggest rooms. Who wants to be in the room. Hey Hey it is Bangkok... you should be out hustling business... out exploring... out eating... out drinking... in a temple praying... or meeting a new friend. You should not be hanging out in the room. My room had oversized Samsung tv that worked better than most in hotel rooms... internet actually worked and with decent speeds. Breakfast was a step up from a continental... heavy on the pastry and bread side... nicely done, but I would prefer more fruit. Cool design... friendly staff... awesome location.
Agoda transactions are posted in foreign currency (FX) which will attract extra card charges. Beware. These are never told at the time of booking.
I ended up paying extra charges even for domestic transaction.
Agoda customer services is super responsive and helpful till booking but once the sale is done, their responses are very curt and dismissive. They are not keen to address concerns and would happily blame other parties (hotels, card cos.) as culprits.
Very disappointing service.
I've booked all my hotels with Agoda. I personally haven't encountered other deals that offer better rates than they do. Agoda's online booking and feedback systems are so user friendly. I'm happy to write this review as a small way to give back from all the efficiency and convenience I've been benefitting from Agoda.
Agoda is always the most convenient site for booking hotels. I've used several online sites, including Booking.com, Priceline, Hostelworld... I have a few. Agoda always gives me the best prices, and they are surprisingly easy to use!
Booked a hotel through Agoda who took my card details and did zero amount transaction.
While checking in, hotel collected room charges from me as they had not received any money.
After few days, on receipt of bank statement, I noticed that amount equal to room rent was debited to my account for Agoda.
Now hotel refuses to refund amount.
Agoda does not respond to emails neither their phones work.
I understand, they don't have any office in India or any customer support contacts. It has ended in paying double.
I am left helpless.
I've had no problems with booking rooms at hotels. But booking a flight is totally different. I booked a flight for 2 from IST to Kiev and was rerouted through Kayak and some chump company called travelgenio... who charged me but never sent e-tickets or any confirmation number
Do not use this company, they have gone downhill very fast, their marketing is false, room sizes incorrect, views from room incorrect, even types of rooms, i. E. pictures and descriptions do not match, either very deceitful or totally incompetent.
Used them for years but have stopped using them due to all of the above. See attached pool view picture

They have changed hands now for the worse. STAY AWAY
Terrible third party booking agency, very tricky, we will never use them again. Their listing price is low, but there are hidden fees you don't realize until you are booked. Customer service is a joke, if you try to cancel your booking, they will play run-around with you and you will NOT be able to get any refund. We learned our lesson, it is much cheaper to book directly with hotel than going through Agoda, plus saving lots of aggravation!
First, it is not a 4 star hotel. It is dirty, with an incredible smell in the hallway and elevator. Room had no slippers to go to the bathroom, where was no toilet paper. I asked for a transfer from the airport, like mentioned on the site, only never received an answer. Staff was friendly, but not able to solve the issues. Airco on the ceiling above your bed, blowing into your face the whole night., Fridge not working, no safe.
The hotel agreed with my complaints, only AGODA says that early checkout is no option, so I need to pay the other 8 nights as well. Agoda chat function does not work anymore when the booking is made and paid..
I have used Agoda exclusively since 2008, but recently the service has been appalling. My last 3 bookings in a row have all had problems and the customer service and resolutions provided by Agoda are just terrible. Each time you call, the hold time exceeds 1 hour and the agents just don't grasp or understand the situation.
Their messages are 98% of the time scripted replies which means you are going around in a constant loop and not addressing the problem.
1 month later, my complaint is still not resolved.
Very frustrating company to deal with, when things go wrong.
They are cheap for a reason!
This is an unreliable application. No facility to connect with the customer care team if any issue faces other than automated replies. ******* Booking confirmation received money deducted from my account and after that booking was cancelled without any reason. When contacted the property, rude behaviour and asked me to contact the application provider which was impossible as mentioned earlier.
I like Agoda and recommends them to my family and friends for our / their accommodation needs because we get the best deals online. It's also very efficient, convenient and easy. One thing I like about them is the flexibility. You can always pay at a later time and will not cancel your bookings unlike other websites.
This service is awful. Unresponsive. The place I was booked into was horrible. The owners didn't speak English. They made no attempt to communicate or answers questions. We left without staying there. When I reached out to Agoda for a refund, all I got was a superficial response saying they are reaching out to the owners of the establishment. An answer will be provided in 24-48 hours. That was weeks ago. I am still waiting. They are not responding to follow up emails from me. Never use them. The worst.
I booked a Air ticket for Vietnam. After full payment, it states that to confirm it will take another 24 hours. What an idiotic response. No helpline, no call centre, no customer care except BOT over site. Ridiculous.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
