Even though they have a very efficient booking system, what happens after is left to chance. If a problem arises there is absolutely no way to contact them to get your money back or to fix things. 1) I got scammed by a bait and switch. 2) I can't use agoda dollars. 3) I can't fix bookings 4) i can't claim their price match.
This company is running the biggest legal scam of the century. They take your money and will not honour any of their policies.
In December 2021 I booked a room at the Sofitel Hotel by terminal five at Heathrow.
Unfortunately I booked the date wrong by one day.
My husband and I wanted to stay the night before our very early morning flight because I am disabled and we wanted to make life a bit easier.
I tried my best to change the date but they would not allow it – I contacted the hotel direct and they said they had Availability but could not do anything without the permission from Agoda / getaroom.com…
After many exchanges of emails and phone calls the bottom line was they were not going to change the date by just one day for me.

Big fraud booking website... Dont book anything from agoda, i have booked hotels from this website but when i reached hotel there no body there... And agoda help line is worst no body there to help customers. Simply they taken my money and cheated.
I booked flights to NZ through Agoda and it has been the worst experience ever. I was impressed with the $540 return airfare and added insurance as well ($40 something) but by the time I got to checkout, the cost was $685.54! I booked the tickets anyway but I really wish I hadn't now.
I never received any information about the insurance that I purchased.
NZ closed their border to Australians so I immediately wanted a refund. OMG the drama! I paid Agoda so assumed the refund would come from them but apparently they have to ask Air NZ to refund me but they cannot guarrantee that I will receive anything at all let alone the full amount and that it will take 3-6 months. Air NZ will not help me, they said I booked through Agoda so it's up to them to refund me. I purchased travel insurance and would like to read the policy to see where I stand but Agoda refuse to send me the policy!
My flight to NZ has been cancelled but my flight oput of NZ is still valid. If I can't get into NZ there is no reason to get out of NZ. How hard is that for Agoda to understand?
I have just received an email saying that the airline has rescheduled my flight and that Agoda have accepted the offer in my behalf. Agoda never checked with me if the new flight suited me, they just accepted it anyway! I looged into my Agoda account to view the changed and their website is saying that I have no booking whatsoever!
If they have not refunded me $685.54 within 7 days, I am going to lodge a complaint with ACCC because this company is unhelpful, they refuse to provide people with a copy of the insurance policy and I have looked online and cannot even find a phone number for them.
Save yourself the trouble and avoid Agoda. The booking process is easy but the refund process is time consuming and painful.
Booked a hotel through agoda but they didn't send the payment to the hotel although charged my credit card. I had to wait 3 hours while calling the agoda and waiting on the phone to solve the issue and could check in the hotel room.
I do not recommend the agoda to anyone for booking anything.

I booked a hotel in Zakythos Greece this past summer. Everything about this booking through AGODA said is was guaranteed. Literally, 25 minutes after I booked the Hotel, I received a message directly from the hotel my reservation was no longer guaranteed and they were good full. Now, Agoda refused to refund the money for a bogus booking they say is guaranteed. Save yourself some aggravation, DO NOT BOOK with this shady outfit. Tried to cancel a hotel stay due to Covid19 surge. It is impossible to get an actual person on the line. The app puts you in infinite circular loops, the phone line gets you in bot loops as well and hangs up on you promptly whenever you reach a point where the system is no longer interested in answering your questions. If you are 100% certain you are going on a trip and want the cheapest of prices with zero service, use this rubbish, otherwise stay well clear of it. It's not worth the aggravation.
1. The quoted prices were increased magically after I booked. 2. When I tried to cancel, one room would cancel and the second room booked on the same booking would not cancel. 3. There is no way to actually contact anyone there, only a robot chat feature with preprogrammed options. Now I am forced to give up a $160 charge, or book the other two rooms I need for our party. Pics are proof that we were charged more after booking than agreed to at booking.

I Purchased a 1 night stay for a hotel. Didn't end up using it. Tried to get a refund through customer service and got nowhere. Send Email with my booking number said they would send refund. Week has gone by and nothing has been returned. Cant talk to anyone no-one returns my phone calls. After looking at my Reciept Says There are no refunds. Really You Can Just keep People's money and if they have a issue and cant go to their booking you just keep my money, What a Rip Off! Who would do that?

Booked a trip to the cove in the Bahamas on 10-19-21. Trip was from 11-1 to 11-5. Said when booked free cancellation until 10-28. Cancelled on 10-27 & received a cancellation confirmation. On 11-15 I called & asked about my refund & was told it takes 30 days. Called back on 12-1 & they said they emailed their supplier to give us a refund. Not sure what that means as I booked & was charged by Agoda. I called Amex & disputed & will not have to pay but wouldn't use or recommend Agoda to anyone.
Rent a room in Austin TX. Supposed to pay online 60.00. All it says i have to pay. Then get to the hotel and guess what... a deposit then has to be paid etc. Never again. Ever. Go to Priceline or oyo. Never pay extra ever.
I have got a really bad experience with booking a preferred Agoda Hotel which I prepaid. When I arrived at the hotel the owner told me he did not see anything and he never gets paid from Agoda. So he told me I could get a room but I had to pay again and even twice as much as the Agoda rate. I refused, he then offered me a ‘free room' in a different cheap Guesthouse which was also his, but I had to write a letter to Agoda I got a room. The owner was very intimidating and hostile. I found myself another hotel. When I reported this at Agoda they told me I won't get money back because I annulated. I did not annulate, the owner scammed me. I found a lot of reviews on Google from people who experienced the same. The hotel is scamming tourist for years, I reported this to Agoda and asked why they still have this hotel on there site and even as preferred supplier. I then get an offer for a refund of 50%. I refused, they then offered arround 75% in Agoda cash. I refused, now they are still investigate it but I now got an email they do not refund anything. So it starts all over again. It even looked like they played the game together with the hotel owner. Shame on you Agoda, can not imagine Booking Holdings is behind this
We have booking 3 nights hotels from Agoda online booking. It asked to pay 2 days before the booking and we paid. But it charged again on the day we were checked out. The worst thing is there are no contact number you can call them directly. Email is not responding as well. So I need to call the hotel to ask for their partner phone number. Finally, can you believe that they need 15-30 days to refund the double charged amount into your account. Unbelievable. Not even try to bother them again….
I have been booking hotel via online for many years and I've never experienced what Agoda.com did to me all the years I have been booking hotel stay. Unfortunately, I came across Agoda for the 1st time and booked a stay via their website on October 21,2021.
Agoda.com are crook and robber. I made a credit card payment to them for a stay at Swiss Hotel, Lekki-Lagos, Nigeria for just 1 night. After four days Agoda.com pulled another fund from my credit card again in the sum of $70.88 (paid in local currency). I contacted my bank (Zenith Bank) where they confirmed the fund was pulled via POS. Agoda.com however told me the fund pulled via POS was a surcharge. The fact was that my stay caused less than the surcharge, I sent many email messages to Agoda Customer Care as no contact phone number to call. It's so stressful and frustrating dealing with them.
It took them a very long time to understand my complaint and today they lied to me saying they knew nothing about the fund pulled as this was a surcharge. Agoda.com can never be trusted as they have caused me so much pain and stress. Never will I recommend anyone to book via such a dishonest, unreasonable, unfair and very dangerous organization.
We arrived around 9pm and checked in, we're assigned to room 139. The room stunk, had holes in the bathroom walls, tub was completely rusted out, black mold all over the bathroom ceiling.
We requested a refund & we were told no, a room change and we're moved to rm 240. The beds had long black hair in the sheets and bugs. The bathroom did not have towels. The lamp did not turn on, tv did not work and the floor was giving way when you walked. We immediately went to check out and there were homeless sleeping under the stair case and someone deficated on the stairwell.
The man at the front desk said he didn't have any knowledge of issues.
We are requesting a FULL refund on this room.
This place has a customer service line that does not answer. In addition they do not have an online chat person to talk to just an ai that cannot help you. I went on line and booked a hotel in a foreign place and when I went to the place it was closed no one answered phone or was there at check in time. I had to rent another place and I could not get in touch with anyone to get a refund or help me in my situation. My booking ID is *******... I recommend no one use this service because when you run into a situation especially in Covid times and cannot get helped or good customers service or refund this company is not there for you. They just take your money and run.

The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
